Good to see Osh is still around...he designed the "aftercooler" for my my Dinan supercharged '95 E36 M3, and then hand-tuned the software about 15 years ago, super nice guy (and the car made great power for a 3.0 S50, 396 RWHP was big numbers in 2004.)
I love my R9T and think this is a fantastic idea. Of course there are far better track bikes than this but of course that’s not the point. The bike’s a surprisingly fun little all rounder and this just helps push it further in another dimension of the sport. If it puts a huge grin on your face why not?
I remember the R 1100 S boxer cup bikes, although the series itself didn't come down here to Oz. Wasn't a retro series though. More of a prelude to the R 1200 S, HP2 Sport and the eventual major change in brand image that came with the S1000RR. Interesting look at putting together a series/team/bike like this.
Neat little Video and dig the attention your giving to these fun bikes! Definitely get in touch with Nate Kern (R9T) LEGEND! Great guy and a wealth of experience/knowledge on this particular platform. THEN get your bike mapped by BrenTuning......y'all will appreciate the greater midrange power and extended rev limiter upto 9.5K.....vrooooom!!!!
@@hankgs main point being saving A TON of money with a already setup and established racing series with a massive following. Once you get faster then the secondary concern would be dragging the cylinders.
I've dragged pegs on the SV650S. That's a pretty good lean. MT-07 would be a great racing platform as well. Both bikes need suspension help, and ECU flash, and full exhaust to wake them up.
Honestly, this is exciting. I know there's going to be haters but the idea of more relaxed racing is good.
I like the idea of everyone on identical bikes making the racing a true test of skills between racers.
Thank you for the straight talk on this bike. PS.. we all love Bill..the best track day provider in the west.
Aftermarket needs to design small training wheels to attach to the cylinder heads for worry free knee dragging.
Really liked this, can't wait for part 2

Great, love my R nineT Racer 😃
Kinda cool. Never been a fan of a design that drags cylinder heads on the ground though.
BMW began as an Aero Engine company of sorts thus the Boxer Engine form factor (hanging out in the breeze).
It seems they compensate with body position in turns. Less tuck, more hanging like supermoto.
R nine t is such a beauty

Interested to see what happened to the cylinders when crash.
We hope not to be able to find out first hand.
The Boxers are such a great power plant- I love the torque, and with fuel management- the hp is there too, especially on "illegal tracks" :)
VERY GOOD VIDEO
Hi, in a curve who easy is it to hit the ground with the motor head?
Great choice! The bike Is beutiful, can you link me the light led mount on the front?
Looking forward to this series.
Time for BMW to supply the new 1250 Shiftcam to the RNineT model lineup.
BMW need to start making the RnineT racer again but give it the USD forks of the current RnineT.
That would be a Z125... o.0
I want more of this

Call N8 Kern, he’ll help you develop the bike !

BMW needs to flip the damn forks on the racer.
what size rear tyre you using guys?
180/55 Metzeler Racetec K1 (soft) compound.
What pressures did you run hot please?
Stuart Hill front 34 lbs rear 26 lbs hot.
seanrmatic thank you very much!
My mistake on the tire profile Stuart, its actually a 180/60 (not 180/55).
Oh yeah . . . Thruxton R vs R nine T circuit?
I,d love to try my boxer cup rep against these!!!😀👏👍
Looks like those engine covers are gonna scrape in the corners lol
J. Da Silva did you watch the European race series clips...those guys were really cranking those boxers over to the limit!
It doesn't happen- only the shift peg touches.
Where's Kevin Duke ?
Or save a TON of money and race SV650's and not have to worry about dragging the cylinder
Yeah just worry about overheating engines...
LOL, I'd like to see any of you so called "knee draggers" TRY to get the cylinder heads to scrape- You have OBVIOUSLY never ridden an R-bike...LMAO!

shreveswat yeah except.... BMW doesn’t make... never mind...

I am bit disappointed, Ist not really faster than the normal one but ist only design Change.
Nice to make a boxer only race so they do not get ass beaten by everything else on two wheels...
?point is?
Have fun?
More like hipster cup...
what a terrible choice for a track bike
