    With this role, Plishka demonstrates how a singer can , over time , transition from singing leading bass roles to various character roles such as Dulcamara. All this he managed with dignity and class.
    He made his debut in 1967 as the Bonz , just two years after Milnes.

    Definitely one of Pavarotti's most enjoyable performances on television thanks in no small part to his rapport with Plishka.

    Saw these two at the Lyric Opera years ago in this same opera. So good I went twice and took my Mom, to whom Pavarotti gave a big kiss backstage. Pavarotti is gone but Paul Plishka is very much alive.

    Pavarotti had a voice touched by god in the early part of his career after his first 20 years his singing just wasnt what it used to be which is natural cuz of age ...after 1979 he had a couple of moments where his voice seemed like it came back to life and this is one of those moments at least in my opinion i think this was superb just fantastic ...but pavarotti still is and always will be one of the best those early years of perfection put the bar very very high for any future tenors his voice was as close as you could get to perfection in his early career i just would like for people to pay more attention to the real pavarotti voice which again was in his early career and move the latter part of his career a bit to the side

    • @madisonelectronic
      @madisonelectronic 8 лет назад +1

      +Babach Lovari I agree. Most people do not realize just how much hidden effort goes into singing well and as you get older so does your voice. He could still rise to the occasion but it does beat the hell out of you. One exception comes to mind and that one is Bjorling.

      @@raynardi2326 that depends if you know how to sing or not. Plishka had no problem with tessitura. Donizetti wrote well for the voice. But if you don't know how to sing, everything is difficult. Nothing Dulcamara sings is more difficult that Udite i rustici.
