Being able to plug a cheap set of wired earbuds into the side of the remote and not worry about a bluetooth signal next to your brain was one of the best features of Roku's Plus model remote. It's unfortunate this feature doesn't come standard with the Pro model. Swapping one of the favorites buttons for the Guide button was also pointless, since they could probably have made this programmable by the user on either the #1 or #2 button of the previous remote, if it wasn't already available as an option. Looks like they also removed the RCA inputs, which the Plus model had. So in some ways the Plus model is more Pro than the Pro model.
Despite these issues, I'm still glad Roku is making these Pro models. The TV marketplace is terribly lacking right now in terms of ad reduction, privacy, simplified OS and picture quality, and electronics longevity. The Roku OS needs to stick around. Now if we can just fix these few issues in addition to having Roku avoid coerced arbitration agreements, cease their HDMI ad inventions, and reverse their anti-meritocracy (DEI) practices, we'll be well on our way to a truly quality television and a manufacturer we can actually stand behind.
You could plug your earphones into your smartphone and play the TV audio through your Roku app.
Guide is a pretty important button if you have antenna or candle on your TV. Let's you quickly jump to watch that instead of input button.
Yeah shame the rca is gone. Clearly this TV is meant for modern streamers. You'll need an adapter.
@@davewelike, thanks for the response. The Roku app only works if you 1) have a smartphone and 2) it's Android based. And I know iPhones don't accommodate wired headphones without a dongle. On the other hand, a remote with a built-in audio jack was a super convenient and simple feature that didn't require any extra dongles, smartphones or apps in order to work. Plus, the remote jack is easy for kids, the elderly, or the smartphone resistant to use without needing access to a phone. It's a shame this feature would be eliminated with an "upgrade". I consider it one of the coolest features of Roku's Plus Series televisions.
On the Guide button being important to some people, that's why I said just leave the #1 and #2 programmable buttons and let one of them serve as the guide button IF the user actually wants to set that button as a shortcut to the guide. This way users who need a guide will have a button; and those who don't still have two programmable buttons to use however they like.
By the way, this isn't in any way meant to discourage your review or opinions on this television. So far as I can see, your video is the only one so far that actually reviews a real live Roku Pro and I'm really grateful to you that I can now see what this TV has to offer. Your video is perfect.
I have high hopes for continued improvement at Roku (continued ad reduction, privacy, simplified OS, prudent use of "smart" features, increased electronics longevity, user-repairability, eliminating coerced arbitration agreements, and reversal of anti-meritocracy [DEI] practices). Decent review the oled looks better tho so comparison helped me decide the Roku tv wasn’t best for me haha
@@rbkbthekrew I do think oled will always look the best. Mini led doesn't look bad but not the best. Sharp Roku TV has a OLED model. So that's the best of both worlds.

How do you like the Roku Streambar (Pro?)?
I own the Roku Smart Soundbar. It's the original version to the Streambar Pro. Definitely recommend it if you want Roku on any TV. I'd rather use it than a stick or player. If you have a Roku TV, you'd have to go with Roku TV Wireless Soundbar.

How fast does your internet speed need to be to maximize the best for this Roku Pro?
Might want to ask Roku support says but general broadband should be able to handle 4k.

Watch some content and then go to Settings, then like advanced picture settings. You should be able to change the red tint.
What is your impression, is the picture impressive or just a budget option?
More even image quality than the Plus. It can't beat the black contrast of OLED but it sure is bright.

How do like this TV? I currently have a TCL 8K TV R648 model but certain apps are acting up and the TV flickers at times. I also have a 2018 S517 TCL Roku TV and it has no problems so I believe there is something wrong with my 8K TV. with my protection plan I have for it, I may get a new tv if the problems can't be fixed and I am just curious if this is a good TV to replace it with?
