Theory: based on some of the tumblr posts Past nood is an ass hole and is really toxic and stuff and aaa. So like past nood did something to those weird snek things. Like make them mad or make an agreement. And they like sorta like sneaked in his head?? This brings us to present nood with the sneks possessing him with negative thoughts and pessimism, along with hurting others (look at unintentionally toxic) but actual present nood likes himself somewhat and has fixed himself. He decides to forgive past nood for making him so miserable. But past nood is still a fat biach lol So then a while after, present nood is (I'm not sure about dis part) putting a bit of an end to his pessimism.
