"... and get ready for the day." Did you seriously just say that after starting fires, feeding animals, bringing in wood, having breakfast, doing laundry... I'm really enjoy your videos. Everything seems so calm and just moving along doing your thing. And don't worry, you're not alone with butter in your oatmeal. Try it in some homemade stew someday :)
I don't even have the tiniest critique. All I see is thriving that's helping others to thrive. Be encouraged. I know there is love and gratitude from wherever your viewers are for you and your family.
I use farmer to farmer oats too! I dice up apples and add cinnamon it’s delicious. Or maple syrup and wild organic frozen blueberries. I use Molly suds no chemicals for laundry.
You appear so relaxed for a busy mum, its no wonder you have such a healthy appetite. You are obviously very pretty but I love the fact that you make an effort with your appearance despite being at home, I've always thought a drop of self love really put you in a positive mindset for the day and keeps every day fresh, despite the routine. Thanks for sharing, enjoy your week.
I love your videos so much! I grew up this way and also raised my 3 kids alone this way. I love how smoothly you go about your routine and i love how you include your daughters in what you are doing, i esp love that you give your little one a simple chore to do! They are both so precious! I also eat a lot esp breakfast because i lead an active and physical lifestyle which requires nourishment!😊 I love butter in oatmeal but also maple syrup or a bit of brown sugar and thick cream! Lol😂 Thank you for sharing with us!❤
New to your channel. Age 75, I have 3 fractures in my humerus so I started looking for something to watch on UTube and came across your channel and many others like yours. Mostly Canadian. So far very interesting. 👋🇨🇦
This is so inspiring! 🌟 Living off-grid while being a solo mom of two must come with its own set of challenges, but you handle it all with such grace and strength. 💪 The morning routine really shows how much dedication and care goes into making everything work, from the little ones to the off-grid lifestyle. 🌱💚 It's a beautiful reminder that with determination, you can create a peaceful and fulfilling life no matter the circumstances. Keep it up-you’re doing an amazing job! 👏
Thanks so much for your kind words, I appreciate it! I'm looking forward to that time in the future when my husband will be around more, but for now we make it work and enjoy every day anyway!
I recently found and subbed to your channel and have watched nearly everything, so I was glad to see a new video pop up today. I notice others have been finding you too, and it's fun to see your numbers go up. I really enjoy watching as you all adapt to this new-to-you way of life. Best of luck!
We so enjoy your content and watching your family retrace our footsteps of many years ago. A comment was made about coal as an overnight fuel and yes, it's the only way to go but tricky in a wood stove. We use an old Guelph cook stove for cooking and to heat our cabin. Dodds Coal at Ryley is the only pit of any stature left now and the carbon tax makes it financially crippling but we're still burning it, if only out of defiance. When next your talking with Mark's Mum, give her our best wishes. Robert & Sylvia.
You’re the only other person I know who puts butter in oatmeal. Isn’t it so good? I love how savoury it is. Sometimes I put a fried egg on top as well and let the yolk make its way into the oatmeal. I like to fry it until the bottom of the egg is crispy but the top is still soft. A video on non toxics would be appreciated by me ❤
You are an amazing mom! Love watching your videos and seeing your new adventure with your lovely family. I love having a wood stove. I do recommend getting a gate/screen around your wood stove with little ones around. ❤
From Fort Smith, Arkansas, USA. When, in the past, I had hot oatmeal, I would also add butter. Since I live alone [ retired ], I now have a one pot meals.
Perfect routine you have going on. The NO sugar is great. Bee honey is a fine replacement. The natural immunity benefits are outstanding. Myself being T2 diabetic my Dr approves of me having it 3 times a week before bedtime.
Another good one ! Moms job is never done & when she's off grid there's just a few more, Looks like you adapting very well 👍, I put butter in the water before I put the oatmeal in the pot, 😋I just always have :) Great job take care
So true, always a lot to do. I am doing well, thanks Don. It makes sense to put the butter in the water while it’s cooking, I’ve never thought of that!
I have a wood-burning stove. If I use coal or smokeless fuel, I can set up the stove before I go to bed it can keep my home warm overnight so it's warm in the morning. It makes a lot of difference in the winter. As you probably already know, wood burns hot but doesn't last very long whereas coal/smokeless burns cooler but lasts a lot longer. Some people get up in the middle of the night to refresh their stoves, but I'm too heavy a sleeper to do that. Also, I assume that you are using wood ash as fertiliser. I understand that you can do that with coal ash but not with smokeless fuel ash (due to added chemicals).
If you eat more then maybe you have a higher metabolism, but just think of how much you move around during the day and it makes sense that you need more food. If you sat at an office job, then sat on the sofa, obviously you don’t need a lot of energy to accomplish anything, you are mostly sitting.
That is a good point! I often compare my portions to family members who have a similar lifestyle and I seem to eat way more than them, so I'm thinking it's likely a metabolism thing?
You're doing an amazing job and live in such a nice peaceful environment. You are also very beautiful, so well done for everything! You show an amazing example for all women out there 😉👍
I’m adding an Ayurvedic spice with cinnamon, cardamom, cloves, ginger and allspice to my porridge - very tasty and good for digestion. Hi from Germany, love your videos and mindset 🌿
I’m actually having oatmeal today. Plain with chocolate collagen powder, butter and milk and some pecans on top. So yup I like butter on my oatmeal too. 😊
@ my Grandma used to send us cocowheats from Chicago when I was a kiddo so when I was lucky and Dad was home from deployment he would make them for me and my brother. Now a days I have cocowheats every so often but more often I’ll just take oats and mix chocolate collagen powder in like I did today. 😊
It’s sad you even have to explain what is going on with your little one figuring out how to get past the barricade. Don’t worry you’re doing fine. 😊 just enjoy all the time with the little ones because they grow up fast
I've always put butter in my oatmeal, I thought that was the thing to do. I have watched almost all your videos the last couple of weeks and have subscribed. Greetings from West Central Wisconsin.
I’m definitely interested in homemade makeup! Plus I definitely put butter in my oatmeal. My husband thinks it’s gross but I’ve always done it that way
Here's the size guide I got from Rebecca: "For the women’s coats: Xs hips 37, waist 28, bust 32 S hips 38, waist 30, bust 34 M hips 40, waist 32, bust 36 L hips 42, waist 34, bust 38 Xl hips 45, waist 37, bust 40 Keep in mind that the jackets can comfortably stretch 2-3 inches, so they can fit a fair bit larger than their stated size as well. Hope this helps!"
We have a 450L tank and had it filled a few weeks ago. I think it will last the whole winter, it's going down very slowly. There are a few different companies we can call and will deliver the diesel to us!
The heading says : morning routing of a solo mum of two, but your video starts with I live off grid with my husband and two children.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!....................... WELL WHICH IS IT.???????????????????????
Both! My husband is sometimes away for work for extended periods of time, so I refer to myself as a solo mom during that time. Is there a more accurate term you think I should use?
Thank you for wearing our Urku jacket! It’s amazing to see it in action - your support means a lot to us!🎉
No problem, can't help but share things I genuinely love!

Haha yup! Thanks for the nice comment. Stew? Oooo I’ll have to try that!

Thanks for the comment! Mark says he remembers your family and that your kids were in 4H with him. Small world! I'll let his mom know you said hello!

Crispy fried eggs are soooo good! And thanks for the input on the non toxic products video!

Ever thought of making raised garden beds with skinny logs 🤔 makes for a good fall project for spring planting
Perfect routine you have going on. The NO sugar is great. Bee honey is a fine replacement. The natural immunity benefits are outstanding. Myself being T2 diabetic my Dr approves of me having it 3 times a week before bedtime.
Oh yes, we love honey and use it in other foods for sure. So delicious and good! Thanks for watching!
My English family puts butter in oatmeal. I make mine with a few added pecans and a little chopped apple for sweetness.
Oh yummy, that sounds so good!
Cinnamon is good too.😊
@ oh yes, I forgot to say that. Cinnamon makes everything taste better 😀

Greece says Hello! You are beautiful and lovely. So peaceful.
Hello from Canada! Thanks so much for watching and for the lovely compliment. 😊
Yes. Butter in my oatmeal. I also add dried fruit, milk and splenda.
Apparently there are many that put butter in oatmeal, I had no idea! Mmm dried fruit is so good. What's your favorite to use in oatmeal?
Your videos are SO calming, I really love watching them! Great work as always :)

Hi from Germany, love your videos and mindset 🌿
Oh yummy, that sounds great! Hi from Canada!
We are scottish and ALWAYS eats porridge with a blob of butter and and a shake of salt....if anything sweet was added we'd consider it pudding
Yup, us North Americans are trained to like things overly sweet! I’m trying to reverse that in our family haha
Hi Erica, I'm new to your channel. I'm loving them. Ty for sharing.
Thanks so much for watching!
I’m actually having oatmeal today. Plain with chocolate collagen powder, butter and milk and some pecans on top. So yup I like butter on my oatmeal too. 😊
Oh yummy! My husband grew up eating “chocolate oatmeal” occasionally

I stir butter into my oatmeal! And Blackie is hilarious. Tell me about your sheets; they look different.
She is so funny, I know! I have the linen sheets from Silk and Snow.
Everybody here in Finland adds butter to oatmeal.😀
Oh really? I had no idea!
I’ve heard of people putting peanut butter in oatmeal, but not butter. I like mine with a splash of milk and cinnamon.
I love your way of living. 🇨🇦
Yes, that sounds delicious too. Thanks for watching!
I would totally be interested in your non toxic swaps.
Great! I'm planning on doing that one in a few weeks. Stay tuned!
butter, brown sugar, and milk in my red river cereal
So yummy! I always loved Red River.

I love your jacket. Want to buy one but don’t see a sizing chart on their website.
Here's the size guide I got from Rebecca:
"For the women’s coats:
Xs hips 37, waist 28, bust 32
S hips 38, waist 30, bust 34
M hips 40, waist 32, bust 36
L hips 42, waist 34, bust 38
Xl hips 45, waist 37, bust 40
Keep in mind that the jackets can comfortably stretch 2-3 inches, so they can fit a fair bit larger than their stated size as well. Hope this helps!"
@ thank you!
I like maple syrup in my oatmeal
Maple syrup is so good!!

How far do you need to go to buy your fuel for the generator? How many days worth of fuel can you store during winter's less sunlight?
