    Starting watching devon larrat when I was 15 only saw you in the newspaper a couple years ago im 21 now I want to get into the sport since I love it so much but I dont know how to get a table that isn't soo pricey. Was thinking making my own table and pulley set up but don't know where to start. I live in redbank qld really want to try get into some sessions just to learn from people. Keep up the hard work Ryan great to see how far Australia is coming in armwrestling, especially seeing how many people are in our own back yard now. I hope Australian armwrestling keeps getting more popular down here. Crazy to think how popular armwrestling has become the growth of the sport in the last 5yrs is nuts

    I do this lift very frequently and I would say it is ok to let yourself to open up a little bit when using big weights if your pronation stays intact, so I would count that 40 kg. With that 40kg form I am able to do around 28kg myself, so I am surprised that I am not so bad after all lol. I have 1 year at the sport and 80kg. But in this exercise every kilogram makes a huge difference, so it is very hard to keep your pronation protected at heavy weights.

    I'm surprised how close I am to you in this lift as an amateur. Got first place in a tournament last weekend, and this was the fundamental that got the job done for me. What is your favorite wrist rise exercise? My hand is almost always dumping bc my riser is still behind, and I usually end up having to slip and use my back pressure and pronation in the straps to win.

    Hi Ryan , a good movie, my advice is that to improve your training with a load cell for measuring your strength in the unit time so to can to see in how much time to you arrive at the max strength.I with my son Engineer we have achieved a load cell with an application by Bluetooth that send every single date in the unit time with a graphic to see every moment of the action on the cellphone. 💪

    Your saying you can lift it but do a few seats of 21s because your solely training that muscle but that position as soon as your not in that position your weak because your not training the in-between motion.
    And the other thing I believe you need to use flat out is a back curl machine or back extension the one you just hook your feet in and lay over it will help build your core strength and back hold the weight plate to your chest or even hold the weight with just one arm or set up this mechine exercise your doing now then you eliminate your left arm doing the work your back is supposed to be doing and than when you do hold with your left you have both arm and back power. Hope that makes sense not having a dig just can see massive gains if you did.

    If you want the lift to translate to table, shouldn't you let your arm open to a starting position? When is your hand ever that close to your chin.

    • @flynn_morrisonnz
      @flynn_morrisonnz 2 года назад

      It’s actually harder to hold that angle, our arms strongest position is at 90 degrees. I think the purpose of the lift is to get the arm stronger at not being opened up so starting already open would defeat the point.

    I think this lift would be even more effective if the pulley was diagonally on the left corner, as the belt would wrap around around your hand more and would attack the pronation more strongly...

    • @skaarlner
      @skaarlner 2 года назад +3

      but it would make the Bizeps angle really weird and would work external rotation a little bit more than necessary

      @@skaarlner agreed

    • @ChimpFlipperJr
      @ChimpFlipperJr 2 года назад

      Because of the way the strap wraps around the hand, it would actually be more effective on his pronation if the pulley was to the RIGHT of him, because the vector would directly be undoing his pronation to the palm up position. However, this would be more taxing on the side pressure and less on backpressure which is one reason he’s not doing it.
