  • In this video I will show you how to add or modify an A Record and a CNAME for a domain registered with GoDaddy. In this video, I use setting up Shopify as an example, but adding A Records and CNAMEs is exactly the same process. The only difference is the IP address or URL used when creating these DNS entries. These are typically provided by your service provider.

    Watched this in 2019 and it still works, and still... the best video on youtube to help you change A record and Cname for your shopify store.

    Hello, is it right that you demonstrated the situation that Godaddy provides domain service and Shoppify provides the hosting service for this domain?
    When does it require to change the DNS nameserver in Godaddy with the two nameservers of Shoppify? Thanks

    hello, quick question. is it better to buy a domain from go daddy and then link it with shopify?? or just buy the domain from shopify?? like whats better, efficient, and what will be the difference. thanks.

    • @TechVideoLab
      @TechVideoLab  8 лет назад +1

      +loveadvice Hello, the only real difference from buying your domain from GoDaddy ( or some other domain registrar) and directly through Shopify is primarily what you pay for the domain, and the ease of integrating it to your Shopify store.
      Shopify uses OpenSRS as their registrar, so you're basically purchasing the domain form OpenSRS through the Shopify control panel. Here is an article from shopify with more details:

    How would this workout if I had to map a subdomain on mydomain.com? I am keeping mydomain.com in my hosting provider because I want to map another service e.g. Wordpress at wp.mydomain.com. So I designate shop.mydomain.com to point to my.shopify.com. Do you have a tutorial covering this scenario?

    how do i find when i paid for my Domain name? my web server is saying that it has run out but i haven't heard anything from you about renewing it..
    help me please as i'm not well and on Morphine so the videos are just confusing for me..
    Thank you

    • @TechVideoLab
      @TechVideoLab  8 лет назад

      +Dutch Volkering Hello, you can do a WHOIS lookup on your domain name to see when it expires. If you happen to know what company you used to register your domain, you should be able to login with your account and check. Just google "Whois lookup" and you will find many sites that you can use to pull up domain details. Let me know if you have any further questions!

    Dear I have dedicated server from godaddy and I don't find my DNS Records ?
    and all the email account is not working well and we call many time the technical support and no any body help us

    • @TechVideoLab
      @TechVideoLab  8 лет назад

      I am sorry to hear you are having trouble with your GoDaddy account. Your DNS settings will be handled by the servers were your domain's name servers are pointed. You can find this by looking up the DNS records at a site like network-tools.com
      Just select "DNS Records", type in your domain name, and then look for the records with the "NS" label. These are your name servers, and where the DNS is hosted.
      You would then need to login to the portal for where those nameservers are hosted and update your records there.
      Let me know if you have any more questions.

    hi I need to ask you ,If I make that with 000webhost ,can I upload my website and go to the same domain name ,or I need to buy hosting also from godaddy? please help me as soon as possible

    • @TechVideoLab
      @TechVideoLab  8 лет назад +1

      Hello, if you are hosting a site at 000webhost, you will need to change the nameservers of your domain to point to their webservers, according to this article: www.000webhost.com/website-faq/how-do-i-point-my-existing-domain-to-your-nameservers-39
      If you currently have your domain registered at GoDaddy, I have put a video together on how to change your domain's nameservers here: ruclips.net/video/p4HsXRNuEUY/видео.html
