    Your colour mixing skills are impressive!!! Great idea to use Werner's colours Book for inspiration. Love how versatile it is to mix turquoise for some mixes. I always find gouache colours too brilliant when they come from the tube, as I paint mostly urban and rural landscapes. This palette of nature inspired colours might just be what I need. I got my colours in an air tight palette (no name, on Amazon) for 16 colours and still have some spaces left. Thanks for sharing your process and inspiration - really like the colours you achieved!

    U made such gorgeous colors!! And, tnis is a great idea to premix the goache colors ahead of time, because then when u want to paint u can skip this step and jist get right into the art! I have to keep remixing colors to finish my painting (cause i run out and need more to complete!) So time consuming 🙄

      Yes, I really like watching colour mixing videos too, super calming. :) I guess it also depends on brand. These are dried up after a few days, but I can reactivate them. What kind of paint brand are you thinking of? :)

    I just started painting this past year and I’ve gone from acrylics to watercolors and I just ordered my first set of gouache. I’m very excited to try it out. Watching you get your own colors ready has made me want to do the same as soon as I get them. I like mixing my colors but honestly a lot of the time like when I’m trying to paint I just want to get most colors straight out of the tube because I am so messy but if I mix before I need them I enjoy it.

    What a great idea and I really like the colors that you chose to mix. I have lately been getting more lazy about mixing colors so maybe this will be good for me to try in the future too - now I just have to find those little plastic pans (or find an alternative).

    • @kriksis
      @kriksis  3 года назад +2

      Thank you! :) I guess premixed colours could be good for lazy days, yes :). I actually googled plastic half pans, but I think there should be alternatives as well. It is possible to put paint on the side of mixing palette or in any type of small containers really. :)

    I really love your videos! I just discovered your channel, and have been recommending all of your videos to all of my friends. They all have such a calm, relaxing vibe, and the quality of content that you make is incredibly well done! At first I had assumed that you had thousands of subscribers already, because your videos look like they're made by someone with years of youtube experience. I always look forward to the days when you upload, and I really hope that you can start getting more attention and love on your content!
    I'm also an artist, and have taken so much inspiration from seeing your process and the materials that you use (I especially love your color book! I'm thinking of making one like it for myself). I can't wait to see the content that you come up with in the future!

      Thank you so much @Blue GInger for this sweet comment! :) I think this is what I want to achieve - making calm and informative videos about art and illustration.(Also documenting life, as I have quite bad memory)
      I learned how to edit video from scratch this year. Started posting here on February and fell in love with filming. (Although before was super unsure and afraid to start, as I'm quite introverted in real life) But I think having people like you encourages me and I'm entirely grateful for that!
      Thats so nice to hear!

      @@kriksis It's surprising to hear that you just started editing and filming this year, but that also gives me hope for the quality of my own RUclips content. I've just started trying to make my videos better, and hearing that you also started so recently is super inspiring!
      I'm glad I can help to encourage you to keep posting content! I really enjoy hearing about your process and seeing what art supplies you have and prefer to use.
      It's nice, especially seeing you combine art supplies that I wouldn't have even considered mixing! I have only been in classes relating to art for a short while, and they usually just focus on one medium at a time. Your content inspires me to push myself a little, going out of my comfort zone when it comes to art supplies, and I really appreciate it!
      Well, this comment ended up being really long lol. Super excited to see what new content you come up with!

      Thank you so much Carolina! :) I guess over time I just had more distinct colours I would grab. I think it is good to have palette that focuses more on one side of colour wheel.:) I feel that there is always colours we use less and we may as well exclude them from classic colour palette. For example I almost don't use pinks and violets at all. :)

I am not familiar with W&N gouache and will need to "translate" these to that colours I use by Schmincke.
