Real or not, I feel like they're really good friends. As someone who has studied and worked in theater and film, these things require a sort of genuine connection between actors. You can easily see if they're comfortable doing this or not. Even if this is all just fan service, it takes a whole deal of trust to pull this off without it looking "fake". They exude chemistry through them being mutually comfortable with each other.
Thats absolutly right. I did worked in musical theatre and you see it ,if they are only acted or if they have a good chemistry. They spend so much time together and during the rehersels they come very closed.

Their chemistry is undeniable since the start. They are naturally sweet to each other. There's no force in it. It feels good and very natural. They don't even prepare scene or an act for fan service sometimes, they just went with it. The chemistry is truly unmatched.
For ONCE I can actually agree and possibly believe that these actors have genuine feelings for each other (I don't mean romantically, even as just good friends). They're very natural in their acting and "fan service" (no I am not naive enough to think that all the hugging, cuddling, etc. is just by coincidence and not for the intention of cameras and fans). Regardless of the fact that some of it is absolutely just fan service, it still comes across very genuine and fun for both of them.
There's way too many fans who literally SHIP any BL couple and it's honestly just kind of sad. Like it's PLAIN as day with some actors that they're just playing a role and aren't too happy about it, which is fine bc IDC how they feel about in real life but it does come across in their performance.

I've seen the series first and then i read the novel too, and let me tell you something, i love the novel more than the series. Yibo and Xiao Zhan comunicate their feelings through their eyes and sometimes the story becomes a little dry even tho is just two of them.

Jeez, imagine after all the workshops to ease up for the shooting of the show (and the intimate scenes) you have to spent weeks or even months on tour promoting the show and now advertising a second season. There isn't enough space left to put a sheet of paper between those two. Every sense of personal space or distance - gone! By now they probably know every inch of the others body, their smell in every situation and so forth even if everything we see is fan service.
