- The Bible, God's Word, is the most important book that mankind possesses. No other book even comes close in importance, because the Bible contains revelation from God upon which the eternal destiny of every human depends. Yet the Bible is not always easy to understand. Written by approximately 40 authors over a span of nearly 1500 years, the 66 books of the Bible were written in varying cultures, languages, locations, and situations. Nonetheless, the Bible shows an amazing internal consistency that can only be explained as the result of God's own supervision of the writing process so that what ended up on the pages of Scripture is God's own word, expressed through human authors. In this six part course, we will examine the nature of Scripture, consider principles for correctly interpreting Scripture, and then work through the process of interpretation in three workshop sessions, examining numerous passages from the Bible. The three workshop sessions are also accompanied by a Q&A session recorded when the course was first presented to the Grace Christian Church in Manila, Philippines. If you want to understand Scripture, but you're not sure where to start, this course is for you. Enjoy, and my God bless your study of His priceless Word.
Thanks for this precious presentation of how to interpret the scriptures
May the Lord bless and guide you as you seek to know and serve Him more faithfully and fruitfully through a growing knowledge of Him and His Word!

6:40 I'm in a theology class and my instructor put this video for us to watch because he said it gave him so much more clarity. Since we are starting interpretation class he thought that it would benefit us to watch it. He was so excited about this video I decided to watch it. Because my last interpretation class i didn't understand some or none of it. So thank God for you doing this and giving people understanding of bible interpretation .😊

Thank you so much for this wonderful and excellent lesson .
I'm glad that the teaching is helpful to you. Please consider telling others and sharing so that more may benefit. Thank you!
Yes, wonderful teachings. I am taking careful notes , that I can teach this in Bible Study or Sunday school. It is so evident now why there is such division. I hear so many people say that they were taught that knowledge is pride. I'm praying we will grow into the Ephesians 4 church. God bless!
Hi Larry. You are right: sound knowledge does not lead to pride. We all do well to remember that "The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge, but fools despise wisdom and instruction." A growing knowledge of God's Word will not lead us into pride, but rather into deeper appreciation of Him and a humble desire to serve. May the Savior bless you as you follow and serve Him!
David,
Your clarity here is incredibly helpful!

"The end of the ages has come"? How do you interpret that? What are 'the ages' that ended?
Please be more specific. Can you give me a timestamp in the video regarding your question?
@@ReasonandRevelation ~7:15
@@MrMurfle The phrase that is translated as "ends of the ages" could also be translated as "the goal of the time periods." The word translated "end" is telos. This can mean either end (as in termination) or end (as in goal). In this context, the point is that for those of us who live after the cross, the promised Savior of mankind has already arrived. Paul's point in context is that although must of the Bible (in particular the Old Testament) was written long ago to a particular group of people (the Israelites or Jews), even though most Christians today are not Jews, their experiences still have value for us because they help us to understand God's ways as He interacts with human beings. I hope that this will answer your question.
Hello, I was wonder What Bible you study? Also, I study the Christian Standard Bible Life Connection Study Bible.
Hi Carol. When studying the Bible in English, I typically consult the NKJV, the NASB, and the NIV. For details, I will of course consult the Hebrew or Greek. Let me offer two suggestions to you. (1) Compare the passage you are studying in at least two different translations, preferably 3. If they are in close agreement, good. If they differ significantly, you may want to find out why. (2) If you use a study Bible, don't assume that the study notes are reliable. Always remember that it is the Scriptures that contain the truth. Sometimes study Bible notes reflect a doctrinal bias that isn't sound. May the Lord bless you as you study and apply His Word!
If possible can i get the notes?
I'm happy to know that you are enjoying the course. I'm sorry, but I don't provide notes for RUclips courses. However, I believe that you can view a transcript of the video on RUclips.
You should not discuss other religions in your teachings because you don't understand it. The Bible you protestants use is our Catholic Bible. Protestants should start your own Bible.
Thank you for writing. But you are badly mistaken. The true Bible (the 66 divinely inspired books that appear in the Protestant Bible) are exactly the same Bible that the Roman Catholic church used until the Protestant Reformation. It was only then that the RCC added the "deuterocanonical books"-- books which they themselves had always rejected as not being the Word of God until that time -- in order to provide some support for false doctrines that had crept into Roman Catholic practice. This is no secret. You need to do a bit of historical research. This is a well established fact. May the one true, Triune God lead you into a sound understanding of His Word, and into true eternal life through faith alone in His divine incarnate son, the Lord Jesus Christ.
