- These are the openings to Ellens show from 1994-1998. Season 1 had the same one the entire season, so did the second one. But in the third one she changed the opening sequence each episode. I really enjoyed them so I thought that maybe you would to. :)

I loved the first season opening sequence, sooooooo 90’s ❤️
The music sounds like something you would hear in an African safari video. Or a show with a bunch of African animals a la Lion Guard or Timon & Pumbaa.
I still love the line, "You know, Roseanne would not put up with this!" LOL
S3 opening titles were just awesome lol

Was so young when first watched these so didn't appreciate how fantastic they all were... I mean RuPaul!!!--says it all
and on the season 3 finale when they show the title sequence they'd been waiting for the entire season...that was classic!!
Love all these intros!! But damn, Ellen’s show was not ready for the transition TV went through from the early to late 90s, these intros are so insanely different you’d think the show was having an identity crisis 😂
So, Friends ripped off Ellen's opening sequence. Not surprised.

I think it's a shame Adam wasn't around for Ellen's coming out. He could have been either majorly supportive or very angry (given it was implied he liked her).

I always wondered what sitcom intro had their cast sit on a couch till dusk, lit only by a TV and lamp... But wasn't friends.

Season 1 intro sucked! I kinda of wish she would have had a really great intro like Perfect Strangers, they had a very memorable intro!!

Should've stuck with Texas the whole run of the show.
The season one titles are awful, so 90's but not in a good way. Where to start? The music is typical of cheesy sitcom themes at the time - for some reason the theme tunes to loads of early 90's shows had an "African" feel to them and this is no exception. Not an authentic African sound but more like "oh my Casio keyboard has an African preset" kind of thing. Next you have the bright primary colors that everyone wore back then - horrible! But what annoys me most of all is the sloppy edits where they've tried to cut the pictures to the music. How hard would it have been to fix the camera in place so the image wasn't jerking around like that? And it's not even in sync!
the african thing was probably a hangover from paul simon's album graceland
I think the African thing actually predated Graceland, I recall lots of African influence in cheesy TV intros and commercials all throughout the 80's. In fact I wouldn't be surprised if Graceland was the one jumping on a bandwagon.
i was still an infant at the tailend of the 80s so i'll defer to you on that ;)
Season 1 was hands down the best theme and season overall by a mile.
