Me and my son were as well. Poor bear does not need a couple of idiots annoying it.
Never ever ride an elevator or escalator in China or in any Asian country except Japan. The safety standards in those countries are non-existent. There are many fatal accidents recorded, and many are not even recorded.

50 odd years ago, one of my older brothers had a holiday in France with a couple of his university friends. They were driving along and had stopped to take some 'photos so my brother being an entomologist started looking through a pile of boulders for bugs. As was his trait. He couldn't find anything but picked up a good hand sized flint boulder as it looked good. It was half of one and it was the inside that drew my brothers attention.
They all got back into the car and drove a couple miles down the road before one of the lads needed to get out for a pee.
So once again, by brother found another pile of rocks and started bug hunting. But a hand sided flint boulder got his attention. So he picked it up. Went back to the car where he'd kept the other boulder and it was a perfect match. Both halves seamlessly slotted together. 2 halves of one boulder 2 miles apart now together!
So how he has a boulder in his lounge that visitors always ask, _"Why do you have a dumb looking rock on display?"_
Interesting story, one I would believe because I found 2 halves to a stone about half a mile apart in my country. I wish I had kept them.
If these people were actually lucky they would not have been in those situations in the first place.

If SCUBA diving you should have a dive flag near. At least on your support boat. Lakes we dragged one on a float around to avoid boats go8ng over.
