今日茶席，第428席【邊活邊悟】
京都盆地的夏日如預期般炎熱，稍一動作便渾身溼透，心情可以涼爽，皮囊卻要遭罪。不知道選擇在這裡建都時的人們，是否考慮過夏日的酷熱？或許因此，古人才想出來祇園祭這樣的活動，打發難熬的夏日。進入八月，暑期似乎特別忙碌，新展廳的工事，各種的約定以及日常的瑣碎。還有來自萬福寺【月見茶會】（黃檗宗總本山）與觀峰館（館藏兩萬多幅明清到民國書畫藏品的私立美術館）【秋季清代文人主題特別展】上的中國茶席的委託與邀約。倒是可以藉此在島國人民面前聊一聊中國文化，期待之餘，卻還是要花費心思去用心準備。來京都多年，冷眼旁觀，與那些熱鬧都市不同，唯有文化做生產力，才能換來這座以文化為榮的古都的側目與尊重。我也把這看作是承擔自身命運的一部分。邊活邊悟，記得夏目涑石先生說：世界上最厲害的本領是什麼？ 是以愉悅的心情老去，是在想工作的時候能選擇休息， 是在想說話的時候保持沉默，是在失望的時候又燃起希望， 順從且平靜地，揹負起自己的十字架。

🍵今日の茶席　第428回【人生を通して学ぶ】🍵
京都盆地の夏はやはり暑く、少し動いただけなのに汗がびっしょりになってしまいます。気分こそ涼しいですが、身体は疲弊します。ここに都を築くことを選んだ人たちは、この夏の酷暑について考えなかったのでしょうか？　あるいはそれゆえに古代人は祇園祭のような行事を考えだして過ごし難い夏を乗り越えようとしたのですね。
この八月の暑さの中、特別忙しくなりそうです。新しいギャラリーの建設工事や、さまざまな契約や日常の物事でいっぱいです。
萬福寺（黄檗宗の総本山）の「月見茶会」と、観峰館（2万件以上の明代・清代・中華民国時代の書画を収蔵する私立美術館）の「秋季清代文人特別展」で中国茶石の依頼と招待を受けました。
この機会を利用して、日本人の前で中国文化についてお話ししたいと思います。期待もありますが、しっかりと準備をする必要もありますね。これも自分が引き受けるべき運命の一部ですね。
京都に来て長い時間が経ちましたが、冷静に考えても、この文化的な古都の注目と尊敬は、よくある賑やかな都市とは違って、文化を生み出す力によってでしか得られないものだと思います。
人生を通して学ぶ。夏目漱石先生の言葉を想起します。世界で最も大切な能力はなんですか？　それは幸せな気持ちで歳をとること、働きたい時に休息を取ること、話したいときに沈黙を守ること、絶望の中で希望を再び持つこと、そして従順かつ平静な気持ちで自分の十字架を背負うことです。
🍵Today's Tea Party No. 428 [Learning Through Life]🍵
The summer in the Kyoto Basin is hot, and even a little movement makes me drenched in sweat. I feel cool, but my body is exhausted. Didn't the people who chose to build capital city here think about the intense heat of summer? Or perhaps that's why ancient people came up with events like the Gion Festival to overcome the harsh summer.
It's going to be especially busy in this August heat. I'm full of construction work for a new gallery, various contracts, and daily things.
I was asked and invited to present Chinese tea stones at the "Moon Viewing Tea Ceremony" at Manpukuji Temple (the head temple of the Obaku Sect of Buddhism) and the "Autumn Special Exhibition of Qing Dynasty Scholars" at Kanpokan (a private art museum with a collection of over 20,000 calligraphy and paintings from the Ming, Qing, and Republic of China periods).
I would like to take this opportunity to talk about Chinese culture in front of the Japanese people. I'm excited, but I also need to prepare well. This is also part of my fate that I must accept.
It has been a long time since I came to Kyoto, and when I think about it objectively, I believe that the attention and respect that this ancient cultural capital receives can only be earned through its ability to create culture, unlike that of other bustling cities.
Learning throughout life. This reminds me of the words of Natsume Soseki. What is the most important ability in the world? It is to grow old happily, to rest when you want to work, to remain silent when you want to speak, to find hope again in the midst of despair, and to bear one's cross obediently and serenity.
