Greetings, Mike, from Las Cruces, New Mexico! We visited your home studio many moons ago and ended up buying two wonderful pieces. We still treasure them, and they are even lovelier in the bright sunlight of NM. Folks here wonder how they are done - now we can show them your videos. John & Verne
"A GOOD LIVING" Pretty darn huge distinction, from not buying a nice car or chips and dip on the weekend, to not having a roof over your head and essentially saying ggwp to life.
In life's 'imaginary' race, we somewhere forget that good living is all about great life... I found peace and serenity by just watching this man work and listening to him... 🙏🏼thankyou so much for bringing this vid up.. I am from India and not a frequent traveler but one thing I know - people are treasure.. Mr. Mike Tonder you are a treasure... thankyou so much for sharing..
"I dont know if I can make a good living, but I can make a darn good life." what a wonderful man, those are some wise words of wisdom, happiness should always come before money
I love glass. There is something pure about its translucent look. Nothing to hide. Always thought that if heaven was real it would be like glass. I love the fact that money isn't the focus for his work it's the love and pleasure. Thank you for sharing this video😌
"i don't know if i can make a living, but i know i can make a darn good life." this is one of the best quotes i've ever heard and i go by this now that i think about it i love the thought of acting but my mom says i would need a side job so i can make enough money but to me it doesn't matter i've always cared about the fun in acting and how you can teach people with this amazing power in the end all i want and to give is a little fun
Mike Tonder does awesome work! The best way to find out more about him & the glass he uses is to visit his website: Blueskiesglaswork.com. Thanks for the kind comments!
It's strange, the pieces look a lot like pictures from electron microscopes. The soft undefined edges and abstract shapes just look like those images to me. (I've been spending too much time looking at EM pictures obviously)
Two Harbors isn't a city lol! It's a tiny little town on the isthmus of Catalina island, about 26~ miles from Avalon, which is the only actual incorporated city on the island. Two Harbs population is mostly bolstered by Yachties and the conservancy. source: worked on the island for many years/frequented two harbors all the time - my profile picture is actually me on the island like 3 years ago.
There is this calmness about this guy, and it is reflected in his art work.
Thank you.
never seen glass look so soft and sumptuous . amazing . and what a genuine guy .he reminds me of Bob Ross..
Thank you.

"everything you want" except food and a roof.
artist need to hype themselves to create value.. they need to standout! everything is just hype
Fun fact: 99.9999999% of artists cannot make a living doing art.
Enjoyed watching your creativity! I'm so envious of this. Wish I had the resources to pursue this medium. God Bless!
