My pronunciation of "galbanum" was completely off 😅. If you don't want to make my same mistake, here is the appropriate pronunciation: GAL-buh-nuhm (emphasis on the first syllable).
I love cardamom too! Definitely in my top 5. Maya Njie uses it so well, I love it in Nordic Cedar. I find it comforting and soothing, which I'd probably why I prefer it with woods and gourmands (like Kilian's Intoxicated) over citruses and brighter interpretations.
My favorite almond are Datura noir, Louve, Sicilia Mandorlo, l’Amandière and Tonka Impériale. My favorite violet are Insolence, Vivacious and Favourite.
I try to find my favorite frankincense, I like Sancti, Bois d’Arménie , Cardinale, Liturgie des heures, Agarbathi, Memoire is beautiful and Portrait of lady is so special for me. My favorite cardamome is Nuit de Sable from BDK the best cardamome on my skin ever. Very nice video
I saw your Instagram story inquiring about favorite notes and purposely (and cowardly) didn’t respond because I found it too difficult. This is a much harder exercise to do than one might think! It is hard because the notes depend so much on the blend. It is almost like trying to pick favorite musical notes. Without context they are more or less meaningless. If you twisted my arm I might say bergamot, Jasmine, tuberose, ylang, civet. Tomorrow I’d probably give you a different answer. Aldehydes, argh! Love them too! -Chris

I remember from your osmanthus video you had mentioned a Serge Lutens scent you said has a faint aroma of plastic. That along with the other scent you mentioned in this video, the smell of plastic might be something you gravitate towards as well? Pretty interesting. I wonder if you’re into that “doll head” note quite a few scents out there have. Also I got a sample of Cuir de Chjne and it’s really nice! I’m excited to try it on tomorrow.
Interesting point. I don't think I purposely gravitate towards plasticky smells, but i found it interesting in Nuit de Cellophane because of the name and also because it would've been a simple fruity floral without it
Have you tried Amouage Meander yet? I just got a sample yesterday and it is the most interesting green frankincense I’ve ever smelled, I highly recommend trying it! I know you hate hype, but if you haven’t tried BDK Gris Charnel yet, I also recommend it as a fellow cardamom lover 😊
So sorry to hear about your grandfather ♥️ I have leaned on fragrances to keep my grandparents close to me (I have a scent for each), the scent memories have meant so much to me. Love Datura Noir and I love your description of L’Heure Blue, it is a chameleon of sorts!!

Have you ever smelled Jules by Dior? Most Galbanum centric perfume I've ever encountered, they used all the Galbanum!
