i hate this update, i played with my friend a few days ago and we both hated it. ik it’s an old game but it feels so.. cheap? it doesn’t have the same energy it did a few years ago
When you make a classic version to the game. It's perfectly a reason to monetize the game to a newer audience while keeping the older audience with that classic one. Even the songs were there. Except level 21, 24 and 25. Cuz those are copyrighted
Also when the pet update released you needed money to unlock standard levels... Luckily the paywalls were removed, but still I would prefer if Vurse didn't change anything past The Donut update.
As of right now, you can’t even beat all of the levels as a free to play player like myself. The maximum amount of stars you can get for free (albeit with a lot of effort and time) is 265. After forbidden level 4 there are not enough levels to get you to the asking price of level 5, being 360 stars. I do still enjoy this game, and I actually kind of like the addition of pets. It makes trails much more accessible and faster to obtain for many players. The monetization in this game has always been kinda predatory, and I wish there was still an option to complete all of the worlds for free without forking over robux. Great video!
a reason why this happens is that the average 8 year old on their mothers ipad will only play games with bright visuals and low effort, compared to games with medium visuals and actually good effort. this happened to a game i played called flood escape 2, since after the creator lost the innovation awards to crappy games called tower of hell and obby on a bike, he had to make the game more appealing for the young kids by adding more common aspects of front page games such as bright thumbnails. it surprisingly is effective as far as i can see. however, i really wish roblox is not like this forever since its restricting the quality of games in order to get more player which is very sad. the cartoony vibe really needs to stop
one of the worst things that i haven’t seen anyone talk about is before you were going from easy to harder, and the last 5 levels were fairly hard, the candy level? the gear level? i don’t think i’ve completed those first try EVER, and they are so annoying, but it feels SO SATISFYING when you finish them and get closer to the end until you complete it. now there’s 15 more difficult levels (that also look nothing like the rest of the game which i find really stupid?) that make me want to quit instead of keep going to feel the satisfaction of completing it. It might make me sound like a wuss who can’t do obbies, but the game set its own difficulty years ago and then they added a bunch of difficult, different styled - appearance and parkour wise - levels and i reallt just miss the blocky style.
I personally do think that the new update is fun, not because im addicted to bright colors, or the pet system. When you leave the game, it automatically gets saved and when you join back it goes to the level you were previously on. I will say, the new levels are good, but the jump between level 29 and level 30 is oblivious. They dont even look the same anymore, and the childhood blocky design is gone! I feel like the game has turned into a money making game where it was originally supposed to be an obby game. They literally removed the original topic of the game and replaced with a pet system. I will say, the game is fun, but was it really ment to turn into this?

as a og speed run 4 player i can say that this update is disapointing
2:35 you can keep the same style even if it is very old. a great example is super mario maker 1-2, they made new enemys for super mario bros 1 style
