- The US national guard. The 83rd mechanized sneak up on the town that been over taken by a tripod from Mars. Civilians caught up in the cross fire. While fleeing from their shelters have been hiding up for days. 83rd has setup evac zone to get civilians out before its to late. Can the military hold off till then?

@@kriegertechpriest7011 Good eye😉 I did put the size of the scale up a little bit. This tripod had over million hit points. Was never gonna go down. Basically the uber pods that we see in the hill scene had thicker legs and bigger body. Going by the 2005 movie the 83rd got wipe out. Spewing couldn't found a reporter van to use in this but😓

Every production, movie or game, usually shows humanity barely holding off the Tripods for any amount of time. I feel as if NONE have ever shown an even half-realistic portrayal of human forces launching an aggressive assault using combined arms against them, with infantry using the cover of terrain and buildings to set up spotter positions and ambushes against the Tripods.

@@tow3lie773 It was funny to see later that the Russians managed to draw the Tripods into an entrenched fight using buildings as cover, mostly wiping out the Tripods in exchange for heavy losses. Sadly, such outcomes are likely the outcome of such unfair technological battles.

That's so true. Any technology advanced race would just dominated the lower species. But in masses they have a fighting chance. WWII Germans had the most advanced tanks but Americans always make sure to out number 4 to 1 to make sure they would have a fighting chance to win but alot poor souls payed the price. Why U.S never went to advanced tanks rather pump out numbers keep them simple to make and cheaper. Bomb the shit out of German factory's help too😅 History has alot of examples. One day we will be the Red Indians vs space invaders😬

With our Tech 1 technology we we pose threat yet. Nukes are cave man weapons to tech 2 races. Won't see it in our life time. Unless something picks up voyager 1 or 2 satellites😅 Cause we left metal disc with information where to found us and our DNA what humans are😬 But they really not that far out haha We will be long dead before they get close to another galaxy
The 83rd should've tried flanking maneuvers here, it hurt to watch the abrams all lined up and not utilizing their speed!

It just adds to how scary they really are. In the beginning you're in awe by the sheer amount of firepower that the military amassed against the pod. Then some time later, you're horrified that all vehicles and personel are eliminated.

I would LOVE a military shooter based on this premise. More interesting details and a full blown "warfare" alternate scenario. I mean, we all know how it ends but it would still be fun to experience.

When you download and start playing Call to Arms (as great a game as it is) you realise how much time and effort went into this video!! It's not like Age of Empires, you don't just drop a bunch of soldiers and let them have at it. Great work!!
Amen to that👍 Thank you! It does mean alot! CTA of it age's still pulls throw to this day. Yeah.. it's no easy task to run throw FPV and have everything work together well. Wayoints,triggers etc. Does take time. But fun and entertaining to do none the less since MOW days. Random battle's I did for fun. Limitations of the engine is challenging at some times tho haha.

I’ve always been fascinated with the idea of how the military would handle stuff like this. If something like this happened now, somebody would refer to this movie and we’d be suicide drone swarming the hell out of those robot things.
Same Boom why i created these battles on my idea how they would handle it. Recon then a fast aggressive attack. Not piss fart around like they do in most the movies. If you can say this a probe attack for hill scene coming up😉 Still I won't make it yet till WOTW mod moves to GOH.
True that👍 Railguns, laser tech, sonic missiles, frequency wave weapons. But the drones need satellites to operate so if the aliens are smart just wipe them out before launching their attack. That we have no defence for yet.. Or a bunch tom curise clones with hand grenades🤣

I've always thought it hilarious that the military didn't create massively and densely packed minefields long prior to battle while having scouts harass and goad the damn things into stepping onto said mines. The Shields exist like a blister. It doesn't fully cover the ground under the feet, thus if anything gets in the blister and damages the feet, it's over. Also, they could have ambush squads that let the tripod close over them then fire up en masse with stinger RPGs at the tripods' drive unit. Mechs are bloody awesome but not invincible. In fact the only type of Mech that comes close in sci-fi to damn near invincible is an Imperator-pattern Titan from Warhammer 40k.

Pretty cool set up, although its all fake. Some story writer decided to include impenetrable shields for the aliens lol. I can re-write this story to not include the shields, but obviously all the tripods would be completely defeated in a matter of hours and the movie/plot would last 5 minutes.

I wanted to ask how do you make those battles, I assume in editor but whenever I try to use the war of the worlds mod in editor it doesn’t work. (Btw you earned a new sub because war of the worlds call to arms is awesome)
Cheers mate👍 Yeah few ppl have this problem.
1. CTA verison 1.228.0 is only one that works. So if your in the beta version version need to op out or update.
2.Make sure to load AVS platform mod first. Click apply then wait. Then load WOTW mod click apply and wait.
3.Make sure you haven't got any other mods loaded. Most other mods will give you error. Some work. Load up editor should work.
4. Sometimes I get a error loading up saying some assets didn't load. If your lucky it's once if not so lucky takes like 10 times to load in. Just Ok to error and retry.
5. Most maps work but some don't. To found out if a map works. Load it up in F3 and click save as. If you get an error saving that map doesn't work and retry a another map

I got an idea..Do one where there is 30 helicopters with tanks and do a city map and make it look realistic with jets going by yk and armies gathering up shooting them with all fire power

Can't wait to see it! Just sound effects from the net and used them throw a video editor. Had over 10 sound effects in that video. Even the A-10's had real life sound effects.

Yeah they pull off cause copyright laws with the US. Yes it was another mod. Sorry can't remember the name but it big sized mod on the steam workshop.

Alot of firepower. Watch the first video both tripods go down👍 Tho in real life we are screwed haha. Still think enough explosives underground would disable them. Yes they came out of ground but was compacted.

Since there shields protect them from heat projectiles a bomb isn't hot till it physically hits the thing so it's not rocket science these things would be easy to take down a f15 loitering at 20k feat could drop beam riding GBU24 PAVEWAYS TOP down on it and it would work we would have defeated the tripods pretty quickly we would have slaped them
Kinda disagree with that. Those energy shields block anything that is fast moving. Any object that's fast moving. 99% of humans weapons are based off that principle. Bomb travling at high speed. Shield would still stop it. All projectile weapons would fail. Need to be a energy based weapon to actually do something. Tho I couldn't imagine the shields are unlimited power. Sure enough and alot of fire-power would take down one. But multiple ones we wouldn't have a fighting chance. Including they wipe out all our power and communications for the military including satellites etc. No organised attacks. Only reason why military vehicles still operating cause most are emp proof. After all the nuke testing back in the 50's/60's. Most of 60% U.S forces are not homeland. So wouldn't be much homeland forces left to defend.

it's a bit unrealistic, I understand the advanced technology and the protective shield, but is that thing really indestructible? realistically, that shield will be destroyed at a given moment, what's the point of putting 1000 tanks, helicopters, planes and soldiers and have them all destroyed by a single tripod, if that shield is indestructible, not even a nuclear bomb can destroy it, the shield should be updated . it should be destroyed after a certain damage or at least have people armed with viruses to kill them like in the movie or to deactivate their shield with a virus or something
I changed it so it wouldn't get destroyed😉 In the game (CTA) (WOTW mod) they can go down quiet quickly with the right weapons. Tho I changed it for the 2005 movie cause this was set 1/2 day of the invasion. Military forces didn't know how much force to throw at the tripods. In the movie, martians go down by the natural forces of nature. Bacteria that our body's have immunity to. No human intervention caused them to die off. In this movie story. "After all man's weapons and devices failed". None of our tech1 technology weapons could of taken the tripods down, including nukes. Maybe push it over or blow them sky high😅 Emp did not effect them. So the shields were invincible. But.. These aliens from mars buried the tripods in the ground for centurys but not knowing what gems we have.. Someone high up in the alien world would of got fired for that🤣
