  • I wanted to work from the house starting from day 1. But as it's completely off grid, the only real way is satellite or starlink. I might do that later, but for now, I managed to boost the mobile signal inside the house from 2 to 17 mbits with a simple DIY antenna! I can use my regular mobile internet in my la casa in the middle of nowhere, and can't be happier about it :)

This is not an amplifier but a signal transmitter. The outside antenna is picking up the signal, the cox cable provides a path way and the inside attenna broadcasts inside the house. Being in mountainous Colorado a similar system is used to get cellphone signals into valley areas where cell phone signal is normally blocked. Usually a top of a hill is found that has good signal that is also line of sight to where you want to get cellphone reception. What you make is a pole with two directional cellphone antennas connected with a coaxial cable like in this video. One antenna points to the cell phone transmitter the other points down to where you want to get the cellphone signal. Like in this video no power is needed.

Is the diamond shape and measurements correct. Or is there a better way. I have a half dozen or more old dead cell phones. Most are android types. They have wire ant. 16cm, or roughly …6”3/8in. Some have a extra port, but no wire. I have I phones and my wife has android types we use. We are getting poor reception & wifi. We do not have home internet. But we do have modems, a Ethernet booster older, Apple older AP extreme & Exprs, and lots of AV stuff Coax 1000+ ft. And can do most anything. Need to make a home network from a phone. We have a couple left behind dish net setups. We have a transmission tower 1/2 mile from my home 1989’ and antennas and transmitters. I would be thankful for any information on a setup that works even a little. I’m currently off of work for a while and this would be a needed project to get done without $$. And good knowledge of that video. I also have HAM radios. Wouldn’t mind getting that setup done with the other. For a clean look.

@@user-jy3is8mp8b Hi! Yes, they are correct. 6cm side for smaller one and 8cm for the larger one (mind that the larger one goes inside the house, where you need the signal, and hte smaller one goes where you do have the good signal currently), and about 4 cm on each for those connectors inside.
I guess with all these things that you have you can do more fun stuff! Exciting!

For the sake of the others "us" out there is the wood an additional trick ? Just take an old satellite Tv dish, purchase a Mylar sheet ( 1 $) and glue it to the surface of the dish. Than place your small diamond in the focus of it. and the two results are: even higher signal (!) and/or you can have a much longer coax cable thus you can place this on higher place compared to where your house is.
    Thank you from the Alps!

That is awesome! I'm tempted to try this in a residential area - thanks for sharing this.

How is it possible without plugging anything into the socket??? 😮😮😮

It's just like radio, signal goes from one side of the wire that is installed on the roof (like TV antenna) to another (that is inside the house) and the signal is caught by those little diamond shaped receivers I made. :)
