Hi Everybody! I hope you all had a wonderful Easter and a great week! I absolutely love holidays, but it does take me out of my routine and it’s always nice to get back to it! This video is all about hacks that I use in my cleaning and organizing routines. They definitely are timesavers! I hope this video gives you some new ideas! Thanks so much for watching and spending part of your day with me!
Hi DeDe! This hack video was spot on! I got lots of great ideas I hadn’t thought of before! Can’t wait to give several a try. As always, thanks for brightening my week!😀😀😀
Hey there Jennifer! Thank you so much! I’m glad you enjoyed the video, and maybe will try a couple of the hacks! I always love learning new hacks! Thank YOU for brightening my week by being here! I hope you have an amazing weekend!🤗
I just threw away a cheese container!!🙄 At least I know now and will be saving the next one! I also plan to try the lemon juice and baking soda hack on my plastic containers!! Thanks for that hack, DeDe!! And the toy washing; I've used that for years!! Being a kindergarten teacher, we have lots of toys to keep clean. I also use my washing machine and zipper bags to wash small items like legos and such!! Thanks for another great video!!
Hi Nancy! I am sure as a kindergarten teacher you have use the dishwasher trick many times! Thank you so much for sharing about a zipper bag to wash Legos and small items in the washer! I would never thought of that. Thank you so much for that tip!! thank you so much for watching. I appreciate you tuning in each week! Have an amazing weekend friend!
Hello DeDe, I love the lemon hack it makes me want ice tea lol Have I told you that I put wax melts in drawers ? I like the fruity ones ( & in with my fabrics in an open baggie 🤫) Everything smells fruity when I open things LOL Combing the carpet .. I'm sitting here trying to figure out how I can do that without raising questions from the men folk here 🤣🤣 I hope you are having a blessed Sunday & you have a wonderful week my friend . 🤗💕💕🙏
Hello friend! I hope you had a great weekend! The lemon juice in the squirt bottle was a real game changer for me! I use it more than I ever thought I would! Great idea about putting the wax melts in your drawers!! I’m gonna have to put that in my little mental catalog! Yes, maybe wait till the menfolk or out of the house before you try the carpet combing , it really does work well though! 😂 here’s wishing you a wonderful week. I hope I’ll get to tune in to your live tomorrow morning. I’ve got a big day of recording ahead of me, an outdoor project! 😆
Some good hacks, I’ve always known about the lemon hacks, I used to use vinegar for cleaning too. Pretty sure I’ve heard of the ice hack on the carpets. I really can’t do any big cleaning now. It takes me ages to vacuum or wash my floors. I can’t get down low or I can’t go up high either. It drives me nutty cos I love trying new ways to do things and I just can’t do it and if I suggest things to someone they think I’m interfering so I don’t really say anything unless I’m asked. I love watching your videos though. On the days where I can do things I try and incorporate hacks that I’ve learned or already knew about to make it easier for me. I used to always move my furniture around and change my decor, now cos I’m living with my grandson I don’t have any decor unless it’s in my room. Thanks for sharing your hacks De De. Looking forward to your next video. I joined your Facebook group yesterday. I can’t go on Instagram, they’ve blocked me from looking at anything or making any comments. They accused me of sharing my password with someone else and I don’t even know what my password is cos my granddaughter set it up for me and even she doesn’t know what it is lol. Guess it’s bye bye Instagram for me. Hope you have a great weekend and a good week next week.
Hi Pam! I am glad you are enjoying the videos! No worries about the Instagram, because I don’t post as much on there. But I usually post two or three times a day or the Facebook page! I get a lot of pictures sent to me of different peoples projects, and I just love sharing those. I have used vinegar in the past, and it works well too! Usually if I use vinegar, I like to add a drop or two of essential oil or something to kind of kill the smell. Maybe one day you’ll be able to try a few of these hacks, or the opportunity will come up where you can mention them! I love learning new hacks just like you. I don’t always try every hack I see, but I sure do enjoy learning about them! Thank you so much for watching and I hope you have a great weekend!🤗
Some great ideas especially the coffee filter and the ice for the carpet. I have the carpet rake and am surprised how much fluff and fur (little cat) comes out 😮 I only do it a few times a year as it does remove carpet fibres too but it looks so much cleaner when done. Thanks for sharing ❤❤❤
Hi Barbara! I’m glad you liked the ideas! I will tell you, the coffee filters are a definite game changer! I really do think the rake/comb makes such a difference on the way the carpet looks! It’s nice to know I’m not the only one that does that! Thank you so much for watching and being here week after week, Barbara! I truly appreciate it!
DeDe, these are great! I've been doing a few (raking my steps 🤪, saving my parm lids) but I've gotta try the rug squeegee and the TP in the tissue box!! Brilliant!! Thanks for sharing! Gonna watch this vid a 2nd time so they stick 😂
Hi there Eeeek! I am so glad that you have already been doing some of them, but I am so glad that you found some new hacks to try! The squeegee works like a charm I can tell you!! Glad to know I’m not the only one that needs to see things twice for it to stick in my little noggin! Thank you so much for watching and I hope you have a very relaxing weekend!
Love it! I haven't heard about lemon for stained Tupperware. And the spray bottle is genius! May have to try the squeegee in the car with picking up dog hair. A swiffer and microfiber work well on mirrors and pictures that you can't quite reach the top also. Just spray a little cleaner on the rag first.
Hi Ann! I’m glad you liked the hacks!! That’s a great idea about using the swiffer with a microfiber on mirrors and pictures!! Thank you so much for watching and sharing!!🤗
Love a good cleaning hack and these were great. Once you have microfibered baseboards, go over them with a dryer sheet to slow the accumulation of dust. I have to try the lemon spray bottle for cooking, saves so much on fresh lemons off season. Thanks for several new tips, Dede.
Hello Joy! Oh my goodness I always love hearing from you! You always have such positive comments and brilliant ideas! Thank you for the reminder about the dryer sheets! The lemon spray bottle is definitely a game changer! I hope you are well and enjoying a wonderful spring. I can’t wait to hear from you again Joy!! 🤗
Excellent video! All of these tips (except for the carpet rake) are new to me. Who knew lemon juice was so versatile? Thank you so much and keep up the great work. Have a wonderful weekend, DeDe!
Hi Matt! It is so great to hear from you, and I mean that! I am so glad you learned some new tips! I hope that you will be able to give some of these tips to try! The coffee filters were a big game changer for me! I even use them on my electronics sometimes! Thank you so much for being here! I always love hearing from you! I hope you have a relaxing and enjoyable weekend! 🤗
@@MyBigTidyUp I already tried the technique with wiping the mirror / glass in an "S" shape on my car windows which for some reason I can never get a streak free shine on them. You ain't lying! It really works! I look forward to trying out the other ones, too. I hope you have an awesome weekend.
Hey Rene! It was a definite game changer for me! I use it all the time! Sometimes, even when I’m cleaning out my sink, I’ll just grab it out of the fridge and give the sink a couple of sprays to freshen it up while I’m wiping it out!
I just used a coffee filter to clean my bathroom mirrors and they look amazing! Normally I use newsprint, but recently that has been leaving behind fibers. My only unique cleaning hack is using carnauba wax, which I normally use while making stained glass, as a polish for my crystal and EAPG vases for major sparkle.
Hi J M!! Yay! I’m glad the coffee filters worked for you! I love them! Thank you so much for sharing your tip!! I am definitely going to give this a try! Thank you so much for sharing and have a great weekend!
You can spray hydrogen peroxide on cutting boards as well. The Dollar Tree makes a rubber scrubber broom that You can screw on to a handle and do your carpets And hair, plus scrub floors.
Hi Nicole! Thank you for sharing! It never occurred to me about using hydrogen peroxide on my cutting boards! What a great idea! I love dollar tree, I’ll have to check that out next time I go! Thanks so much for watching and sharing your tips!!
Good morning my friend!! I hope you had a great week! Where do I start? Love the lemon juice bottle idea. I will be trying that. As far as carpets, we don’t have any here. Now on to mirrors and in our case here lots of sliders for the lani. (3 sets). I will be trying the filter trick. I try to do my sliders once a month but once the sun hits them they look streaky. It bugs the crap out of me. Thank you so much for opening your home and giving us these ideas. Hope you have a great weekend! See you next week. 😘
Good morning to you too friend! I did have a nice week! I’m glad you like some of the hacks and might be able to use them! If you give the coffee filters a try, let me know how it goes on the sliders! Maybe it will give you some improvement on the streaks. The lemon juice in the bottle was a real game changer for me and I have never seen anyone else do it. I’ll even take it sometimes out of the fridge and give a couple of squirts on my garbage disposal to give it a quick, freshen up! I hope that you had a wonderful night on the town for your anniversary and have a great weekend planned as well!
@@MyBigTidyUp Thank you! We are starting to gather info and supplies for the other bathroom remodel. We’re going to look at shower tile today and we ordered the vanity. Hopefully once school lets out we will start it. My husband is going to take a week off so we can work on it and get it done. Stayed tuned for that project! Tomorrow I’m watching the boys for a while so that should be fun!
I can’t wait to see the results of your projects! Every project you do, makes me want to do the same thing in my own home! Tomorrow sounds like a perfect day with a visit from your little fellas!
Hello there! Nice to hear from you again! It probably does seem like an earlier video because I haven’t done a tips and tricks or hacks video for a long time. I like to mix it up! You are very observant yes, I had used a product to add a little luster to my countertops. They tend to get very dull on either side of the sink. Thank you so much for watching and have a great weekend! 🤗

Love all of these hacks! ❤I liked the idea of keeping the lemon juice in the spray bottle. Cuts down significantly with prep time for each use.

The squeegee works like a charm! You can also use rubber gloves and run your hands back-and-forth and they work really well too! 👍🏼
