@@gadbmw7783 436 is very nice, what mods did you have? Mine did 0-62 in 3.6 and got a 12.1 QM. Had the typical stage 2 set up (mostly NVM and darkside stuff) with a custom 3” from topgear made to look like the M4 exhaust. I still have it actually, as new owner didn’t want some of the mods (🤷♂️) so have wheels, exhaust, & few engine bay parts, hoses etc. I miss that car a lot, was really nice to drive and wish I had gone stage 3 and kept it for another couple of years. It never missed a beat even once.
The M340d one of the best cars ever in terms of daily performance and daily driving with the B57D30T2 one of the best Diesel engines. According to some people. Yes it is not so fast 100-200 but the daily performance with the high torque is excellent. The B57 is since 2016 on the market. In the M340d there is the B57TÜ2. They overhaul the engine complete. This one is more complex than the origin version of the B57. In terms of durability we will see. But the B57 generally is very durable. Do always a warm up with the B57, fresh oil (5W40) after 15.000 km instead of the stupid 30.000 km longlife oil change, not so much short drives and it will be very long durable. The oil cooling is much better compared to our 50 TDI. In these conditions oil temperature increases over 130 degrees. Well done, BMW for a diesel.
I have the 265 PS B57D30 in my 730d - it is literally the best diesel engine I have ever experienced. Plenty of power, does 100-200 in 16,x sec and easily reaches 260 km/h, incredibly fuel efficient (average consumption is ~5,8 l/100 km), not noisy and good sound for a diesel engine and thus far really reliable. BMW knocked it out of the park with the B57.

Well done, would you like a medal for your mediocre FWD hatchback going faster than your 730d? Both are slow for today’s standards. P.s, my Yamaha R1 and M4 comp could both do a 100-200 and still complete the run faster than your tuned Cupra. The numbers don’t lie and if you’re in doubt you can check them from anywhere reputable.

I switched from m135i with mhd and over 400hp to 2021 m340d and I love it! Fantastic car as a daily. BTW. Missing crackles and engine noise of my n55 so I definitely need B58 for weekends in the future 😜
The M340d has a very good Engine but my hearts Beats for the M340i. I ordered one last year in may and after over 10.000km I can say, it was the best decision. My average consumption at 7,5l/100km. Not bad for an petrol engine :) Thanks for your Videos!

What is it that you don't like? For me it's the 'standing monitor' thing. Mercedes has it too, and likely other brands too. I think it's a technology thing, that they aren't curved or follow the dashboard shape. I like the hyperscreen from Mercedes though. Screens need to be integrated into the dashboard, not be standing separately like a computer monitor.

It would be much better if there is possible to change a view on classic like in Mercedes or Audi, rest of view could be like form the spaces but at least one classic view. I don't understand why they don't do that. They had best analog dials but virtual are the worst form the all premium brands.
screens like this might not look as nice but work really well ergonomically wise. I did like that in the 740d I had for a weekend but prefer my G20 pre-lci cockpit over this
I prefer this new dash actually. Don't care much about the old dials. The only thing I'm not too fan of is the disparition on the shift lever and the fake engine sound. It sound like an electric car..

Same here, 330xd but f31 LCI, the torque is immense. For most people this really is already a rather quick car and fuel efficient with 260hp. Past 200km/h only if you have access to autobahn. 5.7secs to 100km/h and the sound of the inline 6 never gets old.
Drove one recently and in the mid range it was properly impressive----im guessing you'd have to spend a lot of money to get something notably quicker on normal 'give and take ' roads------

M3 is a great fun car but expensive to run. M340i is the sweet spot between fun, performance and daily usability while the 340d is amazing for driving like 20-30k kilometers per year while it’s diesel engine does its work very unspectacular and I think it’s also the cheapest to run. I would prefer the M340i.
Definitely not malachite green. It is blue like petrol blue. But I don't know if there is a BMW color that is named petrol blue. Edit: So I just looked it up. And there is a color by BWM it's called Petrol Mica!
Stage 1 is like 380hp and 750 NMs while stage 2 is somewhere between 400 to 450 hp and 800 to 850 NMs. Stage 2+ is custom and I think you have to remove the DPFs

I have 2022 Audi S4 TDI limousine. I've measured my 100-200 multiple times with dragy and it's around 12,4 - 12,7 sec. All times were dragy valid. And the car is without any tuning. Seems that S4 diesel is faster than M340d?
@@be1442 A stage 1 tuned M340d is a lot faster than a stage 1 tuned M340i in my experience. The standard M340d is actually more down-tuned than the M340i because BMW wanted to prevent the diesel to outperform the petrol version. The diesel has 340HP, the petrol 374HP originally and still praktically just as fast.
show me any diesel with 360ps doing 100-200 sub 10! a m340i with stock 390ps (dyno'd) can't do sub 10 sec. even it is combined with a ultra quick zf 8speed! are you dreaming or is your timer broken

200 is possible but once you hit 240 smoke will be a byproduct not to mention other component may need upgrading like transmition and fuel system

Not sure why the 100-200 is so slow on these cars, a stage 2 e9x 335d will easily hit sub-10s 100-200kph with around 360bhp and the older 6-speed box.

M340D is a heavy, heavily front nosed Automobile. Did not like it.
M340i much better.
M340i is nervous at high speed and the M340d has better acceleration and feels like a V8 at low revs.
