Funny thing i grew up 5 minutes from desoto in Lancaster. Crazy you found that many of those cars they are like hens teeth to find. Right now im looking for whole cars for parts. I want an eldog same body style but my dream is a 67 eldog. Im telling you now you picked a hard project car but in my opinion that's a good thing. Is easy when you can order everything out of a book it's a grind when you have to search high and low for everything. The body is fire the interior isn't bad either. You got a really good foundation i would have bought it. My best advice be diligent don't settle understand the junkyard and Ebay are your best friend for the parts they don't make anymore. You'll learn the mechanic stuff thankfully there's RUclips lol. If you ever need anything hit me up I'll help as much as i can! Congrats! Finally another person crazy enough to help these rare whips stay on the road lol
Yeah it was a crazy situation on how i found it. its a one owner/inheritance vehicle at that. Those '67's are them long bodies! true dime of a dozens! Im finding luck on Ebay, and facebook market place, i plan to head to the junk yard soon to look for some things. I also have some ideas to add a roof in it since this particular one doesnt have a sun roof. Thank you again also cause asoon as i became interested in these el dogs your channel was the only channel i could fine!
That one has the 4100 worst motor Cadillac ever made worse than the northstars (i have 1 of those too they actually not that bad). If that motor goes out put either a 4.5l or 4.9l which the later versions of this body style had its almost a direct bolt in no heavy modification. You don't have vats that's a good thing it runs good you wanna show how you got that back seat out? #contentideas
Wow im just now seeing your comments lol. Yeah i really wanted a 89 due to the 4.5 but the guy flacked on me so i seen this 86 and was like hmmmmm. Drove down to get it and was like its not that bad actually. Yeah i just grabbed a new edition for it today so ill be recording content on that this weekend.
