Basically, Op decided to get married and decided not to invite any of their siblings as they were hurt for not heing invited to their sibling'd. Op's parents got really mad and said that they wanted to see all their kids together and happy (which is pretty ironic??) and op said they would not, unless they ABSOLUTELY explained everything. They then revealed that op was actually not their sibling but their cousin so they didn't want them to be a part of their lives. Op and their fiancé decided to have a wedding with only a several friends to which OPs mom got really mad as they were not having a big flashy wedding. Therefore op only invited several close friends as they did not want the day to be about their cousins and aunty and uncle.

    full story-
each sibling suddenly wanted hild free weddings each time and every year would up the age specifically so OP wouldn't be allowed. even her sister yelled at her that it would be unfair and because OP got mad OP was "GROUNDED FOR SIX MONTHS", then even at 17 her brother made the cut off EXACTLY 18, this brought OP closer to her boyfriend and later that boyfriend would be her fiance/husband.
she didn't invite them to her wedding and they tried to play the family card and her mother said she wanted all the kids together for the wedding but OP said if they wanted to go they had to explain why it felt personal to her.
OP was actually adopted.... you see their uncle had a kid with a random woman and then he died and so their parents adopted the baby, the baby was OP. oldest brother HATED her because she was so young and needed attention AS A BABY and so all of them grew to not like her or view her as their real sibling. OP and her husband decided no family at the wedding because neither wanted a big flashy event and instead had a small thing with some friends. it pissed OPs parents off.

When my sister left for a foster family and left me behind in our abusive family with the argument, "you were so young you couldn't remember anything" it took me 50 years to forgive her ...

I would be more concerned about keeping minors away from intoxicated adults who might do something to them. I speak from personal experience as an 11 year old attendee to a cousin’s alcohol wedding where the groom’s drunk college buddies encircled me and put a blow up adult toy doll on my shoulders would not let me get away or take the adult toy off my shoulders, all the while laughing at my distress.

It's a very weird story. Being grounded for 6 months. Asking them "why" they didn't include when it's been already stated it was child free. They invited her step cousin, so her being their cousin as a reason doesn't make any sense at all. Planning a type of wedding you suddenly realised you didn't want...Idk

Child free weddings should have exceptions made, personally I think it should be anyone under 13 should not be allowed to attend unless they are babies and cannot be left with a sitter, in which case an exception could be made, and ofc the bride and grooms siblings/childreb/niblings should be invited

Do people really "invite" family members? Do they send separate invitations? One to mom, one to dad, one to each sibling/relative and spouse, one to each pair listing each family member invited separately? if the bride or groom already had a child under 18 that could sit still and behave, would it not be invited?
