Mam I m totally in a confused stage..on 30th November...sir explained about recapitalisation bonds..in dat sir said recap bonds will be issued by Central government at some interest then this will be purchased by psbs ( from here my confusion starts) sir said psbs lend money to GOI 🤔?it should be GOI will lend money to the psb na?becoz already psb are in NPA ?please clarify it with little more detail explanation...tqsm for all ur efforts..I appreciate that..
Hi, Please give us some time to clarify your doubt. we assure you that either your doubt will be cleared as a reply to this comment or we will clarify it in next "comments and clarification" special session, as we have done earlier.
I will try to rectify... basically it all starts with the need of complying with basel norms which needs equity capital to its risk weighted assets.equity can be increased by issuing shares..so in the recent budgetit announced banks needed around 2 lakh crore rupees and it's done by not investing as mere cash but but by recapitalisation bonds..where govt receive cash by buying bonds..and these bonds are bought by banks itself using customer deposits and these amounts are used by government to buy shares of the bank..and govt gave interest rate for the bonds which banks bought ..in short it's just a circulation of money..
