In my opinion the best way to understand Em, is to go through everything he ever spoke about and rapped that got recorded in chronological order, to see through all aspects of his topics in his music and see how he progressed lyrically through the years... and YES!!! the further thought time you will go, the more you will see more and more wordplays, metaphors and lyrical intricacies, but syllable- rhyme- and rhythmical progression in his music!!! That was happening in general in Rap, but in his specific case it will really help to show you what makes him such a genius and a unique artist!!! And by the way, you can just go on exactly like this. It's YOUR channel, and you should be just yourself and behave in the way you feel most comfortable with😉

bonnie as in bonnie and Clyde, its the name of an Eminem song where he uses the reference in regards to himself and hailie as the characters in that song. His uncle Ronnie is eminems uncle, they were around the same age and he introduced eminem to rap music, he committed suicide
Also i suggest you look up the explicit version of this song, theres some huge chunks cut out of the third and fourth verses

Stan saying he would name his daughter Bonnie is as a reference to an Eminem song called '97 Bonnie and Clyde, where Bonnie is referring to his daughter Hailey.
Actually "Stanning" or "Stan did came from this song. This has got to be arguably his biggest written song with great story telling.

Eminem made a continuation to this song 12 years later for MMLP2 it is called "Bad Guy" you are going to want to check it out while Stan is fresh in your mind, there is no music video though. And yes Eminem invented the term Stan, it even got added to the dictionary.

Yes Freya, the word STAN was added to the official Oxford dictionary and Language word #eminem Some of the events is real, the person in this video broke into #Eminem house 1 or 2 times.
And it is more that we dont know. Em is very personal person about his life, he only let us know what we need to know.
As I'm sure others have mentioned, "Bad Guy" picks up the story of this song and continues it, so it's highly highly recommended, especially while this is fresh in your mind. You're exactly right about the vicious cycle.

It might be too early in your journey to recommend this one, but, "Cleanin' Out My Closest" was another one of his earlier hard hitting songs. Fair warning: the song is about anger towards his mother about his childhood. Yes do try to find the 'dirty' version, you linked the clip of Eminem saying it himself (in the Will Smith bit), he needs to use these words to accurately express himself.
Yes! And if you do Cleanin out my closet, please do Headlights afterwards. Cleaning out my closet shows his anger towards his mom when he was younger. Headlights is his opinion after he gets older and wises up. It's a totally different message and vibe. But, it would make way more sense to do them in this order.

@@FreyaReacts Yeah this one is the highly edited radio version i believe, its hard to follow. Most of his songs are easy enough to follow when censored, but not this one. Another good one is sing for the moment, the way i am, rock bottom
Why do you listen to the clean version every time?
With Eminem, it completely changes the contest, and meaning of literally every song, as they are all heavily censored.
I believe this is the only censored version I've heard -- I believe all others have been uncensored. But, yeah, this one is my mistake, it said official video so...my bad. I did relisten to the uncensored version and yes, it's a whole other experience. But, hey, thanks!
Eminem adopted Alaina (his oldest daughter) with Kim (his Ex wife) from the Twin Sister of Kim that passed away from an Overdose. His 2nd daughter is Stevie which is Kim daughter with another man. And there's Hailie his biological daughter with Kim that you saw in the Mockingbird video(with Alaina).
Ronnie (his Uncle) is actually only 2 months older but he was the person that got him into hip-hop as a kid so he respect him that highly. He passed away from Suicide over a fight with his girlfriend back in 91.
Ronnie refers to his uncle and Bonnie refers to Hailie in the song '97 Bonnie and Clyde.

I've heard this edited version a few times in these reaction videos, and i don't understand why it's edited so much. I can understand the curse words, but some of the conversational parts didn't deserve to be edited. 🤷🏾♂️
