1976....greatest summer of all time. Especially if you lived in the Metropolitan area. I watched all day and night, from the Jersey side. The blimp races, ships, fireworks, parades.....it was heaven and we were all united that entire year. WTF. Happened. God bless America.
I was there it was fabulous, glorious days I was as part of the delegation of the Ship of the Peruvian Navy "Independence", we were cadets of the Naval School of Peru and we paraded down Fifth Avenue, l ... beautiful .... The people of New York were excellent hosts ... I always remember it as very important days in my life!
I remember seeing the tall ships in NY Harbor, it was on the Saturday before the Bicentennial which was on Sunday, It was beautiful. A warm, sunny day with family & friends. So blessed to have witnessed such a spectacular. So blessed to have lived in those days. 🙂🎂🇺🇸
Thank you for sharing! Beautiful film of an extraordinary Bicentennial celebration!!! My Dad filmed it too; hope we find this film now. He drove all 6 of us kids & Mom to the NJ side of the Hudson River. What an amazing view we had! I'll never forget that special 4th of July 1976!!!!🎉🎉💖
I hope you find that old film! FYI film transfer to digital video is really cheap, there was a company in Iowa that did almost 2 hours of my dad's old films, to video files and even dvd for $120 or so
@@yatinparkhani thank you so much for answering and for that important info on film transfer. I will definitely look into that so we can get some precious memories organized and enjoy seeing them again! Have a great Sunday!
I watched from a friend's apartment on the Upper West Side. I was at Battery Park for the Fireworks later that night and afterward got caught in the crush at TWC plaza.
