This saves a huge amount of time. Thanks Doug. I actually think Rebirth is much easier to use after seeing this. I love the fact that it's so old school. Less people may have the patience for it. Sometimes that's a good thing!
Great video. You mentioned about reading the manual. Where is the manual?! Either I am being very thick or it’s very well hidden as I can’t find one anywhere!
Great video! Any chance anyone has a link for the PDF manual for this app? All of the developer links are gone due to a legal issue, but I'm hoping someone downloaded it...
Awesome tutorial. Thank you so much. Do you have any knowledge if its possible to use a midi controller with that app? I often write propellerheads if they can built in that feature that already was in the pc version. But i never get any answer ... big thanks forward
I did try connecting the pc version with keyrig 49 and AKAI LPD8, but no luck. What it can do is use the laptop keyboard to change the sounds, these seem to be programmed. But the great thing about the pc version is not that, but the 50 mods and 400 songs available. Which make it fun.
Unfortunately, this app no longer exists anywhere, unless you actually bought it years ago, but there is an excellent alternative called Pure Acid, that is on the App Store, and sounds just as good as this
Chris Coles I just reinstalled it to see and it reinstalled on my Air2 running iOS12. And I played a few of the patches and that worked too, but you know this has been discontinued by Propellerhead now because Roland complained. And also I haven’t fully tested the app. It’s not on the actual App Store anymore, I had to search for n my purchased apps section, hope this helps, please don’t blame me if it’s working properly though😎
Thanks Doug i like rebirth and didn’t want to lose it but i also like the new features in iOS 12 so i think it might be worth taking the risk. Love your channel Doug keep up the good work got some really good apps because of your reviews well done.
How do i share my song? i can't seem to be able to share it anywhere. mine only gives me the option to share on soundcloud, email or via iTunes Sharing...
Will Corbin Those are the way to share, however if you have Audiobus and Audioshare you can record your mix directly into Audioshare and then you can get it anywhere. Where did you want to share it?
i would like to save it to my laptop so i can use it in an iTunes playlist as i'm a Dj and would like to use the song i have made for a mix. is there a way i can do that?
WILLERS, Download AudioCopy, then in Rebirth set it to pattern or song depending on if you want to export a loop or the whole song. Then select Audio Copy at the right within Rebirth, that will open the AudioCopy app and allow you to save it as a .wav file. Then you can email it to yourself or send it to iCloud, Google Drive or get it from iTunes when you connect your iPad to you PC.
It was taken off the App Store a long time ago, but of you look in your previously purchased Apps in your App Store Account on your iPad it will be there for you to download again
The Sound Test Room I have an account with Propellerhead reason can you help me with an app from your Propellerhead site instead as I cannot see or download it x
Is it worth learning how to use rebirth? Or are there much easier to use apps that can do the exact same thing? Are the sounds so amazing or what? I'm not sure I get why anyone would want to take the time. What do you think? I am not trying to be negative. There are so many apps to choose from, that I like to be selective in which ones to learn. I am not bad at learning how to use apps but I think you know what I mean. Wouldn't it be amazing if there was a short list of interface styles instead of every new app being so much different? It bugs me when a developer comes out with a totally different interface for the sake of it, but who wants to learn a new way of doing something, every time a new app comes along. Developers should consider interface as the most important thing. No matter how good the sounds are in a new synth app, less people will buy it if the interface requires a series of tutorials instead of being similar to many others already around for years. Interesting topic?
Hi, there are much better apps around now that will do exactly the same thing and more much much easier, the whole thing with Rebirth is its a close as you can get in software to the original Roland iconic and classic hardware, it sounds the same and you pretty much have to program it the same way too, so really it's a nostalgia trip, it does give a huge kick when you actually finish a track though, I'm not even sure how stable it is these days, I haven't used it for ages
@@TheSoundTestRoom i looked inside the rebirth zip file, . ipa extension, & it's just a bunch of samples as far as the drum machines go, so nothing is synthesized, not sure if the classic TR 909 & 808's drumcomputers were samples though ;-) ... but yeah it = a trip of nostalgia for sure !
This is one of the best video tutorials I've watched. Thank you.
Great video, Doug. Thanks.

My first ever music app. Remember thinking 'what the hell do I do?'. Haven't picked it up much since, but might well do now. Thanks again.
Thank you! Very much appreciated tutorial.
God Bless! Great Tutorial! TYVM!
Initialize song from pattern,..that's how it's done! Thanks so much for this :)
Great video!
Nice one thank you!
Thanks this is great! I have this in two of my iPads. Anyone know where I can download rebirth for one of my old computer? Would love that!

Hi Doug can you tell me if rebirth works with iOS 12 not sure is i should upgrade or not. Thanks

the .ipa = out there !

how does one import songs?
It was fun, at least I hope Roland can re-release something similar.
Dude sounds like Neil Buchanan from Art Attack.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

REBIRTH is gone too
