i can only imagine the amount of times they had to re do the scene cause Mackie always manages to crack a smile out of Seb
4 takes maybe, or less. The whole scene was improvised by the actors so they nailed it pretty quickly.
Sebastian definitely broke character a few times in this cut, those smiles aren't Bucky lol

Love that Sam know exactly where Bucky is going with "then he was wrong about me" with the silent look.
that line is so heartbreaking because when bucky was at first becoming himself again bucky felt like steve was the only one who believed in him and knew he could change so when bucky is saying that the underlying this is that bucky feels if steve was wrong could he really change and be something other than the winter soilder and could he be something other than a killiing machiene.
How so? Cuz Falken is pulling the racist card and poor me poor me thing.

The crack in buckys voice actually tells you how it hurt him coz he still feels like a monster which he never was😭😭....this scene actually gives me goosebumps 🥺🥺
When you sin and have guilt that's good because it means you're sorry, but EXCESSIVE guilt can be more destructive than the sin
“If he was wrong about you then he was wrong about me” that line hurt especially after seeing everything Bucky went through 💔
You can tell the exact moment when it stop being soul gazing and turns into a staring contest, love this scene so much
Series may not be perfect but its moments like these that make me love it. The insecurity in “he was wrong about me” is some incredible acting.

This scene is really intense, it bothers me how ppl make it into a joke. Captain America is more then the shield. But the shield represents so much. That’s why the scene in endgame where Steve passes it on to Sam is so important. He’s passing the torch. Bucky who has killed and murdered in the name of evil is a haunted man. Sam is a good soldier, minus the serum who represents the best of us.
Bucky bringing up the shield is heart breaking because Bucky understand what the shield represents and what Sam just tossing it aside so quickly leads too
It was more of Steve having a poor judge of character. Bucky meant that if Steve was wrong about passing the torch to Sam then he was also wrong about Bucky not being a tool for delivering death.
“ppl” making it into a joke? There are literally like 2 dozen jokes in this scene, Marvel made it a joke themselves
That's Bucky's perspective , Sam as a black man would be immediately target aswell as his family . It happens all the time in history especially in the 60's and even above . Blacks died before reaching 50 by standing up for basic American rights for people and now he is Handed the sheild of America... yeah that's pretty much to ask for . Falcon would no longer just be a Hero but he'll be a Hero that represents all of America and must protect it all . So I see why he gave up the sheild not only seeing that he felt unworthy but seeing the cost of his life and many others aswell . I see what you're saying tho .

@@joshuaware818thank you. I love Bucky but i’m sick of people being unable to see that this show has some bad writing. Bucky’s sense of self being entirely based on Steve prevented him from seeing the reason why Sam gave up the shield. Which made no sense to me. Bucky’s grump, sarcastic, and kind of mean personality here just seemed out of place. Why is it so hard to believe that Sam would be wary of how America, being a racist country, would accept a Black Captain America? 🤷🏽♀️. I don’t get it

People always say that the line Bucky said "He was wrong about me" is the worst but to me, Its the part where Sam says after they are done they go on long vacations and NEVER see each other again. *Bucky literally had tears in his eyes* like *he knew* He wasnt worth Sams time just like he wasnt *worth* Steves time anymore after Cap went back to Peggy.
Bucky : Steve gave you the shield, why did you give it away?
Sam : because i gave it away.
This story would have worked better if they took the shield from Sam.
Instead he just willingly gives up something one of his best friends gave to him as he stepped down.
Honestly I’m sure a therapist would affirm that this is a horrible therapist.

Sure the show was about falcon becoming Captain America but Sebastian Stan acted circles around Mackie.
Seb was seriously snubbed of an Emmy nomination. Carl Lumbly who played Isaiah Bradley too :(
Sebastian Stan is good at saying everything even if he's not saying anything. His eyes and face are so expressive. He's really good at subtlety.
These two guys have really good chemistry together.
Stan is a good actor though. Bucky is a mess, I mean, the character has been through so much.
