Let me start to say Whitney is probably the best female vocalist that ever walk the earth. She did an amazing cover of Dollys song I will always love you. What Erik did here was took the song to the next level. As a vocalist my self on a pretty high level this version from Erik goes directly to my heart. I cried like a baby first time I heard it. His emotion and power house of a voice is amazing. I have followed Erik since he was a young boy and this is the best performance I heard from him. And he have done so many amazing covers but this one is the best version of this song I ever heard. I totally can understand your reaction on this one. Only a heartless person still untouched after listen to this one.

The song is called "Bad Valentine" and hasn't released yet, but there is an incredible live performance of it from a small, intimate stage in the states. I would argue that this is hands down the best male cover of this song ever recorded. Not only is this song incredibly hard to sing from technical perspective, he also nails the "Soul" of the song so well, something that Whitney Houston carried so deeply. Coz it's one thing to perform with technique, but it takes something really special to be able to embed your soul within a song. And that to me is what set great singers apart from the rest.

But parts of the song i can agree it is to my ear, but in the same vein, some other parts i do not agree. To me, it is by far the best male cover ever recorded of this song though.
This was amazing! I'm a Swede and I watched Erik Grönwall when he got into the Swedish version of "Idol" (I guess they call it American Idol in the US), but that was over a decade ago. Completely lost track of him, until recently when this exact clip - and reactions to it - were suddenly recommended to me.
