You mean, washing his hair on water (rain), then the hair goes down on his face, like dante's, then he passes his hands down to up his face, to behind his hair so it can be all up again?
I love the nuances of Dante in this game. Look closely during the confrontation between him and Urizen: he's serious, fiery, passionate. As soon as Nero shows up, he acts like it's just another demon to defeat and acts all calm and cool. When V requests to end Urizen, he looks disappointed he couldn't give Vergil a more compassionate death himself, but he keeps up the facade and lets it happen. You see this a lot in Mission 13, 16 and 18 as well, Dante is angry, bitter, upset his brother just won't take the hint and stop pursuing power and hurting people, yet he goes back to his persona of the whacky woohoo man as soon as he's with his friends. It really does a good job of showing that the DMC1 serious, angry Dante is still there, he just buries it.
I think Dante is more dead inside than Vergil. He hides his pain under wackiness and jokes while Vergil is just cold and calm from the outside but wacky and funny from the inside.

Dante and Vergil are perfectly evenly matched in this game. Dante from absorbing Spsrda, and Vergil from eating the fruit and rejoining his human half. The only reason Nero blocked their attacks and then beat his father was because Dante and Vergil were in a death match and their power was slowly going down. Remember in DMC 3 Arkham beat the shit out of Dante and Vergil because the battle they were in with each othereft them weakened to the point he easily over powered them.

D01287410 granted we've seen Dante and Vergil can heal rather quickly (god knows I wish that ability in-game), but it doesn't make them invincible. So, with how exhausted Dante was from their fight, it was very likely that he would've been the first one to weaken and ultimately make a fatal error in that particular fight. Also, while Dante definitely approved of Nero confronting Vergil, I doubt he would have willingly sat the fight out if there was any risk that Vergil would kill Nero, which there most certainly was
@@ijustworkhere1008 I think Dante willingly sat that fight out. If he thought Nero was strong enough to hold his own against a weakened vergil he wouldn't have let him fight. While I believe they equal in strength, their fights in hell prove that. The winner would be a coin flip not due to lack of endurance. Maybe if Vs minions gave him a rough fight before hNd I would see your point. Yet Dante didn't break a sweat fighting them.
D01287410 I think it was more the events of the game as a whole that left dante fatigued (like losing to urziel and then spendig almost a whole month knocked out), rather than solely the fight with the familiars. I also strongly believe that Dante would have chosen to fight alongside Nero had he had the choice, since he does seem to care for him and Nero only barely managed to defeat an already weakened Vergil. Maybe the one thing they should have changed are his lips and jaw , making the lips thin and the jaw sharp but all in all I really like his appearance
I disagree. Vergil and Dante are canonically identical twins. I don't understand what the hell was Capcom thinking here, even the reboot did that right.
"Thank you, Nero." - Vergil's sincerity was genuine and for two reasons in my opinion. One, the man tore his own son's arm off with no regard in order to free himself of corruption. With the Yamato pretty much bonding with Nero during the Fortuna events of DMC4 and having a connection to its former wielder, it was in the safest hands and for Vergil (unknowing the blood ties) that was the perfect oppertunity. The Yamato was used to server the Demon World from the Human World by Sparda (as said Dante in DMC4) and has a special serving ability, hence V and Urizen. V, being Vergil's humanity and slowly dying, realized he needed Urizen which was Vergil's demonic power and lustful ambition. Two opposites that had to attract. Vergil is whole once more and before stepping through the portal, I say apart of his grateful comment was from V, as Nero helped him from being killed by Malphas and aided him to Urizen who was laid out by Dante.
@@latiahughes dantes voice is the same as dmc3 and 4. Reuben Langdon is dantes actor. Same for voice for virgil. The guy from quantum force power rangers did virgils voice in dmc 3 and returned for this game.

There was barely any character development, lol. Character development is when characters go through an entire journey to learn new things through making mistakes, doing the right things, finding a balance between certain things, etc in order to become a better person. The only thing that happened in this scene was that Vergil thanked Nero for giving him the Yamato back and for keeping it safe in his arm. And maybe thanking Nero for pursuing him to try to stop his fully demonic form. Vergil (at the time of this scene) has gone through barely ANY character development: he simply split himself into a fully demonic form in order to try to obtain more power. It turned out that that didn't work, so his human side (V) decided to return to him. It was mainly Dante who showed Vergil that being fully demonic didn't work. In terms of development, there is perhaps some in V because he says he has seen the error of his ways, but as soon as V is absorbed again, Vergil just reverts back to his desire for more power. I guess he learned that being fully demonic doesn't work, but other than that, he didn't really learn his lesson. Even after Nero broke up Dante and Vergil's fight, Vergil was just curious about how Nero obtained so much power. Then Vergil and Dante simply continued fighting to the death over their differing ideas in the underworld. There was almost no character development. Dante and Vergil stayed almost exactly the same, which is why they're still fighting. You guys are very happy with even the slightest bit of character development, huh? That explains why this series is rather shallow: your expectations are very low.
@DarkKnight Reza I do understand Vergil's history, I played every DMC game. So don't presume that I know less than you, and don't start with the "you're not a real fan' bullshit if that's what you're getting at. I did not say Vergil had no character development, I was replying to the OP saying that Vergil saying thank you to Nero is somehow incredibly deep character development. It's not. Vergil barely changed as a character throughout the series, and we don't even know if he remembers everything that happened when he was Nelo Angelo. He still wanted power after everything that happened, and only now in DMC5 might he finally understand that fully demonic power isn't everything. And yet he still fights Dante, even at the end of this game. I was just saying that there is character development, but very little. That's what annoys me about this series and about DMC5 especially, because DMC5 could've explained and deepened a lot of things. Instead, it just brings back Vergil and he's evil AGAIN. Even after what happened in DMC1 and his defeat in DMC3. In fact, he now tried gaining fully demonic power... AGAIN. He already tried that in DMC3. DMC5 is very disappointing in that respect.
Enigma Well consider that he went back into hell to find power and was defeated by Mundus. Subsequently gaining more power but being tied down by possession. He’s defeated by his brother again who became his nightmare. A nightmare that created V and his companions. Manifestations of his defeat. Then returns to the human realm near death and his only hope of staying alive is to fight his brother one more time, causing him to sacrifice everything and forsake his humanity. His entire arc is about his insecurity to be vulnerable and human. Where Dante embraced it, he saw it as weakness. Until he realized he had a child. Breaking that cycle of his father’s abandonment. Vergil’s story has just begun. And I feel that his next encounter with Nero will truly push his character forward now that he’s a father himself. I find it very compelling.
@@NetherlandsFirst from the context of the scene you would be wrong in saying Virgil is seeking more power after merging with V becoming whole again. If anything he is waiting for Dante so they could settle the score the duel they started in dmc 3.
Vergil definitely doesn't have the face of a 50 year old. Dante can pass as a 40 year old though, with all that stubble and white hair. Maybe. Vergil looks late 20s, early 30s.
Well yeah Virgil wasn't going to really age, he has been trapped in hell since dmc 3 and I think his first appearance on Earth was in dmc 1 as Nelo Angelo where he was soundly defeated again and sent back to hell again, and pretty sure time as a concept does not exist there normally.
I legit squealed like a little girl when Vergil appeared, and I’m a 27 year old man, THAT’S HOW EXCITING THIS CUTSCENE IS loved this game. by far the best DMC ever
It really strikes me how Dante insults Vergil by reminding him how their mom “left him behind” and then pauses, as if he realizes that even Vergil doesn’t deserve to believe that, before adding “she tried to save you to you know!” It really symbolizes no matter how much you hate your siblings, you can never really stop loving them enough to wanna hurt them this way
I always thought he said that because it's what Vergil believes. That his mother left him behind in favor of protecting Dante, and so he added "The thing you don't know is she tried to save you too." Vergil never knew Eva searched for him.
Those piano chords from 6:30 forward are very reminiscent of the gothic-esque atmosphere the first games had. It really captured Vergil's original essence.
But both of them seemed to be trapped by Vergil's childhood memory, wish that Vergil finally escaped from the his horrible childhood memory and his hateness of his human side......at least he seemed to accept his human half at the end of the game......

bloom 1123 Everyone has done a wonderful job. When Dante told Nero that Vergil was his father, I literally started tearing up. I knew about that fact for a long time, but the way that scene was handled felt so real. I get every emotion between the two, especially Nero.
This scene hits different in DMC Vision of V manga. For a couple of reasons: -It's actually revealed in the manga when V went to request Dante to defeat a demon, V revealed that the demon's name is Vergil (Dante's so pissed btw, half triggering even), but they cut that part out for the game to keep some semblance of mystery. That's why the scene of Vergil returning is so impactful in the cutscene. -When V stabbed Urizen, V plunged in Vergil's consciousness and hugged the powerless form of Urizen in there as Griffon told his and the rest of the nightmares' final goodbye. Then V met the young bloodied Vergil with the Yamato on him. -V handed the book of poem to Vergil. Vergil want to get rid of it, because it is the symbol of his powerlessness reminding him of the things that he have lost. Afterall, before the twin separated on their childhood, that book is the last thing that the twins quarreled about before everything went to shit like their mother dying for example. V told Vergil that he must look forward, what makes him human keeps his heart safe. The form of young Vergil wasn't bloody anymore, and began to accept his humanity. (FORSAKENED I AM AWAKENED A PHOENIX ASH IN DARK DIVINE-) -V told Vergil that Dante would rather have Vergil by his side, who else would Dante would quarrel with otherwise. -Vergil then said fighting Dante is the best. He fully accepted his humanity at this point, and returns back in the plane of reality to battle with Dante. That's why Vergil have this look of reverence when he picked up the book of poem after he returned. That book really made it a symbol of his humanity, even entrusting the book to Nero at the end. I think the manga really showed how important the symbolism of that book. V's role in DMC5 is superb, his POV in the manga really showcased how so damn motivated Vergil was to stay alive. He have some adventures with Griffon and reminded me of similarities to that of Eddie and Venom. Griffon telling V that he's such a loser, while admitting that he himself is also a loser, then they should just be losers together. (R.I.P. Nightmares T_T ). But well, they can't keep every info in game. The technique of story telling of show don't tell.
just finished reading the manga and had to revisit this scene, I loved the depth they added to V and the nightmares. The symbolism was great, the artstyle, more people really should read it if they love dmc.
Thank you bro for enlightening me about the finished manga I forgot to finish reading I went to go read it today and basically the whole esoteric meaning behind Vergil was shadow work… working through his traumas to become whole. Back to himself…
I know right? I said the same thing. Like nigga is on the other side of the room just spectating and Dante over here telling him to get out of the way. Like the fuck you mean?
Nero: You calling me dead weight again? *teams up with Vergil to whoop Dante's ass* *Trish appears* Trish: "Dafuq?" Nero: "He called me dead weight!" Vergil: "He is my brother, that's even worse!"
He looks much better in black. It was kinda hard for me to take him serious with him being so brightly coloured. But now...all black? Vergil is 100% perfect
I love how Vergil clearly still has honor. I'm sure it's also fueled by his inferiority complex, but telling Dante to get strong I believe shows how he does not want a victory that isn't on fair ground.
Some people seems to be disappointed on the plot twist, but what they don't understand is, the real focus of Devil May Cry V's story line is about Vergil's character development, as we all have seen he separated his human form the one that he dispised and away from his demon form the one that he fabors more, only to realize that he must accept both, as we've also seen, V Vergil's human side is the one that realized it, and wanted to make things right again by using Nero and his brother Dante in the process, and finally we have him Vergil in the flesh, who has made a better man and demon of himself, notice how he thanked Nero, it means Nero also has hepled him improve himself a lot, after all, it's in the title already Devil May Cry "V"
I felt so sorry for Virgil with that scene. He had a bit of humanity in that scene, but he still is fighting with himself more than his fight with Dante.
People have felt that V is pretty much a separate person from Vergil. Thus, he didn't get much character development but I agree with your comment. However, I'm very confused and conflicted whether or whether not Vergil received any character development. It seems he mellowed out a bit but that's all really as far as anyone is saying anyways.
陳潔明 No dude, after absorbing the demon fruit, he can tranform into another more powerful devil trigger like Dante. Actually V is kinda funny and interesting character. We didnt get to see that in game but in manga they clearly explained to us why he need to go form a contract with demon beasts and why he need to finish them off himself. Quite interesting I would say.
Maybe if nothing bad happened during Vergil's childhood, he might be a poet like historically that Vergil did, or may be a teacher? He loves books so badly, life forced him to fight and grab as much power as he can......Maybe that's why Vergil hated his human part so badly, because that did not help him to survive, or technically speaking, even interfere with his survival goal......
V is how Vergil viewed his own humanity. V is very weak physically, and can't do the crazy feats Dante and Nero do without thinking about it. V also believed in strength, that of the mind, but he was humble about it. Why? Because he viewed himself as weak, too. And he knew the only way to get his strength and power back was to seek it in the most efficient way, which was to reunite with Urizen. Vergil always believed that if he was as strong as a full demon, he would have been strong enough to save his mother, and hated his human side to the point where he extended it to all humans. Think about what you think are the worst aspects of you. How do you view them? Personify them? What do you think of when you think of them? That's what V is for Vergil.
There is actually an official manga on how V came to have his clothes, name, and familiars. Be sure to play the game or it will spoil you about the story.
Well he was in demon form for a very long time frist nelo Angelo now that form so when he trulu returned maybe it didn't effect his age as much so now that he has returned he looks the same as back then which is kinda bad because hes in his prime as we say him beating dante
I'm sure it's the fruit that healed him. He was broken as heck before he separated himself into 2. edit: also Dante would look just as young, IF he shaved all his beard. It's the power of the beard that make you look significantly older.
Why does everyone seem to think that Vergil already knew Nero was his son when he took the Yamato by ripping Nero's arm? Because, he obviously didn't. Besides, it was a blessing in disguise for Nero, he got a real arm back.
@@Missrena1000 he had sex when he was 18 years old lmao. In dmc3, vergil was probably at fortuna when arkham approached him in the prologue cutscene Dmc3 dante is said to be 19 and he says its been a year since the last time they meet.
If you pay attention to his eyes and expressions throughout the game, there's some subtle movements which make the moments a lot more meaningful. Like the way his eyes go from faintly, deprecatingly amused to solemn, and the almost-imperceptible nod he gives Nero, when Nero states that neither Vergil nor Dante would die there that day. I love that.
Can't wait to see Kyrei and Nero's 1/8th demon baby. It's devil trigger will probably consist of two very large demonic big toes to slap and kick with in combat.
When you think about it, Vergil is right. In all the tests we've seen them fight, they each have 2 wins, 2 losses, and 2 draws. He wants this tie to end.
I get goosebumps when he turns around and the caption comes up with his name including his occupation as "The Alpha and the Omega." And the way he looks at both of them just shows he's a full on badass. Brilliant entrance of a long-awaited return of the motherfucker.
I love how Vergil returns and does nothing, but observe everything slowly, trying to evaluate his own power, it almost seems he has awoken from hibernation ....
@Rain Dance Everyone in the DMC universe seems to have a very hard time recognising family relations. Probably one of the few things that the DmC reboot got right too.

@@IrishCoffeee agreed, and make the bridge of his nose more narrow, and forehead smaller then hed be perfect

"Thank you, Nero."
Well if that isn't character development, I don't know what is.
You are right he has changed so much
Enigma Well consider that he went back into hell to find power and was defeated by Mundus.

I think Vergil just wanted a good fight
Vergil lives by a code. Fighting Dante at a weaken state is beneath him.
Nope he just so proud that defeating dante at his weak state would be a disgrace to his pride.
This scene hits different in DMC Vision of V manga. For a couple of reasons:
-It's actually revealed in the manga when V went to request Dante to defeat a demon, V revealed that the demon's name is Vergil (Dante's so pissed btw, half triggering even), but they cut that part out for the game to keep some semblance of mystery.
(FORSAKENED I AM AWAKENED A PHOENIX ASH IN DARK DIVINE-)
-V told Vergil that Dante would rather have Vergil by his side, who else would Dante would quarrel with otherwise.

It's funny that Vergil's even weaker when separated...
I still don't get it how V's Vergil Human Part this dude has Tattoos all over his body and wears sandals like wtf

@bluedt23 Eh I don't think so personally... dmc3 Vergil was freaking RUTHLESS. Honorable is not a word I'd use to describe him at that point in time.
@@rand0m742 If so then Vergil would have killed Dante in the manga but he didn't, not even as Nelo Angelo because his honorable or "human" side was still intact.
Of course DMC5 Vergil is more human than his younger self but still, DMC3 Vergil is not a complete monster.
man i just Can *Not* not to Appreciate this Amazing truly Impressive Voice Acting and the Quality of it, and the Realistic Animations as well, that Sync so DAM well with the Voice Actors, like i feel like watching the real thing, like its Real movie or something.
With all sincerity, this is truly is an a Impressive Work and i'm truly Speechless, I just can't Describe how Good this is.
So thank you All who make this game with all it's features and Quality, a reality.
Did this give anyone else goosebumps?!
8:01 Dante: He is your FATHER!!
Nero: *SHOCKED EXTREMELY
Same energy like Darth Vader's true identity in Stars Wars Episode 6
I like the scene where he slightly turns around-- looks at dante, looks at nero, then back at dante and then that brief pause. I just like how it was executed.
Love the pause right after V blatantly says "I'm gonna join the two halves of my soul" where Dante has to decipher the very basic poetry before dashing over to stop it. So in character for Dante.
7:35 whenever I miss the bus to work.
He looks younger than his son!
InvisibleMan95 Well Vergil was like in his early 20s when he died in DMC1 and he’s been in Hell for like two decades, so yeah that’s why he looks so young compared to Dante.
He looks younger and classier than Dante too tbh.
@@marylandman0972 According to what I read... Dante was like 28/29 in DMC1 so would that be Vergil's age too? I'm so confused about the ages at this point..
@@BrittaKittyNeko Yes.
Imagine Vergil winning over Kyrie LMAO
7:25 i felt that "thank you Nero.." ...oh god I miss V already.. TTnTT
Vergil: "Heal your wounds Dante... get strong... after that we'll settle the matter"
Dante: Proceeds to fight nonstop to the top of the tree, defeat V's familiars and Nightmare.... IS HEALED!
Demonic regenerative capabilities, mate.
I love the idea that Vergil’s bright blue jacket initially brimming with confidence and pride turns black to show his experience of pain and maturity as well as reflect both his time as Nelo (also known as the “black”knight in DmC1) and V’s aesthetic
Vergil's return was so powerful that it shattered the reality itself
Actully that was an illusion, and it was breaking cause the fruit was eaten
Please vergil playable!!!!
Maybe in special edition
I second this. Though they'll probably make him playable in Bloody Palace instead.
He kinda is v duhhh
technically he is playable "v"
@@cassherndupree161 Get past the technicalities, I think he means actual vergil himself with the yamato -.-
He will he most likely playable in the special edition.
Loved this scene. My favorite number 1 dmc character is back.
Vergil is so fking badass here! "Heal your wounds dante, get strong and after that we will settle the matter"
Vergil: comes back
Nero: why do I hear boss music
Gotta admit: the voice acting is top notch here. Hard to mess with this one!
@8:07 NO, THAT'S NOT TRUE, THAT'S IMPOSSIBLE!
I was expecting Nero to grasp his severed arm and screaming: "NNOOOOO!"
...
Quite the similarity, eh?
@@akumaoni2837 Ohh you have no idea! Lucas is gonna sue someone!
nani?
It's a reference
At 0:47 you can tell that Dante himself knows that he went too far with that taunt.
He's literally on the cover. He better be playable.
Malic Zarith probably for a dlc fingers crossed
Bloody palace or riot
Maybe in special edition we will have him playable
*I AM THE STORM THAT IS APROAAAAAACHIING!*
Boy, Do We have some good news for you
These cutscenes are so well produced and put together. The expressions, animations and voice acting. Especially Nero, he just stands there in shock
nero sleeping at night
phones rings at 3AM
dante:"GET OUT OF MY WAY NERO"
so basically V is Vergil’s nobody ? lmao
And urizen is vergil heartless
As we agreed its his perfect form Demon ?
Selow Cung exactly 😂😂
That’s a good way to put it
Don't infect DMC with that cancer.
