They removed the headphone jack. Mine 1st edition needed replaced so i tried to buy a new one. Can't find one on amazon only the 2nd addition. Shame the new one doesn't have a headphone jack.
Thanks for the review I went a head and bought the 2 gen, love the black buttons, and it gives me every button there except frndly TV which I can add to the quick button :)
Just an FYI - I just got the remote VP ver. 2 and the Rocket button is different when not using a Roku TV. I have a Roku Ultra and the options are to quick launch an app of your choice, the Roku Channel, Live TV Guide, Closed Captions and Voice Command. There are no other options e.g. Sleep TImer. I still haven't gotten OS13 yet so this might change but I highly doubt it.
I think I got the first one. I returned it because I could not get it to control my Visio soundbar like the Roku remote that came with my tv. I might give this one a try to see if it will work
Technically it could be done but you'd have to basically cut open the case, unsolder the old battery, solder the new one in and find some way to reseal the remotes case. Not a job for a beginner and probably not worth it in the long run.
@@rdubay01 I got the case open with a pry tool I bought from Amazon (it was endorsed by JerryRigEverything) for $6. It wasn’t hard to get that done. I’m on my second battery, and the connector doesn’t fit on it. I will buy the new version as soon as I get my check. I might as well throw the old remote in the garbage.
unless I'm doing something wrong, I'm not getting that menu to be able to see those same 4 options to choose from when I press the rocket shortcut button. plus not able to assign 2 aps to assign. only letting me choose one. is there something else I need to do? the remote is paired to my tcl roku tv. don't have the roku os 13 update yet on my tv's. didn't think that would make a difference.
Must be the lack of OS 13. This remote is paired with the Roku Pro Series TV that came with OS 13. So you might have to wait a little while to get it. Trying confirming with Roku technical support.
you can just check the battery status by speaking it in the voice remote, and it will show it on the screen. or you can arrow to the remotes under settings and check it there. easier with the voice command though. yep.
finally recieved the o.s 13 update on my tcl roku 43 and 50 inch tv's, the 4 series model. this morning. now I'm able to assign 2 different aps that I can choose from to launch on the new roku pro2 remote.. only thing I don't have is the bluetooth option. but everything else is the same now. must be a new thing for the roku brand series of tv's like the pro, plus, and maybe the select that gets the bluetooth feature. yep.
you know the 4 options you had when you showed the menu when you pressed the roket button. it showed the 2 aps, then the search, then bluetooth. on your screen on your tv. on my tcl, I only have the 2 aps and the search setting. yep.
Buy the Roku Voice Remote Pro 2nd Edition at amzn.to/4aUiTMP
Albino why u look like u went too @fric@ 😊
cool video. have the 1st version of this remote. defintely going to getting this pro2. yep.
Yeah who knew there were lots of things they could do to improve that remote.
I wish they let you select what shortcut buttons to have if you buy directly from them

Do regular Roku's have sleep timers? I thought only TVs do.
@@davewelike I believe you are correct, only TVs. I have 5 Roku TVs and they all have sleep timers but not the Ultra.
Very cool video!

definitely still enjoy the remote. highly recommend. yep.
Now you can scream hey Roku all day long to control your TV. 😉
I was thinking about replacing the rechargeable battery in my 1st generation Voice Remote Pro, but I’m now wanting the second generation model.
Didn't even know you could replace battery. How were you planning on doing it?

Is the voice remote a point anywhere remote that uses RF signal? Or is it the old IR type that has to point exactly at device
@@sassylass9305 you do not need to point directly at the TV

I got this bc I needed a new roku remote and I like the backlit buttons….
When you charge this new remote, how do you know when it’s done changing?

How do I turn the backlight feature on??! My remotes buttons don’t backlight in the dark !! It’s driving me crazy I can’t figure it out

Wow 13 hit all your devices at the same time. I still have a Ultra that doesn't have it. What's the Bluetooth feature?

Worked good for awhile now I have to leave it plugged in to work now 😢
@@bubbadude316 sounds like defective battery. Try to return it.
Says "Pair Connect" and does not show pariing at all. ????
Would this work on a tcl Roku tv ?
It should!
Yes. It works fine with my TCL Roku 32”.
yep, have one for each of my tcl 43 and 50 inch 4 series tv's. no problems.
You didn’t do the thing you titled the video
