Thanks for the video! I've had a poploc replaced under guarantee, and the second just wasn't working reliably at all. After watching your video I purchased a manual compression dial for my Revelations, removed the spring from the motion control and the poploc function, and now have a reliable set of forks that I know will lock out when I want them to just by reaching down and turning the dial.
focus is horrible, but youve earned enough respect just filming this while have your hands covered in oil. gonna try this myselve, because ive got the same problem. hopefully this will help. thanks buddy!!
Great vid to see how pop lock goes together. I got a problem with mine that doesn't lock. Spring is ok, all seems to operate as normal, but sounds oil might still be passing when in locked position. It stopped working while in use and locked off. Might come back to you if I cant work it out.
A really great video, proving extremely helpful in me fixing my lock out problem last night. Saved me over £100 in getting this sent away - Thanks mate!!!
I've found another issue that doesn't help. When I put the screw in that holds down the pulley wheel on my Reba forks, it expands the hex shaped bit that the wheel sits on (hope that makes sense). The Hex shown in your vid is metal, yet the same part on mine is plastic and the screw is a self-tapper. This then tightens the pulley wheel onto the top of the fork too much and stops it turning freely. I put a shorter screw in and that solved the problem. 👍
Thanks for the video. Recently got a Rockshox XC32 and my lockout stopped working on a ride. Now I have a good idea as to what the problem may be. Will try my first attempt to fix it. Cheers, Busan, South Korea.
mine have stopped working 3 times now and 3 time the bike shop has replaced the switch under warranty it broke again last week so i decided to investigate it myself i discovered that the switch was fine and it was the top of the shocker that was sticking so i gave it a spray with lube worked it in and the lockoff works fine again i think every 3 or 4 weeks i will give the top of the lockoff on the shock a spray with lube and see how it goes hopefully this will solve the problem so i think that its not the pushloc button tyhat breaks but the shocks
Thank you sir fixed my reba rl 2011 same problem as described. Note: to get the motion controller out the last bit dont pull it straight out, that left me with the bottom part (with the half moons) stuck in the hole. Twiggle and work it out slowly. Also, i had two holes or half moons next to each other. I used the wider one as the smaller wouldnt match up with the clips. Not sure sbout the second one. Perhaps you could set it up to have two modes of damping instead of locked/open? The smaller half moon for drops to avoid bottoming out?
BR. Aconteceu na minha sektor, porem essa peça é um pouco diferente da minha, retirei e dei pressão na mola, pois a mesma tinha escapado e daí nao voltava. Demorei pra entender mas consegui. Nenhum mecanico pode me ajudar, todos queriam me vender a peça.
Thanks mate,my MCU in my Pike 454 DA was leaking and the compression adjuster was very hard to turn, had to take it apart, new O rings, etc. But,when I turn the floodgate (with 2.5 hex),it goes down, but when I turn anti-clockwise,the floodgate "thingy" wont come back,so I need to push that back. Anyone had/has the same problem?
To be honest, your remote lever is PUSHLOC, not POPLOC. And, remote lockout lever is easy to disassemble, just 2 little allen wrenches :) Greatings from Poland :)
I watched the video very carefully. Is it really necessary to take out the whole tube actually? Imho you can fix that spring without getting it all out. Am I right?
Mine came adrift because the left hand thread unscrewed as I screwed the unit back into the fork after an oil level check. So make sure the left hand thread is tight.
Great vdo but your camera sucks and it wouldn't focus. It hurt my damn eyes! Need more lighting. Just an opinion for your next video. Other then that you're awesome.
9 Years down the line and this is still a lifesaver! Thank you mate, I owe you one.

I had to give a thumbs up for someone willing to work their camera while holding on to a super oiling object. Thanks from Texas!
Take apart was almost similar with the Rockshox XC32. Got my lockout to work correctly. Thanks Again.
Great video thank you!

I would like to say a BIG THANK YOU to you! I have been searching for a poploc repair video for ages! Now I just have to do the same on my Reba RL.
Great Video, long live youtube university!!!
Thanks for uploading, very clear and the fork is orking fine. The remote control switch however is not always latching.
cheers for that. ideal video as my rockhox have failed in the same way. 3 rockshox owned 3 failed in the same way after a few rides of each....

Awesome video. Will try this on my forks on the weekend.
Thanks for the in depth tutorial.
Cheers for this. I've the same issue and was in a bit of a flap trying to solve it myself. Brilliant 👍

Stuart Broughton Hi! I have the same problem with my Reba. Did you solved the problem with the lock out?
I had this problem; grateful for your video!

Definitely fixed the pop lock this way but ended up cross treading it when refitting and now need new forks 😡

That's brilliant, cheers.
Hi, I need to change direction. Is it possible somehow? I need to use it with twinloc system together with rear shock. Thank you.
HI, can you remove the mo-co spring and fit a lockout cap to eliminate the remote altogether? would be a lot simpler...
Btw, nice ass fork wish i can afford it. I'm trying to upgrade and install a pop lock for my recon silver.
Any chance you can explain how to re-assemble?
I have rock shock carbon world cup forks and the stop lock has stopped working,, and can it be fixed the same way, thanks.
Thanks!
I watched the video very carefully. Is it really necessary to take out the whole tube actually? Imho you can fix that spring without getting it all out. Am I right?
Does the motion control work with the lockout off or does it need te be on?
Mine came adrift because the left hand thread unscrewed as I screwed the unit back into the fork after an oil level check. So make sure the left hand thread is tight.
I hate to comment 6 years later... But I have the same problem. Took apart the same style poploc and can't get it back together
thanks!
how much fluid do I add to top it up, is there a fill level mark somewhere? and is it before you insert the assembly?
there are service manuals online...usually you lose about 5 ml(more or less but 5 should be fine)
thanks
will this work on rockshox reba suspencions?
My lockout doesn't work... i think the spring is broken. Can i order a spring somewhere ?
I'm from Belgium
Thx to give me the advice.
I think u need to buy a new Motion Control Unit :(
pop lock 2016 plz
No, I can't see anything, Because you can't adjust the focus 😠😡🤬
Great vdo but your camera sucks and it wouldn't focus. It hurt my damn eyes! Need more lighting. Just an opinion for your next video.
Other then that you're awesome.
