That´s really tough to tell and up to your taste...I exchanged it for a Screamin' Demon, but i also like the JB by Seymour Duncan or the ordinary PAF Pro by DiMarzio. Bare Knuckle have some great PUs like the Mule or the Holy Diver. If it´s really Hard Rock and not metal I´d go for not too hot PAF style PUs

Please,, any tips on getting that tight bottom end chug when palm muting? I have a modeling pedal (helix etc) and i can dial in an awesome tone for chugging palm muting 80s metal riffs but the bass always seems either flubby and loose or too thin and too tight when i dial it back,,, is there an eq tip you can give me to get that perfect tight chug sound but still have enough bass in it? I am just now getting into eq'ing, thanks in advance!!
Puh...to be honest I´m probably the wrong guy to ask about chugging, since i come more from the mid pronounced 70s or 80s guitar sound. But first of all you should dial out the mids and get that typical V-"Bathtub" shape in the eq. Maybe also try an amp model that suits that HiGain Tone like a 5150, SLO100 or Mesa. Maybe there´s also a tight knob to keep the low frequencies more under control and tighter
Definetly both great guitars, but i like the option of a single coil at the neck and many beloved players like George Lynch and Warren deMartini also have the HS Configuration, apart of that i love reversed headstocks:)

Hmm, i only the know the 565 - i guess that´s a matter of taste - they both have 5 PU settings though..i just love the look of the 565 more

@yes but it still sounds different when It’s in neck position. The 550 has it in the Middle
