In this video, I'm giving you one fact about every character in The Simpsons by Matt Groening. Some will be facts only die-hard fans will know, fun facts, facts you should know, and others you didn't know about your favorite Springfield residents.
Also, I’ll only be covering recurring characters - ones that have appeared in a good handful of episodes. That means no celebs or one offs. There'll be a couple of exceptions to this rule, but if I talked about every single character that ever appeared in The Simpsons, this video would be a week long. And it would be extremely boring too.
But as a little challenge, if I have missed a character then please provide a lil interesting fact about them down in the comments. But to do that, you have to watch the full video!

I thought his final speaking role was in seaosn 30 for some reason I knew he did speak from seasons 20-28 for sure though
I gave my dad the nickname “Radioactive Man” while he was going through radiation therapy for cancer last year. I can gladly tell you that I was able to retire his name of “Radioactive Man” as he is now cancer free! ❤

Lydia, it is a compliment when people tell you they listen to your videos to fall asleep, it says you have a soothing, calming and relaxing voice. The viewer gets to sleep, your video/s gets viewed, its a win-win for all involved.

• His beard is (supposedly) a tattoo.
• As a boy, he ran away from home after one-too-many attempts by Marvin to cure his bed-wetting through makeshift electroshock treatment.

I’m one of those people who falls asleep to videos of some youtubers but whenever I do I always either rewatch the video later or watch it before hand so I never miss any content 😅

Mrs. Glick was seen alive again in the season 35 episode where Abe was moved to a cheaper room at the Retirement Castle.
She's come back to life again haha
@@TheSimpsonsTheory I think Mrs. Glick may be a Time Lord who has been cursed to keep the same face with every regeneration, which would explain why she always alternates between being alive and dead between appearances.

A random bit of trivia about the Nahasapeemapetilon Octuplets: according to concept art, Gheet and Sandeep had each other's names, and Uma originally had pigtails. As well as this, all the female ones would've had the Bindi dot on their foreheads, which was later dropped.
Oh yeah I remember seeing concept art from that episode in the book: The Simpsons beyond forever episode guide season 11 and 12.
The fact that Mr. Burns was originally voiced by the voice actor that voiced Starscream. Damn.

@@TheSimpsonsTheory He was recurring. He was in 3 episodes speaking thus far and does appear as a background character sometimes since his first appearance. He's voiced by discount Bill Burr Michael Rappaport.

It’s nice that The Simpsons paid tribute to Chespirito and his well known character The Red Grasshopper with Bumblebee Man.

Highly doubt you’ll see this comment but Kang and Kodos have not actually appeared in every Treehouse of Horror. Unless you want to count their voice over in the intro, they have not made a physical appearance in Treehouse of Horror XXV. They even made a joke of it a few episodes later of Season 26 Episode 7, Blazed and Confused, Kang and Kodos complain about one of them doing too much makeup in the intro and missing Halloween.

My favorite Jasper fact is in a deleted scene he was the previous preacher before Reverend Lovejoy.

Apparently that deleted scene was from in marge we trust. I'm not sure if it's been mentioned in any other episode.

- Michael Jackson actually voiced him, but he was credited as John Jay Smith! Though, the creators (and Michael as well) did not want his singing voice to sound very similar to mj's. So, Kipp Lennon was hired to sing instead of mj! He was trained by Michael Jackson himself!
Using Kip Lennon for the singing was Michael's idea, who said it was a joke on his brothers, according to the DVD commentary.

I listen to your videos while I'm wide awake, but I would not deny that you have a very pleasant voice that is is nice to listen to. I imagine folks who fall asleep to your videos find it comforting compared to some of the more harsh voices that can be found on RUclips

Originally I did have a fact for him but because I'm only covering recurring characters I couldn't justify including 1 time Grimes, otherwise I'd have to start including every other 1 time guest stars and there's like 200 of them

Out of all these characters, there’s two favorites of mine that is notably missing.
Norbert Van Houten (Milhouse’s uncle), and Milo (the other comic book store owner)
They’re each only in one episode to be fair. I was just curious to see them. Still an amazing video though 👍

50:52 I know it's kinda off topic but here's a cool fun fact: when Keith Scott was auditioning for Diesel ten in Thomas and the magic railroad he did a Sideshow Bob impression but test audiences thought it was way too scary so he dropped the voice. bonus fact for The Yes Guy...in the show its been explained to why he says "yes" that way. In the episode "Mayored to the mob". Homer asks him why. to which he replied (and in a very similar fashion) "I had a stroke"
Apu was one of the best side characters in the series.... and the only reason he was seen as offensive is because of his accent, which is sad cuz otherwise the majority of the time he was some one who you could look up to (as far as The Simpsons go)

Seriously, your videos are what got me back into the Simpsons.
Also has Charlmers met Grimes maybe it would make Grimes a little more calmer.
Considering how long it felt like it took for the Simpsons to finally get a movie, the fact there's been almost as many seasons AFTER the movie as there were BEFORE it feels wrong. The movie came out after season 18, and episode 400. We're now on the 17th post-movie season, and in about two seasons we'll pass 800 episodes. The idea that, in only a couple years, there will be more post-movie episodes than there are pre-movie ones is insane.
Also, the reason I'm talking about the movie is the Hank Scorpio fact made me think about it.

Definitely take the comments of your videos helping people sleep as a compliment. I watched many of your videos, many times over.
So listening to them later to help us sleep is saying they've become a comfort and soothing. I myself have a busy mind so it can be hard for me to sleep since I'm over thinking.
I often put on videos (yours too) in the background so my mind is focused on on that. If it's a video I've seen before, that really helps as it blocks out all other little noises or thoughts. I just listen with my eyes closed til I fall asleep. It's comforting

Trust me the falling asleep thing is a compliment but here's something that is one hundred percent a compliment I don't watch Simpsons or Family guy or American dad or any of the cartoons you've talked about so far but I still enjoy your videos.
Pretty sure its a case of the chill vibes you give off in vids help people calm down enough to sleep, especially if they're having trouble with getting their thoughts to slow down.
