Reminds me when I was little, I had long beautiful hair and my family always wanted to perm my hair or cut it in shad or pixie, I would cry ,argue every time. To this day they still try to have my hair the same way, iam adult, old enough, I tell no running my my life now.

Imo it should be mandatory for both genders if you go to the military. A) you won’t be too attached if you’re captured by enemy forces and B) it’s a lot less work to maintain since you can’t always brush your hair during service.
