I rode this ride over like 20 times for the past 2 years, I always go to florida for like a week each year. I love this ride. It's not even scary, the rollercoaster isnt bad at all, and there are no thrill effects on the beetles, you just watch them like there crawling all over you, but you dont get any air or brushes or anything. Nothing physical in this ride.
Hey welcome back! I hope you enjoyed the ride, I know I would've enjoyed this interview a lot more if I had GOTTEN MY CUP OF COFFEE!!! always scream cup of coffee when you get to the end of the ride. That's how everyone else on the ride knows you're super cool!
one of the best rides in the universal theme parks. although this ride looks like it could fit in Islands of adventure, but i think it's stands there better, because it's the only thrilling roller coaster ride type in universal studios. greet job on filming the ride!!
best ride at universal other then the hulk. it was so fun watching the girls scream because of the bugs and the part with the flashing lights of the people turning into mummies was pwnage because they were all diffrent colors.
When I first went on this I loved but the ending was the best. I thought the first time it stopped it was the end, but that last twist had me walking out so satisfied.
I have bittersweet feelings for this ride. The effects are absolutely, without a doubt amazing, but because I'm such a chicken head, they scared the mess our of me! But thrill-wise, this roller coaster is badass.
i had a group with me when i went on the ride, and when the ride started we kept chanting "Imhotep" over and over and freaked the hell out of the fam in front of us x)
The effects in Universal Studios Singapore are significantly better, but there is very little deviation in the layout as compared to the one shown in this video. Thanks for the upload, at least we can see the ride elements more distinctively on nightvision! :D
I haven't even been on the one in Orlando and it looks HELLA better than the one in Hollywood. I definitely have love for the one in Hollywood, but I seriously want to go on Orlando's
Back in 2005 he told me that he rode next to the guy who played the evil dude that awoken the Mummy in the scene when they were in the British Museum. He didn't notice it until they left the station and the guy told him "Look their I am being eatin by the beetles". You know the part where the train goes past the guy getting consumed by The beetles.
For first timers its kind of scary when you get stuck their because you hear the other train rocketing through the course behind you before you are launched. So you begin to think that the train comming up is going to slam into the back of you. But within 6 seconds you are launched.
I have a buddy that happens to live 10 minutes away from the Universal Hollywood. He goes there all the time and finds himself next to celebrities on The Mummy. He normally dooesn't notice until the train leaves the stataion and he looks to see who is sitting next to him.
looks like the exact same thing in Universal studios Singapore. it's an AMAZING ride though! went on it like 16 times cuz the queue time's 5mins forever!! xp
In Florida, I never meet famous people on the ride, but I do manage to ride next to people that help design the ride. For example, I rode next to some dude who worked for Premier Rides which happens to be the company that made the track. I also rode next to the person from Technifex that designed the animation face of Imohtep that appears on the screen when you enter the treasure room. I also rode next the people who directed the voice over recording of Ronold Vosloo.
Insanely awesome ride, I actually used my brothers 2,000 dollar High Def, like, acute nightvision enabled camera In a lot of the rollercoaster part, theres actually old king kong junk back off on the sides that they just moved away from the tracks and havent gotten rid of Its all green of course... But yeah, its pretty interesting.
@TheMrAxl Yeah being in pitch black darkeness makes it 10 TIMES as scary. Especially since I heard it goes backwards. Its really intense looking, even though I never rode it. Flight of Fear ride at Kinds Island is just like this, except its darker, more loops and WAAAY more faster! I never rode HULK before though, I heard its really good.
Not only is this ride awesome, but the lines were 5 minutes or nonexistent, making it a common pleasure. Went on it 7 times in a single day. IMHOTEP FTW
Haha I kind of did the same. I was there with a friend and of course, with my luck, we ended up in the very first seats, lol. I thought the ride was going to turn into something like the Indiana Jones ride where they jump out at you during the roller coaster part because I heard it was a coaster before we went on
They must not have the sprinkler turned on. When you get to the wall where the beetles are there is a opening in the ceiling. That is where the water is shot out. Its not even enough to get you wet and sometimes you may not notice it, but a drop of water is suppose to fall on you when you shoot back.
Yea, I guess I am the shit. I remember this one 17 year old that screamed her ass off as soon as the Mummy poped out the coffin. As the ride passed by the Mummy she was shaking in her seat so much that I could feel it. When the warrior mummies came up she screamed. This damn girl was praying the whole ride. When we hit the backwards launch she lost it and screamed so hard that the people in the back covered their ears. When we hit the launch hill all you heard was screaming from her.
lolz I love that ride but last year I went on it and our car got stuck halfway in the riches room so I had to walk back on the side railing and if you check out the mummys sitting on the walls they are all whereing universal shirts and hats and underwear =) but yea nice video!
Cool. Disneyland has Indiana Jones; and Universal has The Revenge of the Mummy. The Mummy ride looks scarier/cooler. Were those real flames blowing on the top of the ceiling? That looked crazy.
i dont know how many times i have been on this ride! its just so awesome! if i had to guess, it'd be around 20 something times (we got this week pass i think :) ) i even know every single line they say in the ride. haha.
omg. my favorit part was wen the ride stoped. and the lady was like " thank yew for visiting " and i was trying to get out. but then the ride started again and i was half way out already. that sheyt was scarry lol
If I may correct you, you do feel something. If you are sitting in the middle you feel a drop of water fall on you from above when you shoot backwards. People sitting in the front and the back of the ride donnot feel a thing. People sitting in the middle do. Trust me, I have rode this ride way too many times to know all the cool effects it has.
No, it does not go upside down. It would be real nice if it did. It would be cool for them to add a rotating table inside the fake unload station, so that you are lauchned and droped down the pit backwards. And then at the end of the ride you are turned around just in time to watch the ending part.
Whats cool is that in the line there is a screen and you can see people further on in the line- touch the bug below and a blast of air scares the shit outta them lol!
@BalletCava there's no earthquake ride in the Universal Studios Singapore but there's gonna be a Madagascar a crate adventure boat ride that's coming soon this year
the scarabs are not dropped on the guests. And they have not run out-they are recycled and used all day long. There is, however, a small bit of water sprinkled in the dark to startle your sense of touch.

This is the best dark ride/indoor rollercoaster ever created.
NIGHTVISION! THANK GOD!
I was doing research for my book and all the other ones were dark! Thanks so much!
Great pov, thanks a lot for reminding me of so many great memories. 5/5 and favourited
This and Spiderman are like the BEST ride there!!
i love this ride, it goes so fast i could hardly breathe!!! :D
one of the best rides in the universal theme parks. although this ride looks like it could fit in Islands of adventure, but i think it's stands there better, because it's the only thrilling roller coaster ride type in universal studios. greet job on filming the ride!!

I loved the Ride, When the Mummy flew out of the casket at the beginning, it made me jump so bad.
I have bittersweet feelings for this ride. The effects are absolutely, without a doubt amazing, but because I'm such a chicken head, they scared the mess our of me! But thrill-wise, this roller coaster is badass.
My fav ride at Universal. Just got back last week.

there wa a woman behind us who screamed "my weave!!!!" I died laughing!
i had a group with me when i went on the ride, and when the ride started we kept chanting "Imhotep" over and over and freaked the hell out of the fam in front of us x)
This ride is just awesome, especially the ending with brendan fraser and his CUP OF COFFEE!!!!!!
Lol you still alive?
I refused to go on this ride a kid, I was afraid of the beetles. Now I can't wait to go back and ride this.
OMG!!!!!!!!!! LOVE THIS RIDE!!!!!!!!!!

I LOVED THIS RIDE!!!!
lol, i miss this ride alot, im ready to go back and its only been 2 months since ive rode it.
Not only is Universal Studios is going to get Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit, but SeaWorld is also going to get a lay-down flying coaster called Manta.
It also makes me miss Florida, but I'll be there in 4 months!! This is my favorite ride at Universal!

omg! the orlando version looks WAY much better than the one here in hollywood

lols me, my friend and my cousin went on this so many times, even my mom went twice and she loved it!!
Insanely awesome ride,
I actually used my brothers 2,000 dollar High Def, like, acute nightvision enabled camera

YOUR SOULS ARE MINE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
i love the ride....it was awesome!!!

Shit is so funny when Imhotep literally jumps out of the coffin.
DAMN! It looks better then the Hollywood one.
great video! got the important parts! great!
Are you still alive?
I remember being at the fake ending, and I was like, "Is it over, is it over......OH CRAP!!!"
just got back and that ride rocks
Not only is this ride awesome, but the lines were 5 minutes or nonexistent, making it a common pleasure. Went on it 7 times in a single day. IMHOTEP FTW
Love this ride!!
oh man, there used to be so many scarabs pouring out of that wall!
I loved this ride! I rode this at least 10 times!
the animatronics on that were kick ass! it was scary as hell when i went it when i was younger, but it was still awesome!
I wish hollywood's version was this cool
Haha I kind of did the same. I was there with a friend and of course, with my luck, we ended up in the very first seats, lol. it depends on whether you like indoor rollercoasters or not. This ride is awesome though, and i recommend you ride it.
lolz I love that ride but last year I went on it and our car got stuck halfway in the riches room so I had to walk back on the side railing and if you check out the mummys sitting on the walls they are all whereing universal shirts and hats and underwear =) but yea nice video!
I would love to go on this ride! :D
it's a computer thing but when you are there looks SO real! hahaha!
i closed my eyes most of the time so it's good to see what happans
It is in the New York section where that King Kong ride used to be.
Can you feel the bug like Studio TOur?
It doesn't go upside down. It's just a dark roller coaster where there are many hidden surprises, drops, turns and even backwards motion.
Cool. Disneyland has Indiana Jones; and Universal has The Revenge of the Mummy. The Mummy ride looks scarier/cooler. Were those real flames blowing on the top of the ceiling? That looked crazy.
Does this ride have loops?
i love that ride i went on it 100 times!
i dont know how many times i have been on this ride! its just so awesome! if i had to guess, it'd be around 20 something times (we got this week pass i think :) ) i even know every single line they say in the ride. haha.
We hope you enjoyd your ride Pleas- Prepare to fall for your souls! lol!!!!
approximately when does the ride go backwards??
i LOVE this ride it i sawesome i might be going in 2008 or 2009
omg. my favorit part was wen the ride stoped. and the lady was like " thank yew for visiting " and i was trying to get out. but then the ride started again and i was half way out already. that sheyt was scarry lol
this ride id better then the one here in hollywood!!!! =)
I have hahaha for five mins... quite amusing... and the fire was on too i was like... can i burn alive from this?
If I may correct you, you do feel something. If you are sitting in the middle you feel a drop of water fall on you from above when you shoot backwards. on 1:40 is that going upwards?that was amazinG!
is there any huge drops in this ride??
Do you feel the scrabs(bugs) when it comes out>>
No, it does not go upside down. It would be real nice if it did. It would be cool for them to add a rotating table inside the fake unload station, so that you are lauchned and droped down the pit backwards. And then at the end of the ride you are turned around just in time to watch the ending part.
brendan fraser is the coolest part of this ride.
Whats cool is that in the line there is a screen and you can see people further on in the line- touch the bug below and a blast of air scares the shit outta them lol!
@FunkyGranny9 I know right?? hahaha happens to me every time. LOL LOVE this ride....
Good idea with the nightvision
It probably the sharp turns as it goes turn that made you feel like you were going to fall out
@BalletCava there's no earthquake ride in the Universal Studios Singapore but there's gonna be a Madagascar a crate adventure boat ride that's coming soon this year
went on this five times with my friends on a band trip
does this ride go upside down?????

the scarabs are not dropped on the guests. And they have not run out-they are recycled and used all day long. There is, however, a small bit of water sprinkled in the dark to startle your sense of touch.
