Learning through pain and blood! Very good lesson, man. Enjoyed this tuturial very much. Just trying to play the song. The hardest part for me is the precise slide to fret 14 over and over. But I keep going and trying. Flea is an outstanding bassist.

I mean, I really like to play that song. I play it very often, on a high action shitty bass, this doesn't make the thing easier, but I never hurt my finger like this... maybe this comes from the fact that I use my 3rd finger for the slides, instead of the 4th as you did...?

I’m not sure what you mean by “striking the string with the finger” for the (x) symbols. Is that not just another dead note that you could either play or omit?
you can skip that with no problem, both are dead notes ,you could say, but i needed to create a notation difference. It mean you use your plucking fingers to strike the string against the pickup. Kinda the same motion for stopin the string's sound
