Nice to hear a review with some proper bass lines, that replicate playing in a band setting, rather than a load of upper register twiddling that so many others do. Thanks.
Totally agree. The tapping, slapping harmonic nonsense is totally useless in a real world setting 99.9% of the time and for the life of me I don’t understand why these young players devote so much time to techniques that are virtually useless as a professional player. I say this as a studio and touring musician with 50 years of playing under my belt. I’m also a music contractor and would never hire most of these RUclipsrs who play this nonsense. Advice kiddos - be bass players if you ever want to work. Leave the guitar stuff to the guitarists. Anyway this was a proper well done demo. I also own this bass and love it.
Gran bajo empezé con un precisión hace 40 años y todavía estoy con el precisión ......y probando el jazz y el PJ de Fender mi timbré es este ...y tengo 61 . años
Good review! Still stuck between The Pro 2, or the USA Original Series P Bass for my next Fender. Custom Shop is too pricey, and I hate import knock offs, so these are great options...
All the same pretty much apart from the thumb rest and ash tray which come with the original and the pick up. The Am 2 Pro has more definition. If you wanted, I guess you could change the pick-up out for a CS’s 60’s P bass split single coil. Other than that, the Am Pro 2 has the same style of neck, pretty much the same weight, made of the same woods (which for me, is where it really matters). I think the OG 60’s is more for purist and nostalgia. This one in the vid, maybe a slightly better and more modern bass.
This bass sounds good straight out of the box with fender 7250 round wounds…It’s a modern fresh sound…If you have to have a flat wound sound, maybe an earlier vintage P. Don’t mean to be controversial, but I have both the pro 1 and pro 2, have used flats on both, and yes they sound good, but these basses do take on a life of their own with rounds…
I have the precision, I put TI flats on them, played 9 months, then bought DR lo rider string and oh boy my fender came to life you re right about that
I have the Pro 1 Pbass and thinking about getting a Pro 2 Pbass as well but not sure about the "sculpted" heel neck, I think it looks kinda wrong. How do you like it?
Unfair Query: If U could only get one of these 2 basses, which one would U choose: 1) Fender Americian Pro II P Bass or 2) G&L CLF L-1000. No response required if U R unconfortable in answering. Thx

BEHS!!!! But like… in a professional setting. Love this dude
I really think that Miami blue colour could be prescribed as an antidepressant!
That's what I like to see ...a proper bass player giving a great review backed up with awesome playing ...Great work
Thanks Andy
I really love the playing demonstration without all the fancy stuff. Got the true feel of the sound and playing that we mere mortals will be doing. 👍

That is a nice bass 👍
That is an awesome P bass. Can I ask you what strings you had on the P--Bass and its gage? Also what is the recording setup. Thanks!
