I have this album, bought 1966 in Sweden. The disc label says Hergestellt ... Hamburg, the inner sleeve says Made in England, and the outer sleeve says Printed in Sweden. Brought together as by a miracle! The rear of the outer sleeve has a series of pictures from a show in a sports hall, with Swedish television cameras in view. Pieces of the original B/W 35 mm film runs diagonally across the sleeve. No notes except for the song titles. The front picture, seen here, is probably from the same occasion. A unique band and a great album, sad and strange their fortunes and management weren't better!
yes, i love them i heard t,hat their original manager producer wanted them to continue focusing on Colin Blunstone's breathy vocals that were very succcessful selling-wise but the band wanted to move onto different styles and changed producers i have to admit that i really tend to be moved most by the earlier songs and am so impressed with their abilities at age nineteen !

They were ahead of their time. Colin Blunstone was blessed with one the greatest voices in the genre. Rod Argent's writing, singing & especially his jazz inspired keys, stood out from most of their fellow, guitar based, British Invasion counterparts. Their sophisticated melodies & harmonies rivaled the better known Beatles & Beach Boys. The Zombies swan song & masterpiece, Odessey & Oracle, was recorded in the same studio as Sgt. Pepper, literally as they were departing the building. 🇨🇦
@@robertmaynard4265 what has to do with anything? They break up because all their singles failed to chart and their masterpiece oddysey didn't do any better, ppl just started pickin interest in them after they break up.
VALucario If The Zombies had defined popular culture in the Sixties, and if they do now, the world would be a better place. They are slowly being given their due now, it is in the public interest to make as many Zombies songs and performances available as possible. You never know what will spark people.
Oo well someone really loves the Zombies. They were a pretty big part of pop culture in the 60's, but not at all now. Don't really get how they would make the world a better place if they did, except maybe in Odyssey and Oracle. I loved them when I uploaded this video, but now im not as much of a fan.
VALucario The Zombies are most definitely still around, touring constantly to adoring fans and writing and recording really good new material. Go to their channel on here. They have fans of all ages and sound as good as ever, if not better.

I'm not real familiar with the individual members of this band and just wanted to ask if all the original members are still around? I am in USA and the song, "She's Not There" was a big hit here and played on the radio a lot in the 1960's. The only way I heard "I Love You" on the radio back in the day was the cover by the band called People! When the People! single came out, we folk in flyover country had never heard of the Zombies' original. We thought the People! voices sounded a lot like The Beatles, but not quite as much as the Knickerbockers record that was getting airplay then.
@evandromadeira3114 Oh I love the grit the old tech adds to it. Also its a lot better mono than atereo when its made at that time because of how wildly they mixed stereo back then.
Digital tempo is still all wrong. Tracks mixed all out of pairing, The closest I have heard since the original release but, still things have been held back. Mind you, I dont mind the Missing Sub sonic that has killed most other things today, stripping away 75% of the back ground melody. Seems like that was never recovered tho. Broken hearted.
OneVancatPlace I dont believe these we mixed digitally. These are recorded directly for the record I have. of course my record player could have been on a slightly off speed that particular day.
The Zombies were so underrated, a talented group, one of the British Invasions finest, thank you for posting this gem!!

The Beatles left behind their Mellotron, so Rod Argent used it. They could not afford strings and brass players.
Going to see them live next month (April 2023). Last saw them about six years ago. They are amazing.

I've gotten their songs all around me of late and am SO glad for it. They are marvelous!
It's amazing and tragic that a band (and singer) can be this be great still end up largely ignored.
True enough Modes--but hey, they were just inducted into the Rock Hall of Fame last month and they performed and sounded great!!
