    I wanted to take you along with me on a photo shoot in the forest, where my friend, Kasia, took amazing photos of my jewelry collection for the upcoming shop update. We had a lot of fun, despite that little accident haha ;) The next day I went to the Krakow city center to visit one of my favorite galleries and gather inspiration. I also went to the library, as I will be doing some research soon and needed to renew my card. I hope you enjoyed this vlog and liked my little "montage" of the artworks! ;) Let me know if you'd like to see more videos that include snippets from my days not necessarily spent in the workshop. Love, Basia x

      I love this necklace so much and I'm so happy that you love it too! Thank you ❤ It's called Las - which means Forest in Polish :) And this museum is one of my favourites - I love art from the 19th century and the Cloth Hall Gallery holds a collection of some of the greatest paintings from that period by Polish artists, some of my favourites are Jacek Malczewski, Jozef Chelmonski, Leon Wyczolkowski, Wladyslaw Podkowisnki and Aleksander Gierymski :)

    What a lovely spot and better yet you can work with a friend, the best days! Kasia is like me I think preferring to be behind the camera than in front! My friend Pam is a photographer and she did our wedding, her best ones were when I didn’t realise she was taking photos, but it was so much more fun with a friend ❤ hope you both had a amazing day and the photos are STUNNING. 😊😊😊

      I couldn't agree with you more! It makes all the difference when it's a good friend and someone you can trust :) And I agree - the photos that are taken without knowing are often even better and more intimate ❤ I love them too. Thank you so much for watching and for your sweet comment! I appreciate it a lot ❤

      hahaha EXACTLY!! Of course he was messing with us! 😂 You know, now that I think about it - I DID feel a slight push on my back, because I've never fallen off of a tree like this before. I'm sure that was it, and not me not having any practice balancing on trees for the past couple of decades.... 😂

    Basia, I DID see the pain in your eyes - hahahah! Ouch! I've that same thing. The photo shoot was fantastic, it is so inspiring to be in nature and the lighting was exquisite. Kasia is indeed a good photographer. I have a quick question, was Kasia using your camera or a different one? I am looking into getting a new camera and I know what you have shown us of your equipment. Thanks for a great video again, they transpot me!

      @TheArtOfMetalsmithing  9 месяцев назад

      I'm very happy you enjoyed it, thank you for your kind words! 💕
      Kasia is a professional photographer, so she has more advanced gear (that's why we work together on these photo shoots). I believe her cameras and lens are by Sony, it's different to my Canon. I'm thinking about upgrading my own camera too, to Fujifilm. Haven't made my decision yet, but let me tell you this - lots of cameras that are slightly more advanced will give you excellent results 😀 For photos, I do recommend the Canon Rebel series with a 50mm 1.8f lens, I take all of my product photos with this one and it's wonderful :)

    Hey lovely, hello from Aussieland! I had a quick question for you, so im looking at setting up a smallish smithing setup (was going to be a whole room but I now need to fit in a wfh station in the same room so im semi limited space wise. I was looking at the Ikea FÖRHÖJA kitchen trolley you have in some older videos or would you suggest something more like the Kullerburg desk? I like the look of the trolley as its taller and you can attach a bench pin but the desk has more surface area. Would you go with the trolley?

    Dziękuję za Twoją pracę bardzo doceniam Twoje treści❤ dopiero zaczynam kompletować swój jubilerski sprzęt i zastanawiam się czy muszę inwestować w frezarkę do polerowania metalu, czy wystarczą mi inne bardziej tradycyjne metody?

    • @TheArtOfMetalsmithing
      @TheArtOfMetalsmithing  8 месяцев назад

      Nie ma za co! bardzo się cieszę, że podobają Ci się filmiki :)) Powiem tak - wystarczą tradycyjne metody, ale frezarka będzie najlepszą inwestycją, jaką możesz zrobić! Zaoszczędzi mnóstwo czasu, pracy i energii, można z nią robić million rzeczy (wykańczanie, faktury, wzory, polerowanie, czyszczenie...) i bardzo pomaga w pracy. Także poważnie zachęcam do takiego narzędzia :)

      Thank you! ❤ Yes, unfortunately it's quite expensive. I buy mine from the UK, there are several sellers that stock it. But with the shipping to Poland and customs - it adds up and the wire ends up being quite expensive :(
