Thanks so much for this, I was gifted some air dry clay and was looking for ideas beyond the fairy houses I usually do lol. I made my mom the mushroom incense holder and she absolutely loves it!
A lot of great ideas, thank you!! My favorite was the wall hanging. I've never seen that before it's beautiful!! I like that you went back to the mate finish on it. Great job!!❤
I watched this whole video and I must say you're very talented and made really cute stuff. I absolutely loved the mushroom 🍄 incense holder and the air plant holder that looked like a hanging basket weave! They were both really beautiful ❤️ I bet if you made just the mushroom incense holders in lots of styles of mushrooms and colors, you could sell them and make a fortune. They are THAT cute and mushrooms are really popular and trendy right now. Just sayin 😂😁 Whatever you do with your projects, they're beautiful.❤️
I’ve only made it through the first tutorial & I’m sold on the DIY pottery life! I took a traditional class a few weeks ago behind the kiln & it just wasn’t for me. I know that I want to make my own pottery pieces, love the air dry alternative!!!
Yes, the toothpicks can definitely help attach things easier. It’s worked well when using DAS air dry clay & Creative paper clay. But cracked when I’ve used with crayola or amaco clay. I think it just depends on the clay that ur using.
So far most of the planters I’ve made are still good. Well all but one. I had one break cuz I dropped it from a top shelf. The clay is still good, but the glass inside broke. I use either das or creative clay to make them & those clays are very sturdy 😊
Hi there enjoying watching your videos, can I ask how you cover glass without it cracking as it drys, also I always understood from other tutorials that air dry clay would not stick to glass. How do you make it stick. Please keep making the videos
Thank you! Whenever I make projects where I want the clay to stick to glass, plastic, metal or wood I use either Das air dry clay, creative paper clay or Sculpey air dry clay. Those clays have never cracked on me when I use them for those projects (i think it has to do with the materials they are made from). And then those clays just usually stick to the glass when I press them onto the glass, but if you’re still having trouble with the clay sticking to the glass you can add slip (slip is watered down clay, the consistency should be like a paste) to the glass and it should help the clay stick. Try to stay away from earth based clays when you want them to stick to glass because those shrink a lot more and will most likely crack when drying.
I find deco art sealer to be thicker than mod podge which is why I prefer it. But it’s not water proof. If you want water proof you may have to use a resin based sealer. I used sculpey for the flowers just cuz I had the clay on hand & it’s my favorite clay to use for molds since it doesn’t stick to the molds & shapes really well. 😊

Do you have a wheel as well as the kiln? That's quite an investment isn't it?
Nice ideas. Have you ever used toothpicks when adding pieces of clay? (Ie fingers to palm)
Yes, the toothpicks can definitely help attach things easier. It’s worked well when using DAS air dry clay & Creative paper clay. But cracked when I’ve used with crayola or amaco clay. I think it just depends on the clay that ur using.
Also, when you make plant pots, you’ve never had a problem with the air dry clay drying and separating from your glass?
Vielleicht hat sie das Glas auch darin belassen..🤔

If you make them too thin they can crack around the glass inside as they shrink too much, so make sure you make yours a phat boi

Hi Ivet, thank you for these helpful tutorials!
Just one question, what type of paint do you use for the coloring?
I use acrylic paint, any brand works 😊
Is this deco art coat similar to mod Podge? What is the best for water sealing? And was the plant stand sturdy and strong??
I want to make some air dry planters and am super worried about water penetration
And why did you use sculpy instead of what you were using for the flower molds?

What kind of Clay did you use to cover the boxes??
I used das air dry clay for that 😊
I love that Clay, Thank you, I am so enjoying you!!❤
