Simon & Liz, Very impressive!!!
2800kg Tare does not leave a lot of wiggle room for an ATM of 3500kg, our new rig is 2700kg Tare and I'm thinking did I stuff up, guess I will find out this week when its all fulled measured.
The Electricial system looks well set out and you have thought of everything, but must say think it might be time these setup's went the next step and followed OEM's EV setups, good reason for all EV's cooling systems and battery structures.
Looking forward to see it all when its fully kitted out and you have the next piece of the puzzle🙂
You're spot on, it's tight for weights but it is doable.
I’ll be interested to see what you think of the dark grey when you get up into the hot climate.
Yes, not functional, bad trend just for looks. Even an old light grey gal roof is untouchable in summer, paint it white and it is only just warm.
Us too! The roof is white (and mostly covered in solar) which will help.
They are super insulated 😊
@@TheLifestylePioneers You may be surprised how warm the roof gets under the solar panels.
❤your presentation was very interesting it's a fantastic caravan Guy's send me invite for mow Vember in 2024
Very nice. That rear bar and 12 volt power cabinet are fantastic. Please bury that phrase GAME CHANGER it’s like running fingernails down a blackboard 😂 I went the one key option awhile ago, well worth it and works great but the compression latches you get will be the same design just all keyed the same.
Will do!
The man hair is looking good. You’re going to win the battery competition.
Cheers.
Hey Simon and Liz, congratulations on the new van. I’m certain you’ll enjoy it! A word of advice: the hinges on the hatches are an ‘Achilles heel’. We’ve had a Sunseeker van for 6 years and have had to replace all the hinges at some point. I’ve actually redesigned ours with different hinges. I’d advise carrying a half dozen spare hinges because when in the scrub and the door comes off in your hand, you’re gonna want to repair right away. Another mitigation is to get into the habit of lowering the doors down evenly with two hands every time - don’t let them drop!
That's great to know. Thanks 👌
lOVE lOVE your new van and your ideas !
Thanks so much!
Wow what a van Simon and Liz, too be able to be that off grid and totally self contained is a dream, you’ve had the vision and made it work, well done.❤
Thanks so much! It's nice when our crazy ideas work!
👋 ❤️ your caravan Guy's and all your fantastic ideas 👍
Thanks so much!
Omg, we have a sunseeker wildchild which is only 12 months old and this makes me want to get a titanium just for that rear bar.
Seriously nice van, well done guys xx
You do know that Sunseeker is made by Titanium.... perhaps a phone call to see i.f the bar can be retro fitted .
@waynesworld6896 yes we know that, thank you. Unfortunately as we are only a single axle, we have to be wary of rear bar weight.
The amount of thought and planning that has gone into your van home is evident with your excitement in seeing the end result. Well done...thanks for showing us!
Luv the idea of the desalinator & the rear draw is bloody awesome, I mentioned that to u the show when we met. Safe travels, Rob & Alana
Cheers, you too!
Congratulations on your new van Simon & Liz! We're stoked to see how happy you are with it, we can't wait to see part 2!
Thank you!! 😊
You guys have done some really interesting things with your new van, separating from the pack. Here for it!
Love it - you have obviously been planning and researching this for a good while and its all paid off! Great design well done to all
Thanks a bunch!
Fantastic van. Great ideas, especially the desalination unit.
Thanks! 👍
Thanks guys I really loved the outside so can't wait to see the inside very impressive some great ideas. I love my new van but now having some serious fomo 😂😂😂
Absolutely bloody beautiful! I don't know what I like the most, yes the power board system set up and also impressive rear bar as I love that draw idea. Well done and congrats.
Can't wait to see the inside now!
Thanks, Chris. We're really happy with it!
Hey guys, great innovations...! Can't wait to see the outcome of the desal plant...!
Cheers! Us too!
Hi guys. What a great exterior run around and beautiful van. I would call it a refinement on your lifestyle ideas. Its always good to look forward.
Thanks, mate. That's a great way to sum it up
Looks great guys thanks for sharing. Love the rear bar set up it’s going to be a game changer.
Thanks Kathleen!
Really like the full off grid specs. Looking forward to you putting it to the test too. Thanks👍
You and me both!
Congratulations on the new van, looks excellent with some really practical inclusions and plans for some further modifications. Look forward to seeing the inside soon. Safe travels enjoy. Have a great week. Cheers 🍻
Awesome van guys. We have gone the same route with the underbed air conditioner… our tiny 14’ poptop (a rebuilt 1994’ Supreme Getaway) has 1000w of solar and 608ah of lithium. All thanks to fitting the Truma Saphir under the bed!
Sounds great!
Hi guys, Wow Congratulations, just stunning. Hey we just wanted to let you know we appreciate that you have worked hard to get what you have and you are not snobby . You have kept level heads so Thankyou. Can’t wait to see the inside. 🤗😊
Thank you so much. That's great to hear 😀 😊
Fans of the vans 😂 got it! Your consistent transparency is always appreciated! Loving this van too, and I’m also a fan of the van! Well done on your new home guys!!
Awesome! Thank you!
Love all the new ideas youve had with the van
You have a desalinator ... looking forward to your experience with it. Hope it is one of those "game changers" . Love all the solar.
So great catching up with you all in Brisbane. The van is great. Well done on a fabulous build and we look forward to your upcoming journeys. Cheers, Cheryl and Alan.....
Thanks so much! 😊
Very exciting to see how much you have achieved! Congratulations! Great to hear about the desalination idea. Clever and so many other top improvements.
Hey guys really nice van looking forward to your desalination system nice meeting you at the Titanium owners rally
Thanks! You too!
Fabulous van, well done ! Great vid once again Thanks !
Can wait to see the Tour of the inside of the van
Tomorrow morning 7am👌
Hi Simon and Liz, we are loving your content, my hubby and I look forward to every episode. We don’t have a set up yet however you guys are keeping or dream alive.
I am very happy for you guys. Great to see you have the van you really wanted. I am looking forward to see what it is like inside. Have you given it a name?
Thanks Ian 👌 We haven't named it. Is that a thing?
Some people name their vehicle and van. You could call it "Lovey the love nest", lol.@@TheLifestylePioneers
Can't wait for the inside tour. We have a 2022 sunseeker desert storm with bunks 19.6 foot and love it
Great Video, can't wait to see the desalination work and the 12V setup.
Well done you four…… Really like your informative posts!!!
Am very curious regarding how the Ranger towed when you got your new van being 2,880kg in Tare. Given there would have been a big increase in weight again once fully loaded.
(We are aware you now have the Toyota 👍)
Our previous van came in 6,620kg Tare and once loaded travelling became a big management process to make sure we were all comfortable and importantly safe. We have since downsized and still have our Ranger towing very comfortably……. Keep up the great work and keep smiling!!!
Thanks mate! The Ranger did it incredibly well. I think they're a great tow vehicle, probably the best bang for your buck out there. Although I'm hoping your tare weight is a typo!
Put wire rope removable of course on the shoe door to make another drop down table ? Ya May as well . check out Sunman 430w slim panels could save you a bit of weight on that roof ( Quality certified Panels) interesting to note they are getting almost as much solar input on vertical wall fitting as roof placement you got a full front panel you’d fit 430w panel on lol sun ☀ 🌞 ⛅ .. Do I see a diesel heater fitted to front boot 🤪🤪. OK watched now to go look at the window protection stuff and ya secret water weapon 👍👍
Not a bad idea with the door/table. Slimline panels don't have a good rep. Especially in the heat.
Some good ideas there guys, some thought has gone into that, thanks for sharing. Interested to know how the solar would keep up with a week of cloudy days or wet weather ☁️.
Good question! We're keen to find out as well.
Hi guys just love the back of the van, A
Thanks mate 👍
Hi guys love the new van almost jealous lol we have 18.6 hardcore without all the new gear that guys have great job by Titanium
Thanks so much. You could always upgrade 😉👌
Congratulations guy’s on the new van all the best with it, love your RUclips content
I’m really keen on how you get on with the desalination unit with a video please
Cheer’s Tony
Thanks so much! De-sal video is coming up in a couple of weeks. Don't forget to subscribe if you haven't already 😉
Congratulations very impressive and well thought out ❤
Loving your channel. Lots of good info. Well presented too. Be interested to know what you thought the best combo of solar panels/battery storage size would be. So like minimums.
Thanks so much. In general, at least double your battery storage in Amps (12v) in solar (W). For example, 400ah battery, at least 800w solar. Bu you can never have too much solar!
ok, stop with the suspense. Ready for the interior reveal now! ;P
Tomorrow morning 7am!
@@TheLifestylePioneers awww yeah. We're building our van through off-road grit RV and or wishlist is very similar to what you've done. Wanted a system we could draw water from anywhere, keeping tank capacity lower with ability to draw anywhere. We have 500ah at 24v or 1000ah at 12v. Running victron. We also want to go gasless, have electric everything inside so no gas vents. Just weighing up deleting the bbq so no gas at all, also weigh less. Also family van at 20 foot 6. Also considering going East/West bed but wife doesn't like idea of crawling over it to make it. Other option is pushing into corner and retaining N/S but then lose the through tunnel boot. Love the show idea. Dare say we may steal that idea too! Head off April next year! Love your channel guys!
Nice episode guys more beer 🍻 🍻🍻🍻🍻🍻🤫🫣🍻 you bloody ripper go the 💧 water - 200 lt port barrel hahahaha 😅
Congratulations on the new van looks awesome 😍Can you get the wrap template for the TVan windows please
Thanks, Nicole. Do you know what brand windows they are?
I picked it! Desalination is a great idea 👍
Yes! Thank you!
Hi Guys loved the tour of your new home on wheels. What is the name of the colour of your grey cladding please? Looks mint. Thanks
The checker and chassis are Monument. I'm not sure about the cladding.
Epic guys!
I guessed correctly. A desalination unit 😊. Keen to see what you think of it. Many question. How much power to make how much freshwater? If some distance from the van voltage drop? Water source site to van vertical pump head height constraints? So much more.
Well done! All will be revealed soon!
Must be the best van in Australia you guys are really pushing the envelope sensational 😊
Thanks so much! We love it.
That’s a nice looking power setup
We don't have a Titanium however our new van has disc brakes and also has the ESC. Is that just a Titanium thing with the way they do their setup? You van looks awesome so far, no wonder your thrilled 😊
Thanks, guys. It's a limitation of Cruisemaster suspension systems.
Sure like the Electrics closet! Will the water system also cleanup and make potable other water sources like stagnant water and other questionable water sources?
Yes it will. We'll share more details in the install video
Hi Simon & Liz,
I watched your videos on your dishwasher installation, Truma under floor air conditioner and your desalination unit. I was just wondering how these three additions are going?
How have they held up against the riggers of travelling around OZ? Have you hade any brake downs with any of them? Have they worked the way you wanted them to, and how
happy with them are you. Could you please do an update video on these three additions.
Thank you
Kind regards
Dan
We'll be releasing an update video soon! Stay tuned.
Thanks for the walkaround, what a great van, we love it. I'm also looking forward to seeing what you've come up with for the desal system. I work in municipal water engineering and have built a few MF/RO systems over the years. Sea water being real high TDS around 35,000 uS/cm or higher with say two stages using SW RO membranes and brackish water will require BW's. You could go multi stages but I'm thinking recovery efficiency won't be paramount and reducing power consumption will be, single stage may be the go. You will need MF filtration before the RO membranes. Your water disinfection system should be interesting, there will be a few ways to do this.
Cheers! To be honest, you've lost me a bit there with MF, TDS, SW AND BW 😂 I know that RO is reverse osmosis and I know there's one membrane in our system capable of 80L/hr but that's about it.
Wow! Nice outfit.
Stunning piece of kit guys, really well thought out. Would love to know what your tow ball weight comes in at with all that extra weight at the back? Not in any way a criticism as I love the clever design and additional storage the rear setup offers. In most conventional vans such an addition would bugger up the balance but I’m guessing it has been allowed for in your overall design.
Yeah, valid point Russell. Although most of the storage in the van is forward. The rear bar isn't any heavier than an extra spare tyre would be and Titanium have designed for it. We haven't weighed it loaded yet so can't say what the ball is.
Thank you :D
No problem!
Wholly molly looked up some titanium vans for sale, crikey did you sell the farm for that custom titanium LOL,its a ripper enjoy..
😂 You're not wrong! We love it though
I like it, just subscribed and thumbs up.
Thanks and welcome!
Great Episode
My wife and I went to see one of these last week, and wow when we were there they took us around the whole production complex, and I did mention your names and told them that you are great ambassadors for TITANIUM. How do you find the fuel consumption with this new van, is it a bit of a charge or the same. 🌸🍷🍷🍻🍻🦋
Looking forward to seeing your next family adventure.
That's awesome, Paul! We haven't noticed any change really.
Hi. How are the walls/roof constructed? I did like the zone van with its composite construction
Aluminium frame with Henrob rivets, proven to last over 50 years in Caravans 😊
This one is aluminium frame and composite roof.
Love your work guys. Van looks great. I am a few years away from my big lap (or laps) hoping someone has worked out how to greatly reduce tare weights by then. I love my dual cab and not keen on changing from that style, you must be on your absolute limits. Maybe someone will have worked out how to do an integrated solar panel roof by the time I am ready.
We're with you. Vans are getting heavy. We've upgraded the GCM of the Ranger.
Legends! Great video.
We have that Truma D6 in ours too! Does your tick when your using the heater? Not sure if ours is faulty but it has a really loud tick
The 'ticking' noise comes from the fuel supply solenoid. Ours is barely noticeable as it's mounted externally and away from the living space. Check where yours is located as it might be able to be relocated to minimise the noise.
Hi guys great video do you think the new colour will make the van hotter then the white
Thanks, David. Not too sure. I'm sure it will a little but time will tell how significant it is. The roof is white and mostly covered in solar which should help.
Love it nice van👍
I LOVE,LOVE,LOVE that you went with a desalinator, however is there a reason you went with Water Makers as opposed to Rainman? - The unit you are getting is a permanent mount right?. The Rainman is about the same price but can be "portable".... Can you p[lease tell me why you went for this brand over others??. I am getting a Rainman setup in my Isuzu NPS build. So surprised so many other people do not get desal. Even more surprised caravan companies do not offer as a general option?!. Would love some feedback please. Subscribed!
Thanks! Yeah there's a few reasons (we released the install video yesterday) we went with this unit. It's flexibility of installation and easy to source/replace parts and maintain the unit.
Awesome vid
Think skip the Land Cruiser and go straight to a big truck for your gcm
We considered it, but they don't really suit the way we want to travel.
Amazing van and I can’t wait to see how that fantastic 12v system works after some more ‘real world’ testing. How is the GCM ( or would you rather not talk about that until the new car 😉)?
Thanks Malcolm 👌 Welcome to our Patreon community as well 😉 We upgraded our GCM, which has kept us all legal while we wait for the Landcruiser 👍
What gvm/GCM have upgraded to? Is it the Lovell’s kit? Are you happy with the end product?
hey Simon what brand of diesel heater do you have? have a van built through titanium as well and keen to go gases thanks
Cost break down would be great too. Great walk around too
Thank you! It's a little tricky as there's a lot of variables.
Did you consider doing a 24v system to give you the option of running ac of grid. Cam at Wildtouring did this in their new van.
We did consider 12v but ended up sticking with 12v for this one. We can run AC off it without a problem.
@@TheLifestylePioneers ok thanks, we’re in the process of what to buy and how to run things off grid. Love the idea of the RO unit. Totally agree with the statement of power and water being your limiting factors. Enjoy your channel and have got many ideas from you😎👍
Hey great Van Can I ask with the diesel water heater what time lag do you experience until the water is hot. ? How much water is used until it is warm enough to have a shower. Would be great to know
Thanks, Rob. It varies a lot depending on the water temperature in the tank. Anywhere from 15-45mins. Typically around 25mins I'd guess.
Great vid guys. Thanks for the look around. Have you had it weight when full? May I ask what the final weights were?
I only ask as my wife and I are nearly ready to pull the trigger and get our first van. I want an Off-road van but I’m scared I’ll exceed my GCM of 6t.
Thanks Mark. We're pretty much 3500kg loaded. Not really achievable with a 6000kg GCM, we had to upgrade ours.
Hi guys. Loved your great new van. Just a question re your choice not to go a second Zone van. I am about to go further with a Zone order. Would love your honest opinion? Cheers Frank. Guernier. (Ex Leeton boy.)
If Zone build what you want then go for it. They only have 1 option for a family van and it wasn't what we wanted. We also wanted to spec our van for extended off grid trips and the Zone wasn't going to be suitable.
@@TheLifestylePioneers Thanks for that. I will watch your adventures and also look at a few designs. I have an Iveco dual cab and want to make the right choice.
Interested to know the ATM and what battery capacity it has.
Cheers
3500kg and 600Amps 👍
Great van! Any reason you went XT Air vs ATX?
To save weight. The XT can do everything ATX can do.
Hey guys, thanks for the vid. Question about the Truma D6, how do you find it. I’m looking at a new Titanium, and want a diesel hot water heater. Tossing up between the Erbaspacher instantaneous or the Truma D6. I like the idea of a tank style over instantaneous, as I’m concerned the Erbasp. might waste too much water getting flow before heating. How do you find the Truma?
Hey! We really like the D6 and don't mind the tank style for the same reason you mention, water saving. It's also a space heater which is nice in the cooler climates. I'm not sure about the Erbaspacher
What size are your jerry cans for diesel.? And where did you buy them from?
We haven't decided yet!
You have 1600 watts of roof mounted solar which is impressive however, correct me if im wrong but you mentioned there are two 800 watt arrays with each array going to one 40 amp solar controller. @12v?
That's 133a total between two 40a controllers
Allowing for a 20% loss (26a) you are still only charging at 80a out of possible 107a or 109 @14.6volts.
Considering you have removed gas, it doesnt make sense not to harness all the capacity you can from the investment of your panels?
Yeah, you're spot on. On paper, it looks like the chargers are a bottle neck in the system. In reality it's rare that the solar input from each 4 panel array exceeds 40A. There's a lot of losses in a solar system. If we notice the solar maxxing out frequently we could put some of the panels through the DCDC charger instead.
reverse osmosis will be a real pain if You don,t prefilter Your feed water , will be changing and cleaning filters like no tomorrow , and what are You doing with Your Grey and Black water that has to go some where ......
Yeah, it will be interesting to see how it works out. There are a few pre-filters in the system. Grey water goes on the ground/trees, and we have a composting toilet, so no black water.
Noicely hardcore guys
Cheers!
Why did you sell the Zone?
It was time for a change and do things we couldn't do with a Zone.
Love the van, congrats. One question plz. Where is the toilet canister? Do you have a SOG fitted or have you gone composting?
We use a composting toilet 👌
Where are your batteries in this set up please?
Under the bench seat next to the fridge.
@TheLifestylePioneers Thanks for that. We've just learnt that our new van will follow your set-up, so we were curious to know. Cheers.
What is ball park cost budget of this van?
About $170k
Nice. I wish i was rich or friends with the bank manager. 😢
Put a date on your dream and it becomes a goal 👍
Lithium wont work when cold strange placement
Where did you hear that? Ours are good down to -20oC
Chris Hemsworth got a Lotus caravan for free
I look pretty much the same as him, do you think that counts 😉😂
Enjoy the beautiful van
they make him give it back after a year, great van to buy used as he has never actually used one 😂
Some people name their vehicle and van. You could call it "Lovey the love nest", lol.
😂
Home come u not got zone any more
We decided to sell it and upgrade.
@@TheLifestylePioneers was zone no good ?
It was, but the Titanium is better build quality.
Wish USA manufacturers went gasless. Single diesel systems is the way to go.
That's interesting that they don't. Agreed, diesel is the way to go.
Too big/heavy for the tow vehicle. Less is best people.
For four people full-time going smaller than 19.6ft starts to get pretty crammed and the Ranger handles it really well.
It's nice being a millionaire caravan owner.
Unbelievable bullshit
😆😆 Cheers mate. Don't let jealousy ruin your day 👊
Hi guys the van is a bit over the top. The average vanner I doubt Is interested in such upgrades. Just stick to stuff the average person would be interested in, you are becoming unrelatable
😂😂 We're not average people! This is our dream home and we've worked really hard to get it. Don't underestimate the sacrifices we've made to get here. There's plenty of ideas in this van that don't cost a lot but make a big difference day-to-day that many people have found useful.
