      I wouldn't consider any other car for a road trip. I've done many all day drives with my friend. I do avoid the Interstate highways, but mostly because the backroads are more engaging. Just carry a tire repair kit. I've had many flats in my Miatas in over 500K miles, but I've never been stuck

    I was going to buy one but...that info screen doesn't fold down or is removable. Just too little room for my height. Hate the blind spots. I know it would be fun driving around the city but the long haul would be torture.

      people always look because of the smol size, and then they get confused because they think its bmw or jaguar. a kid asked me if it was a supra and then a real old guy told me it reminded him of his old school corvette stingray.

      hey thanks for the genuine lol when i read the nice belly post lol!! i can tell you as a 2022 GT/RF owner(not my daily driver tho) that YES and typically YOU will see/notice other on-comming drivers rubber-necking and looking at the RF regardless of color/trim;its because 'most'(not all) ppl dont know what kind of car this mx5 is,and i live in a pretty big area,not a metropolis but big enough,and my local dealership sold a few mx5s and a couple werent local to here they came from elsewhere,and other than myself i dont see any when im out-n-about alot, or know anyone else that has it;id REALLY love to see some esp in diff colors,or at a traffic light id be surely still staring at another one esp in a diff color! i know Mazda sold alot of the mx5's,but to my surprise,far few and in between arent around here in my area.for 'fun-cars' ALOT of mustangs,dodges,etc tho thats a given;i feel since most ppl dont see this car typically that's what causes the attention it grabs even when youre driving and its profile/design too.i also feel this design takes on a almost different profile/look at night,youll see what i mean esp with all the lights on and man are they BRIGHT for a small sports-car!!but for sure soft top,or RF this mx-5 is an attention grabber whether one likes it,or not;what i LOVE about the RF is it's like 2 cars in ONE best of both worlds;when its hot like its been here upper 90s but taking out the RF in the day, you can still take it out with the top UP/closed the A/C is awesome cold!!! and funny thing, it wasnt on its coldest setting!! and i love a/c,but i love the car with the roof open too at night esp or when the temps arent 90s outside either way,you can have the full enjoyment of the RF like having 2 cars in one,fixed-roof(top closed) or convertible-targa-top experience(roof open) when YOU feel like it =) thats why i chose the RF BUT...i also love the classic soft top too its all subjective i feel it wasnt an easy choice for me in the end...just a useful tip...lastly,for ME(my experience) at speeds of 60-65mph both windows down fully, roof open,there was NO wind-buffeting for me,same with roof closed,same speeds,same highway,windows fully down and NO wind buffeting,no discomfort to the ears on either occasion etc, i tested it out for myself with all of the controversy on the bmw/supra i said i wonder about my mx-5 and again for me there was none at all; but 'windy' yes esp at those speeds, but no drone-heliocopter-sounds,just get prepared to be stared at alot in it =)

    How does it handle in the snow and on what tires? Thanks.

    • @ricksomething
      @ricksomething  Год назад

      I've never driven it in snow. The tires are factory and very narrow. I wouldn't attempt much bad weather driving. Also the car is extremely light weight.

    • @mikeb9569
      @mikeb9569 11 месяцев назад +1

      I drive through New England winters with winter tires (ND1 Club). The roads are well salted, so I spray the undercarriage with "Fluid Film" every fall. I've no more rust than a southern car and have never had a rust-frozen fastener in 170K miles. You must use winter dedicated tires (less understeer and stops in half the distance). LSD helps avoid torque steer on slick roads.
