Sarv and Jim introduced it when they took over the band (27? years ago). "In My Life" was introduced when they started to be the song that we sing at the end, similar to how the UMass band, which they were in, plays it at the end of every game. At this point, almost everybody has left the game except the band people The last note Dr. Sarver usually makes kind of a show of having the band hold for an obnoxiously long time like this as the percussion runs around
@@amartin5253 Thank you. It's really a neat thing. I like when bands use great songs -- Stanford (All RIght Now), Ohio State (Hang On Sloopy), Florida (I Won't Back Down). And Rocky Top, of course! First saw a game at Delaware Stadium in 1971 when I was a student at West Park Place Elementary.
That is our other fight song "Delaware Forever," which we also play on any field goal or 2 point conversion. If you are trying to find it online, it is adapted from the trio of the "University of Pennsylvania Band March."
@@amartin5253 I was in the marching band in 1975 and 1976. The sheet music we had was titled "University of Pennsylvania March." In band practice it was referred to simply as 'the downfield march.'
LOVE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thanks for posting. This was my entire childhood!
Love the fight song.
Greetings from Germany, from now on Delaware will be my favorite FCS Football Team.
EMCproductions, where you at?
Wow-I love this video! I was a male cheerleader at the U of D in "74.
Wow...I’m actually in the video...brown sweatshirt sitting next to a guy in blue in first 40 seconds of video
What's the history behind playing of "In My Life" and running around when it's over? When did this start?
