Hey satyam can you kindly help me out with modelling a pipe in Plaxis ...by giving it a thickness as well .. I did it by first using tunnel generator and giving radius then giving plate properties and then generating the thick linning in subsection options for tunnel segment but that way i am not able to get a solid thickness in the pipe only the outer curve is plate and inner curve is polycurve if k do it the other way where i make the thickness in plate element as well the gap in pipe is taking soil element whereas it should be solid HDPE pipe...Do you have any idea on what might help
Thanks Satyam, i have a question could you explain me why is important to create an interface along the two "sheet pile", that minus and plus what are they meaning? thanks again good job
Hi Pasquale, The sign do not contain any specific meaning. The reason for providing that interface element is to accurately modeling the interaction between soil and sheet pile material at their junction (wall face). It is because the friction between the 'soil and soil' is different than the friction between 'soil and other material'. For more detail you can search 'interface element' in Plaxis Manual.
When I set the Material set, the program will show that "TDAO Table : cannot perform locate record without an index for field(s) (Dataset D). What is the problem?
Hello How to see the diaphragm wall lateral displacements varies with the excavation depth? I want an excel data to draw horizontal wall displacement with the excavation depth and settlement with horizontal distance from wall?
You can get the tabular format of displacement data from table option in the tools box, or you can extract the displacement data in a perticular cross section from 'cross section' icon just aside the 'table' option.
is there any way i can change a axisymetric model in PLAXIS 2D to PLANE STRAIN model from the existing model without having to create new model from start. please do reply as it is urgent
Hi Uzma, I have not come across any such way to do this. As the selection of the problem type (Axissymetric or plain strain) is done at the very start of modeling. If you somehow come across any such way please let me know in the comments.
@@satyamtiwari8987 yeah thankfully i came across the answer otherwise i would have to remake 120 models ...so basically if you go to the project properties in the file menu but in soil mode you can change the model type but if you are in any other mode like structure/staged construction etc than the option is locked happy 😊
man i don't know how to thank you, you explained it in all the details
thank you so much
Great tutorial. Very clear. Just one thing, Plz check again the saturated values of the soils.
Thanks for such a nice video

Sir, please make a video on shallow footing bearing capacity and settlement in plaxis.....
Sir if we do excavate 30 meter width. Then can we provide 30 mtr. long strut with the help of fixed end anchor tool?

Plz sir 🙏
Hello, can u put the link of the software?
I used crack version downloaded years ago, do not have link now. you can get trial version of Plaxis2D i guess.
Send me ur email i ll help you
