- Today is the 25th anniversary of release of the last album by Death - The Sound Of Persevarance. On this occassion, I've recorded a humble cover of the first song on the album - Scavenger Of Human Sorrow.
Covering a song by Death is always a great challenge, not only because of the fact that Chuck had a really high voice and wide range but also because of a unique sound color of his voice and screaming technique. Despite his own opinion, Chuck was a very good vocalist.
Performing (properly :D) any of Death's song was one of my dreams when I started doing vocals in 2012 so I hope you will like the cover, enjoy!

Hello, thank you! Chuck has a lot of his natural voice in the scream, more than in a regular fry scream but I think it's very close to the fry. I would describe it as a yell scream with the fry distortion (raised voice + fry scream).

Słychać, że ciężko było się tak bardzo zbliżyć do Chucka, ale tego dokonałeś. Winszuję. Jestem w sumie ciekaw jakby to brzmiało gdybyś spróbował to zaśpiewać w swoim stylu i w swojej naturalnej skali, jako po prostu alternatywny wokal
Gdybym dostał taki utwór do nagrania i nie znałbym oryginału, a dynamika, tonacja i linie wokalu byłyby identyczne, to celowałbym w nagranie tego w ten sam sposób, bo to najlepiej pasuje i jest jeszcze w daleko od wyciskania z siebie na siłę. Ew. dorzuciłbym kilka growli, średnich i wyższych screamów dla urozmaicenia.
