High productivity and accuracy with FICEP CADDY 140 mechanical bars shear

The CADDY 140 is a mechanical shears with horizontal slide, designed to operate in full automatic mode, starting from the bar bundle up to the unloading of the finished parts.
The machine employs a unique design to reduce distortion and maintain a constant sheared part volume. Split shearing knives are improved to conform to the bars outside diameter to minimize any roll over during the shearing process. On the outfeed side of the shearing knives a positive work holding device is located to clamp the bar to eliminate any rollover during the shearing process. This substantially reduces any distortion during the cutting process.
The shear can rotate to allow an oriented angle of the blades, which together with the rake, ensures the achievement of perfect shearing surfaces.
The CADDY 140 uses a horizontal engagement so the actual shearing plane can be adjusted to remain perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of the bar being processed. This achieves increased uniformity of the sheared end of the bar.
The mechanical engagement of the CADDY 140 bar shear develops extreme productivity when generating sheared parts. Scraps are automatically separated from finished parts to eliminate any operator involvement.
When required, the next stock length bar is loaded onto the infeed conveyor to maintain continuous operation and to eliminate any loss of productivity. As parts are being generated an automatic weighing system constantly is checking the actual part’s weight and adjust the length if necessary to achieve part consistency. Laser control of the bars’ dimensional tolerances before the shearing operation, is an optional accessory available.
