Jamie, can you help me please?... in need of your expert advice on this one and this seems to be w many songs and its frustrating. I am trying to learn it on my dino-sour vintage KING ZEPHYR series 437000 model tenor sax and I cannot reach that high C# note. Theres no more buttons available to press LOL but I'm thinking there a trick to reach it..idk
I’m a returning alto sax player after a 20+ year hiatus. I was looking for a good song to learn for Valentine’s Day. I turned on the radio and heard an old Top 40 countdown from 1985 and the number one song that year was Careless Whisper. I’ve had that iconic song on my to-to list and today is the perfect day to learn it. Thank you for the tutorial and music PDF! I can play through it already but need to practice those runs!
Careless Whisper has the sexist sax of any song I've ever heard. Thank you for showing how to play this. My hubby has been working on it for a few days so I'll share this video with him. Love Careless Whisper!!
Love your sax tutorial! Great playing and teaching. I am a new beginner and will be coming back for more once I learn this lesson. Thank you for helping me to get my sax together! 😊🎷🎷🎷
Why would you dislike this video, he literally just helps you out and teaches you how to play this song, only people who disliked are just mad because they cant play it.
Just found this video a few mins ago, i have been playing alto for almost 4 years and tenor for around 1. I have always had trouble finding people who are able to teach both as usually people are maining one or the other this video is exteremely helpful after getting back on alto after a month or so of tough practice for a concert on tenor. Tysm
Thanks Ash. Do check out my channel. I have many instructional videos. Maybe start with the free Masterclass linked in the description. Keep on blowin'
I discovered you for 3 weeks ago, and you are by far the best teacher online, no question about that, you are exstremely good, have very easy and good explained video's and I have learned so much from watching you :D I love your work, and I love that you have most of the videos both in tenor and alto, mostly alto, since that is what I play myself, and that you have both fingercharts showing what buttons to use and how to use them, and you have easy explainatory videos with note sheets aswell, and that you shine confidence in your work, and that you have the most awesome songs and soloes of all time, making it easy for beginners to learn the hard stuff :D also the way you take every songs and soloes and split them up in parts and then show slow and then full speed and at the end you show the whole thing how it sounds like with notes! :D keep it up man, I love you and I hope you continoue to keep up the great work, IM speechless man this is gold :D
Gee wiz! You can come again, anytime!! lol Lovely comment - thank you so much. Really appreciated the feedback. I put a lot of effort into the videos so I'm glad they work well for you. Thanks for watching and let me know if there's anything else I can do for you. Make sure you've signed up at my website www.getyoursaxtogether.com and you'll get all my updates etc. J:-)
That's interesting (about the down tuning of the tape in the recording) I would actually prefer to play this in DM concert not DbM concert on tenor. I have a '69 MKVI without a high F#, but the altisimo F# I use is stronger than my top F.
Very good video to learn this evergreen classic song on saxophone. Can you please also make similar videos on: 1. Shape of you (by Ed Sheran) song cover, 2. Thank you (by Dido) song cover.
As a beginner to sax player your lessons have been so helpful especially setting up the reed! Ive got to ask though, that left closed note..how do I map that to the sax? haven't seen it on other charts unless its play open?
When you click the link for the pdf you will be able to download the sheet music. (From Google translator: От переводчика Google: Когда вы нажмете на ссылку в формате PDF, вы сможете скачать ноты)
@@GetYourSaxTogether I figured out I can't. It's an odd instrument. A plastic recorder/sax thingy. Lol Nuvo jSax. It's a fun instrument to play for a first time player though. I've been using piano music to play it.
Moe Shamas - if you’re on a desktop computer press SHIFT and < that will slow down the speed. Sorry it’s too fast! Get the pdf from the link in the description to get the sheet music.

I love that this was the song I learned about three years ago and now I’m teaching others to play it.
Nice one.
Finally someone who came really really close to the original.

Thanks 🙏🏻
I‘ve got a problem, I was unable to hold the sax body firmly when blew the high key C# note, how can I improve this skill, thanks a lot!
@@timothykam4742 keep your hands close to the keys. That should keep the sax in place. Don’t flap your fingers up when you play C#.
great lessons and channel thankyou for your videos

Cool. Thanks Vinn

Tips on reaching the higher notes? Is my reed not the right „thickness“? I’m playing on a 2 1/2 reed. Any help is appreciated

I’ll add it to the list. Cute song.

can you send me a time stamp (0:00) so that I know what time on the video you mean? Thanks
Thanks for replying! (2:24) looks like it's the first note haha
John Daviotis You only have the octave key on for C#.
@@GetYourSaxTogether ahh thank you! so that key refers to the octave key that was my question :) makes sense now!

Sorry for the late reply, just discovered loads of comments that never came up on my phone! Thanks for watching J:-)
Really appreciate you..if you could make your next video of how to play NOTHING'S GONNA CHANGE MY LOVE FOR YOU..thanks
Nice song, but I don't do sax covers I'm afraid. There's no sax on it? J:-)
I think this song was the reason i wanted to learn the sax. (and drop the trombone... goodness I didn't like the trombone)
Good choice!
It says phrase 1 slowly but it’s so fast💀
Oof!
I don't even own a sax
Get one!
Hi thanks for the video but It's complicated because the video is fast and you may do it slower when you play on the sax it's too fast

@@GetYourSaxTogether thanks for the advice I will try it thank you so much and keep on the amazing videos 🙂
