Id like to point something out to everyone ive had going on.. so i had all my projects in one folder and an audio folder for pretty much all of them... meaning that audio folder is massive and alot of old and new projects feeding off it. So basically I created back ups like he is explaining of my tracks i'm keeping / releasing working hard on... then everything seemed ok , but what i did was after backing up all my projects i removed that audio folder and then a lot of my new backups didn't find their audio files... it wasn't that bad though i realised i just had to point cubase back to the new backup folder audio folder instead of the main big one i removed which was just inside cubase projects folder. Hope that helps or helps people clean up their folder which is what ive done over the last few days , i also recommend deleting a lot of your crap music at the same time lol No insult intended just keeping it real , it will be liberating !!!

Even if the person has kontakt or battery, it is not said that the audiofiles are supplied via a cubase backup. Battery or kontakt then do not find the samples. That's why I always save the presets extra with native instruments (kontakt or battery) and send that in addition. or ask the customer if I get something sent. better safe than sorry. thanks for your video. There are always a few things i do not know yet. that with the freeze function is awesome. all the best to you.

4:28 > Minimize audio files ... if there are more files in your pool, but you are not using everything,
Only the used files will be copied to the backup folder.
That is when you imported 5 loops and you only used 1. The other 4 are ignored....
cubase will keep the file amount "to a minimum"
started with cubase in 1993 on atari but still love this software.
Thanx for this video :-) Thumbs up from me.

Not exactly correct. Let's say you have a 10 minute recording in a file, but your project is only using 1 minute of the full 10 minute recording. This process removes any unused part of the files.

    Very nice video 👍🏼
Actually when you get a project that contains plugins you don’t have, it does load the project but you will get a popup with a list of missing plugins on each track. The inserts on the channel will have a “Missing Plugin!!!” Showing up in that given slot.
Good stuff, keep em coming bro!

cubase wont export the custom drum kits from Groove agent into the backup folder just like studio one or logic x
does, so its a big problem for me...

I did as you explained. I created a self contained project and saved it using the back up feature. All of my audio files are in the folders, etc. When I go to load the project on my other computer, i still get an error pop up about most of my audio not being found.
What else could I be doing wrong? I'm trying to transfer from a Mac to a PC if that matters.

    • @VintiqueSound

I think I may have missed something with this method. I don't think this includes any of the Steinberg VST Sound samples/loops. So if for instance you have a Groove Agent drum kit, and export it as described, then import the project to a computer that doesn't have that same Groove Agent content installed, it will have missing files. I'm going to have to do some more investigating, and may post a new follow up video.

What if I want to send my multitrack project to someone that is not using Cubase. How do I save all files so that they can be played back in any DAW?

    • @VintiqueSound
      @VintiqueSound  4 года назад

The best way is to export audio stems. Make sure that all the audio is consolidated.
You can also export a project file as OMF or AAF which are compatible project files across many different DAW's.
