I have an EV motorcycle. It’s changed what I thought bikes are. Being able to listen to the brides chirping in there trees while I glide silently through to twists along the forest road is calm serene peaceful beautiful. I love it. And filtering through traffic I feel as though I have unlocked a super power. Access to all of my senses, I can HEAR what’s going on around me. people try slinging phrases like loud pipes save lives to try and justify being obnoxious. I’d much rather take my safety into my own hands and actively do something about it rather than hope someone else is paying attention and gives a damn.
Can't stand riding loud bikes but a nice sounding exhaust that sounds just right (quiet cruising and fruity sounding when giving it the beans) really can't be beat.
got my ninja 500 back in june, my father decided he wanted to join the 2 wheel family after seeing me ride, now ill be riding one of these home tomorrow! cant wait
45 yrs biker owned n rode all sorts but nothing acellerates like my Zero SRF 140ft lbs of torque , the 2024 Zero S in this video got 97ft lb of torque and is cbt legal
I've definitely been converted. I love my SR/F so much that I eventually bought an electric car, too. Unfortunately, the range is still limited on two-wheelers for the time being, so I still have a very loud gas bike for when I need to do 300 miles in one day, but for my daily riding, it's all electric.
I some countries, like Belgium, you can ride this bike with a car drivers license. An electric A1 bike like this is more interesting than a petrol A1 bike, because the electric has more power and works well at high way speeds. With a 125cc A1 that is not as good. To all people with negative comments about electric motorcycles: At least give it a try. It would be very surprising if you think an Energica Ribelle is not fun to ride.
As always a good, measured review. That said....£15k?! Absolutely not! That's what I paid for my Ducati Panigale V4 with 600 miles on the clock, or thats a brand new Ducati Panigale V2. I think you hit the nail on the head with it's either like it or loathe it. For me, it's an absolute nope for so many reasons. Keep up the good work...loving the content 😁
I drove this Zero in April. I wasnt overwhelmed. It has 190Nm. My Street Triple has 68 or so. The acceleration isnt as ridicolous as you would think. At 80km/h it didnt pull faster than my 675R. The smaller Zeros are way more fun.
I consider the old pre 2020 models that were based around the older frame to be better, they were lighter and more responsive, also more efficient in terms of power usage. Right now, money no object, Energica are much better than Zero in the electric bike segment.
Nothings happened to it since the last episode was released 😭 I do plan to get going with it again next month but motivation has been at an all time low as I know the real challenges are to come and the series seems to be tailing off on the RUclips stats sadly
Potentially next month, it’s been very slow progress I’m afraid 😭 it’s now onto painting and then taking it upto image works to get all the graphics done then back home for clear coat.. very time consuming stuff around current commitments - have fallen off the wagon with fast progress
This seems like a loophole that may eventually be adjusted at some point in the future, especially with these specs "Peak power: 60 hp (45 kW) @ 3,650 rpm"
I also can't see this being friendly to insure either. Seems this is catered towards 30+ year olds with a bit of disposable income just about to hit a midlife crisis and want to pick up 2 wheels. It's about 10k too expensive

They aren't my cup of tea due to a couple of things. Firstly the price and secondly the travel distance per charge. I would only be using it on nice days and to go for a ride of anywhere between 200-400 kms ( I live in South Australia so these sort of distances for a day trip is nothing).
I do that sort of trip on my Energica fairly regularly, its only when I start pushing past 500-600km that I'll consider the petrol bike instead. Furthest I've done in a day on my Energica is about 800km But yeah the price... you really have to want an electric bike to justify it at the moment.
Is the lack of engine noise a help or hindrance? Aside from the pleasure aspect of the sound of an IC engine, I like to hear how my bike is performing. I think I might become a bit lazy with an EV because it's not engaging enough.
As I don’t even enjoy riding IC bikes with stock exhausts it’s a hindrance for me, just love the racket 😅 As mentioned in the video it wouldn’t be a bike for pleasure but would be an incredible commuter tool
Oh man many sleepless nights ahead now 😅 in all seriousness if one video doesn’t float your boat and your willing to unsubscribe as a result then your hardly a fan of the channel to just wait for another regular video to return, it’s not like I’ve said I’m not reviewing any petrol engines any more and the channels gone full EV 🤷♂️
@stoneautomotive, you shouldn't have to explain yourself to him ... its his choice childish though it os in my opinion, i really enjoyed the video to say its a 125 is madness, its good of you to be diverse and you are willing to do that so keep up the good work , maybe see if there is a Steam powered bike or a jet powered bike 😂😂😂😂

I have ridden motorcycles for years, the obsession with a sound coming out of a pipe is just baffling to me. Give me quiet any day.
I’m in the crowd that baffles you 😅👍
Totally agree with you, been riding 53 years and never had loud pipes , they only annoy everyone and make you think your faster 🤣🤣🤣

Yep, the S in dangerous for a cbt rider 🤣 had mine 2 years now. People stil cant believe it moves like it does with L plates.
When the revuer is saying Wheeee! You know it's fine .

Torque in ICE motorcycle goes up to specific RPM. Torque on electric motorcycle peaks almost right away and goes DOWN faster you go.
Shows the terrible condition of the UK roads. Interesting video.

Is it faster than Kawasaki zx10r?
Not overall no.. catch the zx10r in the bottom rpm and this little EV will catch you off guard but zx10 in its peak rpm not a chance
