This video was awesome man. Great editing too. Really gives me a lot of insight into my future shenanigans. I feel like this is what all the project car viewers on RUclips should be watching and have no idea they're missing out on watching crap from big media channels. For my SR20 MR2 swap, I'm planning to use the Sentra axles, which means using the sentra hubs. Luckily the Sentra press in bearings are the same width and OD as the MR2 bearings, so it should all just go together. Main issues are the Sentra hub is 4X144.3 instead of 4X100, so I'll need to drill the other lug pattern into the hubs. Then the hub bore is 66.1 instead of 60.1, so I'll probably machine down the hub nub, whatever you want to call it. Hopefully then I'll still be able to use MR2 brakes and MR2 wheels and it will all work out. I'll have a rear LSD with stronger, more affordable axles, and an easy to mod setup from there. With my V10 Subaru Impreza build some nonsense like this may definitely be in my future too. Rear end and axles are gonna blow up real good. :D
Great work. Im running the nissan r200 with 3.73 ratio with s15 200sx in my gc8. Custom knuckles with stock nissan axles and 370z bolt in hub/bearing. In Australia the nissan stuff was easy to get a hold of. 4 years has past since i did it and if i did it again a full mustang diff, axles, hubs would be the go. I am now looking for a manufacturer to make front conversion hub. Gc8 press in but with 5x114.3 stud pattern
This pleases me 😁 love it! Oh n just wanted to say thanks for the pointer on using the front sway links from the audi for the rear links on the subaru awhile back👍💪
A little late to the party, but did you try measuring the inner and outer diameter difference of stock parts meant to go together, i.e. explorer to explorer or NSX to NSX? Your videos are great, they're encouraging me to ditch the dreaded 4EAT in my daily driver.
legacy spec B axels ... cough cough. lol just learned a bunch over at subi crews shop doing some talking about this stuff! just back an hour ago actually! lol
Your videos are brilliant man makes we wish i had the knowledge to do the same! Although it's not stopping me from trying 😂😂 keep up the videos man they are great!!
Hub are supposed to be an interference fit in the wheel bearing, they NEED to be pressed in, if it just drops in, you took away too much material. I'd say about .002" difference between the ID and OD
Where did you get $400 figures for an R200? I picked up the strongest R200 you can ever get, it’s a pre 96’ Q45 diff for $100 at my local yard. The R200 comes in like every RWD Nissan.
Dirtcheapdaily didn’t think about that.. I’ve been debating on using my 3.91 r200 on my WRX.. thinking about snagging another subframe to fab up. I have two trannies, and a built 2.7L on the side. Just wondering if converting to RWD will be worth it.
This video is so cringe... The guy who machined it screwed it up. You don't use caliper to measure bearing surface instead you use micrometer and bore gauge for ID... Better to use 4 jaw chuck instead of 3 jaw chuck for precision machining. The worst part is the guy is not wearing safety glass🙄

Always cool to see progress on a unique build like this

Enjoyed watching you grow as a tuner, keep it up

It took 3 drift events to strip the splines on the diff side of the axles on my driftaru with the stock r160. I’m excited to see how this plays out!
So you plan on funding this & future builds by selling complete machined hubs correct? Where do I sign up as customer # 1 ?
Also, couldn't you run matching wheels (if you wanted to) by using a 5x4.5 to 5x100 wheel adapter?
yea I could, but you've gotta look really hard to tell the difference between the ones I have now

FYI, 5x114.3 wheels will drop right on that exploder hub...
Yup. Same thing as 5x4.5
Did you keep a record on the inner and outer measurements of all the bearings you tested? I’m trying to do this exact thing on a different car
Dope. Thank you!
I need to do the same!! Can you tell me who to contact?

...Seems like you didn’t watch the whole video...
Killer!!!

Nissans are rare out here in Minnesota.

hey dirt will a 4.44 rear diff from an auto car fit a 4.11 car also with auto?
It’ll fit, but if the transmission is still a 4.11, it won’t drive.
THANKS
you answered your own question lol

invest in some hole guages
Great video I liked it but that background music needs to go horrible and annoying
I need the contact of your uncle.. Can you help?
